simple,

They both have very similar average scores though.

simple,

I watched some videos for the game and I’m genuinely baffled by how bad the writing in this game is. The rest of the game looks fine but most of the dialogue really is Forespoken territory. I think SkillUp put it best when he said “It’s written like the HR is in the room”

simple,

The time and effort people put into these games never ceases to amaze me. This looks very impressive.

simple,

Star Citizen is a game that exists, so sure, maybe “scam” isn’t the right word for it, but they’re still insanely sketchy. They constantly make promises they never meet, constantly beg the community for more funding when they already have an outrageous amount of funding, add insanely overpriced microtransactions to try to profit off whales, etc…

SC is driven by hype and nothing else. So many years later it still runs like ass and is very barebones, there’s a giant question mark on where all that money went and how the project is being handled. No Man’s Sky had a fraction of the budget and size and they managed to do so much more.

At best it’s the worst managed video game project of all time.

simple,

I really wouldn’t mind a remake of Left 4 Dead 2 with better netcode and more official maps.

simple,

As for indies, there’s also a ton that are good. Just recently we got Rally, Victory Heat Rally, WHAT THE CAR?, Aero GPX, and some others I forgot.

simple,

Not likely. Game Pass and other similar services stopped offering many deals like they used to for indie studios. I started using it again recently but it feels like so many games have been taken off, likely due to Game Pass not performing as well as they expected it to

Stories and Mechanics around punishing over-aggression angielski

For game designers, encouraging aggression is often a good thing. Too many players of StarCraft or even regular combat games end up “turtling”, dropping initiative wherever possible to make their games slow and boring while playing as safe as possible....

simple,

I haven’t played Overwatch for a while but for a time there was a notorious meta called GOATS (3 tanks, 3 supports). It was an insanely aggressive meta that focused on rushing straight into the enemy team, tanking them, and killing them before they can react. The only way you can counter it is by also running the same team comp and hoping to kill them faster.

It ruined ranked games for a few months and the devs apparently had no idea how to fix it without nerfing tanks or supports hard - which would make playing them feel terrible. That’s why OW added a role queue and enforced 2 damage, 2 tank, 2 support teams.

That said, I think aggressive metas are way better than turtling ones. Nobody wants to idle around and take pot shots until someone gets bored.

simple,

General consensus seems positive. I’m excited to pick it up on release, it’s been ages since Bioware did something good.

simple,

Their reviews are usually not that critical. That said, I don’t think they’re really a great source for gaming journalism anyways.

If you want to see a very critical review of the game, check out Skill Up’s review: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF-Kd2BBpx8

simple,

I’m mixed on it. They just cancelled their multiplayer game because it wasn’t their ballpark, now they want a studio known for linear story-driven experiences to make an open world game (I assume). Could go either way.

simple,

I’m really not a fan of this. Opencritic’s entire point is to filter out the garbage and be a great way to see a summary of reviews from professional critics. One look at Metacritic’s user reviews and you know it’s just going to be flame wars of fanboys and haters.

simple,

Yes! There’s opencritic.com/calendar which is available in ics format. It usually only covers big releases though, not many indies on the list.

simple,

I just tried and got it. Might be worth shooting them an email.

simple,

Yeah, it’s an accessibility update that adds cheats and minor options to the game. I’m not sure why they hyped it up.

simple,

Yup, we’ve gone full circle. The initial release of vampire survivors copy pasted a lot of Castlevania assets, but now they’ve negotiated a deal to have them officially in the game, which is neat.
