It’s funny, I generally hate hard games, but I’m very fond of Ghosts 'n Goblins (both the arcade and NES versions) and Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts due to playing them so much in my childhood.
I think you’re right. I’ve played the arcade version too, and it’s truly brutal, but most of my attempts have been on my NES. I don’t know how similar the port is.
The arcade version was brutally difficult. Brutally! They took that difficulty to some of the 8 bit ports of it (friend of mine had it on an Amstrad CPC 464) so I never really got much fun out of that game unfortunately.
They make a TV show out of everything nowadays, don’t they?

Creating a film or TV about a well known video game franchise is a safe bet for film companies as they don’t need to get the audience interested in a new story, just re use an old one that already has some fans who’ll just have to watch it. Probably helps the videogame publisher as well, especially if the film leaves you wanting more
Of course. It’s just unoriginal. But that’s fine. I don’t have to watch it.

I’m not so sure about it being a safe bet. There have been a few good adaptations, but in general I’m very cautious and expect the worst because there has just been so much more garbage that completely ignored everything that made the games great.
For someone who never played the fallout or the withcher games should I feel left out if the show runners ignore some of the canons of the games/source?
What? Do you mean that the shows would require prior knowledge of the source if the showrunners didn’t ignore it? Doubt it. I mean a book is a book and a game is a game and not a film or tv show, some changes are expected in the adaptation because it wouldn’t work otherwise. But there’s a difference to just ignoring stuff, can still make it low barrier for people who don’t know the source.

Now that’s a good client! I’ll see what happens. If I get getting questions about “why are you doing this” and “how are you doing this?”, I’ll just go back to the spoiler and people using broken clients can block me if they like.
I felt the same way, then I saw glowing reviewed, watched a few episodes and it’s good. I didn’t have to be. I didn’t expect it to be. Yet so far it is.
Never played the fallout games except for brotherhood of steel. I don’t really know the story. wether they stay true to the game or not is not a big deal to me just like the Witcher.
It’s an open world game series with 4 games. It’s been so long since I played them, I barely remember what happened and where it’s canon or not. So, I’m practically in the same boat 🙂
Personally a fan of Keychron M3, and it’s pretty cheap too. I’ve heard that the shape is a bit of a crapshoot with regards to comfort when holding, but I’ve personally never had an issue and it’s just been awesome
Are you so deeply entrenched in modern technology that you cannot fathom that a human could comprehend and map future astronomical patterns?
Humans have been doing this since early records of humankind on earth. Loooooong before computers existed. Computers have only been around the last few decades.
I find a lot of the conspiracy shit reeeeealy hasn’t aged well.
Have you played disco Elysium? Its pretty Fucking poignant. On like every level. I imagine it might fall flat on a kid, but if youre old enough for the original deus ex, you’re old enough for some of the harder shit to hit home.
I love FFXIV, but honestly, if I didn’t knew beforehand that Shadowbringers will be a peak story, I might have dropped the game in the swamp that is the ARR-Patch-Story. It was Heavensward that hooked me though.
Yeah, I got whiplash by how hard the story picked up at the end of the post ARR quests, and it just kept going. SB was a bit less interesting, but really good still imo.
The combat also gets so much better once you get to 70-80 on most classes. I’m glad I stuck with the game, but man, I dunno if I would do it again.
I think the concern some people have is that it’s a slippery slope. Sure, right now it might not be too egregious, but if this behaviour is just accepted, publishers will want SP games to be designed around mtx. There’s no limit to greedy peoples’ imaginations when it comes to squeezing people for their money, so god knows how they’ll limit your ability to play games without putting in either a lot of time, effort or money.
This has been happening for years. Shadow of war (2017) had orcs in loot boxes, every assassin’s creed since, and including, black flag (2013) has had microtransactions in some form, odyssey (the last one I’ve personally played) had a rotating cash shop in every city. I know it’s another Ubisoft game but farcry 5 had cosmetic microtransactions in a game that is permanently in first person. You could only see your outfit on the change outfit screen. This comment isn’t meant to come across as antagonistic but I do find it strange to be warning about a slippery slope when we’ve all been riding the toboggan for years.
