This is staring to feel like Sony’s 32x

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Not at all. It’s fucking annoying and clearly just cash grabs from the IP owners

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

IP holders push for another paycheque.

Sigh

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

No that Elden ring placement looks correct.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Games as a service is a scam designed to milk players for every cent.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Was hoping the movie would have killed the franchise and force them to move on and make something original again instead of wallowing in IP rot.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

The gameplay loop is only fun when the dialogue is funny and it hasn’t been funny since 2.

I’m just so over looking at virtually identical gear with slightly better stats that were randomly generated.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

The cops should be called on Hollywood for IP abuse. 😂

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Well how about you give server tools to players and don’t kill the game off once it’s no longer profitable.

BroBot9000, (edited )
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Wow, that a first for a corporation to allow.

Normally they just kill off games and release a pointless sequel.

Ken Levine says BioShock nearly went nowhere and was almost canceled: "We can't make those games because they don't sell" (www.gamesradar.com) angielski

What’s interesting to me is of course how cheaply Bioshock got made compared to today’s blockbuster hits. Somewhere, we took the wrong turn in regards to modern game development, truly....

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

We can’t make art because of capitalism. Fucking sad.

They don’t sell because no fucking company wants to market a product that they can’t milk every fucking cent from. They aren’t producing anything of value, only subscriptions, game passes and addictive gambling loot boxes.

Games as a service is a scam. Stop preordering the latest AAA wank and support indie devs.

More standalone experiences that are unique and creative instead of factory produced sludge.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

This is what should happen. You like the game, make one that’s inspired by it, grow the concept and give it new life.

No. We get franchises and wallowing in profits of milked IPs

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, buy them two years later once the bugs have been finally patched and the DRM is ripped out and gameplay doesn’t stutter anymore.

Or just 🏴‍☠️ AAA and give that money to indie devs that are actually trying to produce a unique and creative experience.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Please no.

7 just got them back to their horror roots. We don’t need another generic action flick like the mess that was 6.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Rather have them burn the franchise down and make something original before getting desperate enough to dig up that turd.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

The game came out first and you know it troll.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Play 7. It’s the vastly superior experience.

The remakes are fun but I’m with the other commenter saying that I’d rather see Left for Dead 3 get made by a different company and not have to sacrifice a good horror game for a mediocre class based shooter.

There are tons of games with different classes and play styles. Resident Evil those are not.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Yay consumerism and microplastics!! ❤️

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

All phone manufacturers are shit.

Google Samsung Apple

All shit companies.

Pick your flavour of coolaid. 🥤

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Just wait till next year for remastered X chronicles version with horse testicle physics and customizable skins.( $9.99) There’s a secretary outfit and a gangster with a Tommy gun and even a cheerleader one!

The battle pass auto expires if you miss 3 dailies in a row and every micro transaction directly donates 10 cents to the “build an Ai Cory Barlog” foundation.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Small indie studios instead of the hulking meat grinders of corporate giants.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Any numbers in on how much money they lost?

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

No in game purchases or multiplayer.

😭 thank you, was that so difficult?

BroBot9000, (edited )
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Good!

Its about time someone held these corporations accountable.

For the peanut gallery: it’s not about the violence in games. It’s about not getting data tracked on every purchase. Just because someone bought a violent video game doesn’t mean they should be tracked and exposed to more guns just because the gun manufacturers want to sell a few more units.

It’s exposing the mentally ill to targeted marketing campaigns and pushing them down the extremism pipeline that meta has created.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

“In terms of the Call of Duty publisher’s alleged responsibility, the lawsuits seek to connect the promotion of real-world weaponry to “vulnerable” young men who are "insecure about their masculinity, often bullied, eager to show strength and assert dominance.”

“The suits reportedly paint a detailed picture of Daniel Defense’s aggressive marketing, using Facebook and Instagram to “bombard” Ramos with material glorifying assault rifles after he downloaded a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game in November 2021.”

It’s targeted data stalking on the mentally unstable and pushing them to extremism.

There needs to be accountability and a stop to targeting people for the sake of profits.

BroBot9000, (edited )
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

I’m not complaining about violent video games like some Christian boomer. I’ve played them all my life and have no issues with realistic violence.

It’s the companies marketing them using data tracking and social media. Them getting directly connected to gun manufacturers through targeted ads is the issue. It’s exposing the mentality unstable to a barrage of targeted ads and pushing them down the crazy pipeline that social media has created.

Meta needs to be held accountable and if it takes M$ and gun manufacturers with them all the better.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

You are literally making my argument.

The algorithm is causing this and it’s creators need to be held accountable. Thats the fucking point.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

More games like this and less AAA mediocrity.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Honestly thought they abandoned the game already.

BroBot9000, (edited )
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Your friend is talking about a former buddy of mine.

He was incapable of critically judging any film or show he’s watched. Everything was the greatest movie he’s seen.

Here’s an example of just how bad. The new transformers, Angry Birds & Tokyo Drift were as good to him as Pulp Fiction, Toy Story & Inception.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Shadow of the Colossus

Hollow Knight

Sekiro

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

They are going to use this as an excuse to buy more companies.

Look Starfield still sold outside of gamepass, we aren’t a monopoly trying to own everything.

The moment they have bought enough companies they will rip away any other option besides a subscription.

BroBot9000, (edited )
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Just stop buying their “games”

Oh I mean “live services” that are broken on release, designed to charge you for everything and will be taking offline the moment it’s no longer profitable.

How about gamers stop throwing money away and enabling this shit company to absorb everything around it and making worse and worse games. But that won’t happen. Y’all have the conviction of sliced bread when it comes to preordering.

Pick up some good indie games already.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Or just don’t buy it. 🤷‍♂️

Not that difficult to say no to an abusive company.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

So you choose to give that money to a large corporation subscription instead of just buying the game from the indie devs?

You are exactly why these companies are getting away with whatever they want.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

You are the frog slowly getting boiled.

I’ll give them money as long as they offer me a fair service. “Puts on clown makeup”

If they misbehave like Netflix I’ll stop paying them.

“Puts on clown nose”

I don’t mind that I have no other choice now because the console I bought is only subscription based.

“Puts on clown wig”

Nobody could have done anything right…

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Yup! They are trying to build their own walled garden like Apple.

This and all other massive company mergers need to be stopped and undone.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

lol. Mister why bother with anything over here.

You can make decisions on what you support. You don’t have to be perfect and boycott literally every company to make a difference.

People don’t have control over every choice but enough to matter. Especially in regards to entertainment.

BroBot9000,
@BroBot9000@lemmy.world avatar

Yes literally every screen, console and movie player is built on abuse, so let’s not do anything about the companies that do openly abuse their employees and customers. It’s all bad anyways so might as well do nothing with your thumb up your ass.

Nestle does horrible things and literally has killed children but let’s do nothing and buy their products anyways. Not like there are multiple nestle boycott groups all over the internet spreading awareness. No they are just wasting their time.

You can stand up against abuse from one company while being unable to do much about another.

Doing nothing gets you nowhere. I’m not saying choosing to support a company or not is the end all be all but it is the damn minimum you can do. Unions and laws against monopolies is what we need.
