TachyonTele, do games w Risk of Rain 2: Alloyed Collective (New DLC)

I hope it has new music. I love the soundtrack to this game.

Quantumantics,

Agreed, Chris is such a great musician.

Damn this sucks. This game was pretty decent in the beginning. I had fun leveling couple different weapons. I bailed when they reworked the progression system to be more confusing and less rewarding. I’ve been meaning to check it out for nostalgia sake even though recent rework got a horrific reviews and now I don’t even have to bother. RIP

kitnaht,

They “rebooted” it by wiping everyone’s progress and then making paid transactions the way to progress. It was doomed from the rework.

time limits are a super cool way to maximize addiction

WillBalls,

What would be a good method to minimize gaming addiction in kids?

I agree that time limits aren’t ideal, but is there a better solution besides vetting every single piece of media a child wants to consume? I grew up with both, and it just taught me to be sneaky, which then ended up with me exposing myself to some truly awful stuff on the internet

nutsack,

I have no clue my man

JoeKrogan, do games w Steam Winter Sale is coming(Today), along with voting in the Steam Awards
@JoeKrogan@lemmy.world avatar

I picked up GTA 4 , I was going to get rdr2 cyberpunk , hogwarts and sifu if they had hit the right price but I’ll leave it for a future sale. I picked up the mass effect trilogy earlier this year for 9.99 now its cheaper. I also picked up a humble spaced out bundle too recently so I have tons to keep me busy.

callouscomic, do games w Steam will soon start making it easier for players to search for games based on accessibility features

People need to remember that news about how Steam has like 300 employees. They do a ton with a small crew, and they stay down to earth. Coming from all sorts of console gaming and the shittyness of that, It’ll be a long time before I criticize Steam.

Did a quick search to remind myself. 300 for Valve. Only like 80 are dedicated solely to Steam.

I understand what you’re saying but we’re talking about a multi billion dollar company. At this point there is no excuse you can give for not fixing simple and easily identifiable issues with user experience - especially since all of this has been criticised for years. As much as I appreciate some of the recent additions, fixing this mess should be priority number one.

Hyphlosion, do games w Dauntless is shutting down on May 29, 2025

While I personally wasn’t a fan of Dauntless, I respected it and I’m sad to see it go. I’m a huge Monster Hunter fan but understand the importance of competition and how it benefits gamers.

I can think of one legitimate use: character portraits in RPGs. I strongly doubt that there are more.

Computerchairgeneral, do gaming w Bethesda is once again adding support for paid mods to Skyrim

On the one hand I'm not opposed to mod creators getting paid for their work. There are a lot of great Skyrim mods, released and upcoming, that I wouldn't mind paying for. Total conversions like Enderal, giant content expansions like Beyond Skyrim, and especially a lot of the great companion mods. The pay what you want option seems like a good way to let people support mod creators while not creating a paywall. On the other hand I just don't trust Bethesda to deal with all of the issues this is going to create and it's hard to see how it doesn't end up negatively impacting the wider modding community.

God damn, that’s a meaty update. Active dodges, no more health potions, loot drop rebalance… I’m super intrigued.
