I expect the growing availability of portable PC gaming systems to further boost this growth. It’s known the japanese public is very biased towards portable gaming devices, which is why the Nintendo Switch dominates by market share.
Think Valve only recently partnered with a distributor for East Asia, so the Steam Decks are slowly showing up in Japan and South Korea. Asus of course has a good distribution network, so generally where they're strong you'll see Allys. I still can't get a Steam Deck in a store, but can get an Ally (and probably the Legion Go).
I’ve seen them in Edion, an electronics chain, in Japan, and they seem to have a partnership of some kind with them - the first time you could do a hands-on anywhere in Japan was at an Edion in Osaka, and that’s where I’ve seen the physically on sale recently (as in, only in the last month or two). The only person I know with one ordered it online.
Yea, think Komodo is working with Edion for in-store sales. Saw an announcement somewhere when I was reading about Steam Deck sales in Asia (which sadly, just three countries in East Asia).
Because people on mastodon don't feel "captive" to the corporate social media feed and are free to engage however they want.
They blame the people for how hostile their platforms are, but all the while feed us only content that makes us angry or upset -- so yeah, it's not a surprise that the platform is a cesspool when they're the ones stirring the shit in the first place to keep engagement high.

If they need more revenue, I wish they would try console releases instead of deteriorating the value of newer DLC. Company of Heroes did it so it is not unheard of, and surely the hardware of latest gen consoles is enough to run a semi-decent experience of Total War titles.
As much as I love the franchise, I'm kinda concerned for its future if they continue down the current route, not gonna lie.
I think that will be dreadful. Like not a huge fan of the dlc price increases (seriously almost 150% increase over the last game when their last lord pack COC was already an increase), just TW on console just sounds awful since the controls just aren't precise enough for what you need to do in those games. Yes, you can plug in a keyboard and mouse in a console but I don't think many people would be willing to do that for just a singular game except for the most tryhardy of people
You understand that the game isn't new, just new to Steam, right? Having zero hours on Steam doesn't mean anything when they forced all the people who genuinely wanted to play it to figure out that it was dogshit on their own launcher first.
Review bombing is when a game gets poorly rated for something, mostly completely unrelated to the game, but due to something surrounding it - be that a publisher decision like deciding to ban and not give Blitzchung his prize money for saying support Hong Kong, or some perceived language/political/regional slights like with Nier Automata. Tons of examples out here in this category, where legitimately good games are being affected by somewhat legitimate but not relevant reasons.
Overwatch 2 being poorly rated on Steam isn't review bombing. It's gamers saying how shit the game is, like the false promises for Cyberpunk 2077, the addition of denuovo to games, or horrendously egregious microtransactions added to games, like with horse armor or the entirety of everything thst happened leading up to Star Wars Battlefront II (the second). These may be legitimately good games severely affected by terrible decisions from the developers, publishers, or marketing team. Being poorly rated for having egregious microtransactions isn't being review bombed, it's highlighting a serious problem in the games design.
I understand why the latter is so easily mixed up with the former, but it's something that happens as users and media outlets erode the meaning of these words. It's disingenuous to say that something is review-bombed when it's poorly rated for legitimate reasons but as you said it's something that is now interpreted that way.
There's also something to be said about Valve's internal metric for review bombing which is the increased number of reviews leaning in a particular direction due to some external force. For example, Assassins Creed Unity being given for free led to positive reviews but was excluded from being counted as a review bombing, compared to something negative like being completely unable to leave reviews at all on the Epic Games store, leading players to leave reviews on Steam.
In regards to the reviewson Steam, given that the game has been out but just released on this platform, it's still not review bombing. Are there joke reviews? Always in basically every game since before steam points awards. That doesn't mean they were being review bombed, that's just any other joke reviews.
Tl;Dr is overwatch 2 being poorly rated for something that doesn't have anything to do with the game? Did Blizzard not give prize winnings out? Did the developer make a racy tweet 10 years ago? Are non-localised players upset about something not culturally localized?

I am playing this game again, just for the N64 campaign. For anyone who already owns a copy, gets the remaster for free as an update. It’s amazing that a game I paid $3.99 in a bundle, is getting this much packed in.
He only needs to never come back, and for him it’s easy. It’s not yet that stage when they smuggle people back, rn they just clean up cultural landscape from ‘traitors’ to make it 100% sterile. Music scene is already like that.

Right? Ranger is probably at the bottom of my list just cause in 5e (as has been noted everywhere else), it seems to lack its own identity. If you’re familiar with those rules, do you feel like BG3 does anything to make the Ranger more worthwhile than the tabletop version?
This is my first entry into anything D&D / 5e honestly and the lack of identity kind of drew me to the ranger, I wanted to go for a melee front fighter but the barbarian and warrior trees seemed a bit too focused

Seems like Australia gets screwed with these types of things more than other first world nations. Even a lot of third world countries have better speeds on average than Australia. Even then though with a 50mbps connection you can just download it overnight or start it before you leave for work and you’ll be good to go.
Devs should be focusing on their next project and celebrating the triumph that is DE. It’s heartbreaking to see everything unfolded in the years after its release.
