That should be “ownership” as actual ownership implies having control over a thing and no one who “purchased” this seems to have much control. Breaking the DRM and creating a self hosted sever is taking ownership of it. Don’t pretend CD keys were physical ownership either unless the key was entirely validated offline which admittedly older key schemes were.
Pretty stoked for this. The superhero genre seems strangely missing in gaming, barring IP related projects connected to DC and Marvel. This came the closest to matching the thrill of being a superhero, when it came out. Character creation was amazing, too
Picked the game up yesterday. No queues, but the matchmaker is still having trouble filling pubgs. Also running into massive CPU utilization straight at start of game, and with Nvidia recommended graphic settings im getting dips to 25fps in some missions. Hopefully the technical patch is not too far away.
What card are you running, performance turns out to be pretty decent. I run this on a Radeon 6950 and on 1440p with everything on high and fsr on quality, I get 120+ fps on average. Or is this game more in favor of amd cards ?
That was me! I figured that I succeeded by getting to 3bc. I played 3bc for a long time and realized that after a while that I was at my level. I guess I didn’t have the will to grind the skills needed to go further. Many great memories and I’m so glad I played it. Been seriously the best game I played in years.
If the reduction in overhead, or any other optimizations it might offer, increases performance even more, I might go out of my way to set up a multi-boot.
A gaming-focused, curated experience that just works™️
With a little know how you can get 99% of the way there with any arch based distro, but installing a new OS for non techies can be pretty intimidating. Having Valve’s assurance that it works with all common hardware would help more people take the plunge, I think.
The wording of this is so stupid for a lot of reasons. Specifically with how ambiguous “AI” is. The ghosts in pacman are AI.
If they’re talking about generating code bases, that’s just not going to happen.
If they mean LLMs being used by programmers in code editors as a useful tool, like GitHub Copilot, then that’s awesome and an increase in productivity.
Artists can use generative AI art for quick textures like repeating grass textures. An AI will not be able to match an art style or theme, it has a limited scope and can’t be hand crafted like what’s required in game with poly budgets.
Devs obviously love better tools. These save time and increase productivity.
I think you’re on the money, but I have to disagree with one point: AI will absolutely be able to match an existing art style, if not now then very soon.
I’m content with my ~120 hours played so far even if I don’t play again. But I probably will, especially with mods or future content. It doesn’t quite have the build flexibility of an elder scrolls game though. Hopefully they’ll add more variants to the bases etc. Generally happy if a game has 40 hours of gameplay and there’s easily 40 hours of content in Starfield.
The NG+ stuff is interesting but after playing it a bunch it’s both a plus and a minus, like it’s neat to have the options there, but also might’ve been better to start actual new characters.
Yeah I have been pretty addicted since release – getting a month’s enjoyment out of a game (in my case, 50hrs, but I’m still going back), is good value for money.
There are too many great games, especially this year, to spend all my time only playing one.
I fed Gale his robe when he was bitching about magic items once, had to have the whole deep.lore conversation with him suddenly naked. My point being Gale is a great thumbnail for this article about naked men.
