Just as heads up, Obsidian, I’ll require this to be at least 75% off if it’s good and over 20 hours of single-player campaign. If it’s shorter, I can be enticed at 90% off. I’ll wait for a few years, no problem, my family group backlog is in the thousands.
I'm way more optimistic about this game after seeing the gameplay, this actually looks fun. I'm still not sure how precise the platforming will feel with an isometric camera angle, but I'll try the game at least
This looks completely unappealing, and I say that as someone who likes 3D platformers. There’s even no replay with all of the attempts at once, I’d argue that gimmick did a lot of heavy lifting.
It’s because Take Two came out with a fuck-you-in-the-ass EULA for all their games. I actually look forward to boycotting someone, there’s too much free and discounted shit everywhere
Happy they didn’t fuck up the originals, but added these as separate titles. Fucking Sony recently pushed a rEmaSteREd Days Gone as a patch and it sucks, the version before looked great at 45 FPS on Steam Deck, this one is in the toilet for dubious gains. They certainly did it so that people who play the game on their ps5 pro don’t notice how much better the game looks and works on the pc.
I genuinely don’t understand, is this a new edition and if so, what’s added? Or is it just a trailer apropos nothing, CDPRs “not without my anus” of the gaming news cycle?
My YouTube feed is filled with nothing but overwhelmingly positive reviews. All I did was watch the trailer a while back, then a review with gameplay from some influencer that got early access....
Looks like complete ass, deflect the green is the stupidest idea in gaming in a long time and those dragon segments are just an insult. Also, I’m happy Bethesda saved time and CPU cycles not baking lighting, but it got offloaded to gamers’ computers for dubious benefit. I have eyes, I see how 2016 and Eternal look, please tell me how much of a graphic improvement the endless glitching fields of darkness are. I wouldn’t buy a game for more than 15€ if it’s top notch (patient gamer here), but I don’t see myself playing this ever, it just evokes a sadness. The story of Eternal (the only game of the recent trilogy I actually liked) was a huge Marvel-caliber turd and I skipped every cutscene, so I’m not expecting anything in that department.
I finished my first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. I absolutely love the setting for the game and hopefully they'll make a sequel. Cyberpunk is going to join the very small selection of games I immediately replay. I just need to figure out how to do mods on Bazzite first.
I hated it, barely pulled through. Great looking game with a wonderfully designed open world and it falls apart if you engage it with any planning. It should have been a linear game, it would waste less time, the only missions worth playing are in the main quest, all of the rest is flimsiest filler, a few dudes standing around waiting for something to happen that you can hack from a distance without them realizing what’s happening. It’s more padding than pudding and it’s way too easy once you level up a few times. Even the story is very uneven in quality across the game, there’s missions that deserve to be a novel, but many are just ridiculously cheap saturday morning cartoon-level trope deployments.
So, I’ve spent over 2 hours on Steam searching for a nice game to play. But it’s all junk, as far as I’m fed with Steam recommendations. I liked ksp2 1, cities skylines 1, age of empires 2, baldurs gate 3 a lot, I just finished Divinity original sin 2. I like rpgs and management / factory games like workers and resources,...
Within an enthusiast bubble, PC handhelds are a big deal, but they do not exist in the same universe as Nintendo consoles.
I keep hearing this shit and it seems like stupid wishful thinking, because in a locked-down universe where Switch 2 is not a shitty proposition for way too much cash compared to getting a PC with 10k+ PC games from the get go and also emulating anything you wish because it’s your hardware and it’s just bits - in that universe, Polygon is a much needed pool of experts that people go to for advice instead of a source of stupid ragebait titles telling them a log of shit is the new snickers.
Nintendo will not have true competition in handhelds until its peers in the console space get involved.
Hardly ruin, you have to purposefully go find them gloating over Steam charts. But it’s too funny that people really have choice enough now in the good graphics segment that Ubisoft is sinking. It’s my fault, I cursed them when they left Steam for their 4-UAC-prompts-whenever-you-start PoS. They showed total contempt for their users with Breakpoint, tried an nft grift on the side, evolved all cosmetics to clown shoes level and totally failed to offer anything new. Where’s Reflextions? Stuff like Grow Up / Home, metroidvanias on UbiArt Framework? They have great 3D engines and can’t keep a team happy or unfired enough to have people that know how to use it and optimize a game and are able to take some risks with game design. It’s all either heavily monetized multiplayer dreck or incremental QoL features in ever larger and shallower sandboxes in one of few large franchise flavors. There’s not that much to discuss, woo bamboo cutting tech, a new coat of paint and some gimmicks. People claiming it’s failing because it’s either woke or culture appropriating are ascribing cultural import to a happy meal.
I quite like it. Once you get used to the timings of actions you can be quite fast and fluid in combat and it’s good enough to carry the game by itself, much better gunplay than gta. And the story is not the worst, though it is a slog occasionaly. Graphics do a lot of heavy lifting
I’ve played Avowed for 15 hours, and this is the most fun I’ve had in an RPG since Skyrim released. It might not be as good as Skyrim, but it has a very similar feel for me, and I’ve encountered zero bugs so far. I’m having an absolute blast!...
Two was horrible, the end boss skeleton is the stupidest shit. I liked the first, endured the second to the end and never touched the third or Andromeda
I fully expect it to be a mediocre shooter with some good environmental puzzles and nice graphics, Starfield had 85+/100 reviews before coming out. We’ll find out once it actually releases, in two years with all of the hypothetical DLC included for 15€. Bethesda can fuck right off with their 50€ offerings.
They also don’t have enough games for their last generation to justify a new console, it’s a lot of work populating a library and their ex-exclusives are now playable on Deck. Which, even if it didn’t have thousands of games out of the gate, would actually be a cool mobile PC with guaranteed Linux drivers.
I know and don’t mind the jokes, you folks are doing a good job on communities that I follow. I started “teachers” and “education” subreddits a lifetime ago with a free-speech-absolutist mindset and quickly realized that they become a cesspool without someone grinding through reports 24/7.
