Honestly I’m glad we’ve moved from “Censor out anything that might be slightly objectionable” (Like they did with Sam & Max for example, and I believe the GTA Trilogy got hit with a bit of this), to “Look the game is old and from a different time, what society deems acceptable is always changing, deal with it or move on.”
I’m so beyond tired of being told I can’t have a steak because a baby can’t chew it. I actually bought this three pack solely because it didn’t censor Tomb Raider, a game I was very sure they were going to censor
Genuinely struggling to remember what that could even be about.
I mean, it’s been like 25 years since I played them, but I don’t recall any obviously bad things in there. It’s not like it was filled with old Jackie Chan film levels of cartoon racism.
The voice acting has quite a range of stereotyped accents. Nothing they say is overtly racist, but the over the top accents themselves are insensitive.
I haven’t played it but that doesn’t sound racist to me if the context is right. There are cannibal tribes today. They are black skinned. This is fact.
And is what they should do rather than trying to delete it.
Provide context so that future generations can enjoy what’s good about the media and acknowledge how parts of the content/media are problematic and not appropriate.
I feel like I’m in the minority when I’m looking forward to Nintendo making a high-powered console for once. The last time their hardware was on par with or better than the rest of the industry was the Gamecube, which was an amazing little system.
I dont think itll be high powered, thats just the reporter adding something for clickbait.
Im one to believe in Bobby Kottick mentioning that the Switch 2 is roughly the power of a PS4 as he was in contempt of the court when his leak of its performance was discussed. the handheld likely has better cpu performance though vs ps4, as its basically in the same playing field as the steam deck is, both companies who can sit and make thir 30% cut from developer games.
Tldr, dont expect Series S perf, expect steam deck performance with better battery and DLSS support to 4k (i personally believe itll target 1080p60, and use DLSS Performamce preset to upscale to 4k, as 1440p tvs arent common)
You’re not. I’ve been wanting this since the GameCube, the last Nintendo system that was built with performance in mind and advertised as such. The Wii was a step in the wrong direction, and it was all downhill from there as far as my head canon is concerned. I’m glad that Nintendo is finally catering to fans like us again after waiting patiently for 22 years.
Never got into Harry Potter since I was too old. This game was really fun to just explore and I constantly felt a forward momentum. Some of the stories were good, and some were awful.
I would absolutely play a sequel just based on the well done sense of discovery alone. I just wish more of what you found was impactful instead of cosmetic.
On the one hand, I agree about wishing there was more to find than a new color cloak, but on the other hand I think it’s a neat way to keep the game approachable to more casual gamers (and to try and get as many Harry Potter fans to get it as possible). That being said, I would have liked if there were more challenge, and something other than just flat stat improvements could have been a way to keep that interesting if they had higher difficulties.
I get it, but it doesn’t have to be just pure stats. Could have been mild ability improvements or something or maybe changed some of the effects or visual things that occurred around you. Hell, even walking speed improvement or something like a tone to help you locate hidden items.
There’s a lot they could have done considering we’re dealing with magical items! Still had a pretty good time with it overall though.
I wish they’d aggressively apply it to replacing middle-top management. The jobs that don’t add anything except a lot of money being siphoned off, anyways.
This hits hard, the Max Payne 1 was my introduction to Film Noir storytelling and I can still remember how I felt when I finished it in that first play thru.
Keep on driving into the night Mr. McCaffery, it’s a late good bye, such a late a good bye.
