Got to agree. The voice work that really stood out in my opinion was done by Amelia Tyler (narrator) and Devora Wilde (Lae’zel). Everyone else was good and I REALLY enjoyed Karlach. I even did a play through with her as the origin character but it was because of the character design and writing more than the voice acting.

Definitely not shit but nothing special either.

You’re making me hungry.

Two pyramids? You wish. Original Lara Croft had one massive wedge.

If we would all listen to Lemmy, we would need to boycott: Nintendo, Sony, Windows, Ubisoft, Activision Blizzard, Pokemon, Disney+, Netflix

I do boycott all of these as well as EA (made an exception for Split Fiction), most fast food restaurants, and I am trying to use Amazon significantly less.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

I recently broke a decade plus boycott of EA products to purchase Split Fiction for full price. My friend asked me to play It Takes Two with him for free through friend pass and I was so impressed by it that I wanted to support the devs. Besides, the whole point of the boycott was to “vote with my wallet” and I want them to know that I want more games with that kind of quality made by teams that are (seemingly) happy to be doing what they do.

After the Wii, I sword that I was never going to buy another console just to play Zelda. I eventually got a Switch to play Breath of the Wild and basically nothing else (I owned a total of 4 Switch games). When they sued the shit out of the Yuzu people, I decided it was time to finally live up to the promise I had made. I gave the Switch, which I hadn’t touched in years, to a friend to use as a gift for his kids and committed to never giving Nintendo another penny.

I’ll reevaluate that stance if they ever make significant changes to their practices.

It's Official, Switch 2 Joy-Con Will Not Feature Hall Effect Sticks (www.nintendolife.com)

One of the biggest issues that’s plagued the Nintendo Switch since its launch in 2017 is stick drift. In fact, Nintendo faced several lawsuits as a result of the issue, with an ex-repair supervisor previously stating that the workload to fix drifting Joy-Con was “very stressful”....

Thoughts on Mario Kart World angielski

While I am personally excited for a new Mario Kart after 10ish years, I am slightly skeptical of the quality of the gameplay, as it seems a little cartoony, a little bit like Super Mario Strikers, where the game is fun for like 2 weeks then no one plays it ever again. What do y’all think?

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Then don’t buy it. Buying it tells them it’s ok to keep raising prices.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

You Nintendo shills are hilarious. Have fun shelling out premium prices for out of date tech.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Grounded is a masterpiece. One of my favorite games of the last decade. Pentiment is also fantastic but it’s not really a technical marvel.

I haven’t played Avowed yet because the somewhat mixed reviews and $70 price tag plus my backlog of games encouraged me to wait for a sale.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Baldur’s Gate 3 and Elden Ring are the last 2 AAA games I bought close to launch for full price. Other than that, I picked up Hades 2 in early access. The rest of my library is all stuff that I bought on sale.

I do have Monster Hunter and Avowed on my wishlist but I think I’m going to be patient. If I do pull the trigger, it would probably be for Avowed because I want more Obsidian games. On a related note Grounded is $20 on Steam right now so I stopped that up even though I beat it back when I had Game Pass.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Based on the size of the company and the budget for the game I’d at least call it a AA game. My real point is I paid full price for it and have absolutely no regrets.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

A very fair point, but alas… for better or worse, the bar has indeed been raised, and last month only proved that. February 2025 saw the release of a new RPG from one of the most beloved studios in the genre, Obsidian Entertainment. Avowed is modest by design, but nonetheless it’s polished, accessible, and visually impressive, with a rich story from some of the best writers in the business—and the backing of Microsoft, one of the most influential and well-resourced videogame publishers of all time.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

If Avowed is bad I’m going to be really disappointed. I love Pillars of Eternity and played hundred of hours of Grounded.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

You can one for under $300 if you buy refurbished.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve tripled my library since getting a deck and use it more often than my PC.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Sure. Can you play Baldur’s Gate 3 on it?

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

How so? Is the price the only thing you think about when making a purchase?

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Ah yes, the Nintendo method of preservation.

Popular Female Skyrim Modder Has Abandoned Her Work Due to Daily Harrassment (www.gamesradar.com)

I think gamers as a whole, though specifically those in niche communities, need to take a long and hard look at themselves. We should celebrate the volunteers that create wonderful content for us, generally with no financial gain. Instead, commonly, there are communities that criticize and tear down every little thing they can...

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

The article glosses over the sexual harassment until the end. She says that pictures of her were distributed on discord and mentions the daily harassment and sexualization from the community.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

I’m considering buying this next week. Has anyone here tried it yet?

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

The title is a typo. The link goes to the page for Worshippers of Cthulhu and that is the game I am asking about.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Honestly it would not surprise me. I had to double check.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

On PC it requires Ubi’s launcher and Denuvo. That’s enough to make me completely uninterested.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

You really don’t understand that the people who throw money at Ubi’s standard crap and people who 2d Metroidvania games are mostly different people with different values? The CoD/Fifa/Assassin Creed crowd clearly don’t give a fuck about shitty, intrusive launchers and kernel level anti-cheat.

Meanwhile, lovers of Metroidvania games looked at Prince of Persia and it’s competition (games like Nine Sols) and chose one that didn’t install malware on their computer.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

For the best experience, do you recommend playing the demo or waiting for full release?

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Ok. I’ll install it later.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Welcome to the current state of Square Enix.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

You are mistaken about the price. Street Fighter II: The World Warrior had a retail price of $69.99 at launch.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

What people don’t say is often more important than what they do. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the The Witcher 4 is an always online multiplayer game with mtx.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Firewatch has 1 ending and only pretty small changes depending on dialog.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Just FYI, the term triple-A doesn’t refer directly to the quality of the game. It simply means it was made by a larger, well-established company.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

The Last of Us, Life is Strange, Tell Me Why, and Celeste come to mind.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

This 1000 times.

Solasta (especially modded) is a much more pure 5e as video game experience.

BG3 is a much better game overall.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

It’s sort of DnD. Solasta offers much more authentic 5e combat (especially with mods) but has much weaker stories, awful faces, and bad voice acting.

TheLowestStone,
@TheLowestStone@lemmy.world avatar

Quake and Starfield are both first party Xbox games. Get PC Game Pass.
