simple,

The greenlight system wasn’t any better, all it did was gatekeep indie developers while still being easy to manipulate.

simple,

Why? There are plenty of proper games that benefit from early access, and plenty of people that enjoy early access.

simple,

Especially in a game like Civ. it’s hard to know how people feel about it until a week or so later. I remember when Civ 6 was said to be the best game in the series on release, but after spending some time with it, it was lacking. Reviews like these are more of a first impressions.

simple,

I haven’t delved into it much but the big change this time is that as eras change, so do leaders. So you can change from one leader to another mid-game for different bonuses and strats.

Day 201 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (pxscdn.com)

Today i continued through Alan Wake 2. I have started Alan’s Section. I got to the very end of Chapter 2, but ran into a bug where Alan doesn’t push a subway car door open while being chased so i stopped there....

simple,

100% disagree with the guy saying it’s not necessary. AW2 is a direct sequel of the first game, if you don’t at least watch a summary online you wont understand most of the story.

Isn’t this just going to be taken down as soon as the publisher sends a DMCA?

    simple,

Yes, however the risk mentioned in the article is that it might get de-listed too.

Multiversus ends updates, will close servers on May 30 (but will remain playable in Singleplayer) (multiversus.com)

I played it in the “open beta” two years ago. Sad that it’s come to this, the game had a lot going for it but… having all characters locked on start then weirdly shutting the game down for an extended time then coming back with everything somehow worse… everyone saw this coming....

    simple,

Note: even though the game will be playable locally, they’re still going to de-list it, so grab it before then.

Additionally, when Season 5 finishes, the game will no longer be available to download via the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store.

    simple,

It’s been out on playstation for a while, but it just now released on PC.

    simple,

I’ve had issues as well with installing games. The worst thing about Game Pass is that the games are installed deep in your file system that you can’t access normally. You have to fight with the file manager and mess with ownerships just to copy your save file…

    simple,

Great, now when will they restore the games for the rest of the world? They’ve been removed on Steam since forcing PS accounts.

    simple,

Soul Calibur 2 running natively on modern PCs would be a dream come true.

Reuters: New research backs up that video games can be an antidote to stress and anxiety [interactive article] (www.reuters.com)

This article is a bit broken on Firefox so I highly recommend playing this on anything Chromium, but it’s really cool - they essentially turned the article into a webgame to showcase the mental health benefits of a cozy video game.

    simple,

Video games are weapons grade copium

    Using this from now on.

I agree it’s really obvious to anyone who plays games, but it’s always nice to be backed up with proper research.

Phoenix Labs (creators of Dauntless and Fae Farm) just laid off most of their dev team

If anyone was following this fiasco, they basically launched Dauntless on Steam with a major update that completely wrecked the game and removed much of its content. Dauntless was already struggling and went in weird directions during development but this was the final nail in the coffin, and the company seems to have totally...

    simple,

I played it on release and it was a fun time with friends. A few years back Phoenix Labs was bought out by another company, and it was all downhill from there. It really is a shame, Dauntless was a neat game.

    simple,

Woah, you worked there? Got any stories on how things went down?

    simple,

That sucks, I hope you’re doing alright after the layoffs. Hopefully things improve in this industry…
