I don’t consider Anno to be a city builder, really. At least certainly not first and foremost. Anno is a production management sim. I’d probably compare it more similarly to something like Factorio than I would to City Skylines or SimCity.

What games has the cartridge form factor been a source of issues?

Modern consoles install games off the disk, because discs are so slow.

Weird to gatekeep what a “real” rpg is, implying it’s turn based, then mention games which are “active time”, like SoM or FF7.

I thought Anno 1800 was good out of the gate so I will remain optimistic. Not all games are crap.
