Pretty surprised, I was kind of expecting it to slip past its supposed spring release just due to its enormous success. Excited to play drm-free, especially after all of the rave reviews.
It’s definitely much more polished than the first installment. I’ve played for around 40 hours so far and can probably count the bugs I’ve encountered so far on one hand.
It gets too easy too fast IMO. I haven’t done much of the main quest yet but I’m already a invincible human tank and killing armored enemies with single hits. I might swap my sword with a lower tier weapon to get a bit of the challenge back.
Me and my friend continued our Halo Legendary Difficulty “project”. Now that Halo 2 is done, we’re making lightning speed on Halo 3. We’ve gone from almost half a year for the entirety of Halo 2, too 3 more levels left of Halo 3. I also just found out that Halo 3 has 4 player multiplayer, so i’ll have to recruit a few...
Yes. I’ve completed every Halo game up to 4 on Legendary and 2 was by far the worst. It’s a miracle my controller survived without getting smashed to pieces.
Definitely deserved. I’ve played it for 10+ hours so far and it’s such an improvement on the already excellent first game. It even runs much better on the same hardware.
Pretty sure the first game was just not optimized very well. I can run KCD2 at a very stable 60+ FPS on my RTX 3060 on high/ultra settings. The first one had about 20 FPS less in comparable environments. Not too surprising, considering that it was the dev team’s first CryEngine project. It’s notoriously hard to work with.
The first game didn’t even run at a stable 60FPS on high settings on my trusty RTX3060. There was almost no noticeable difference to medium though, so I’ll stick with that.
None so far but the first game ran great with Proton. Since the engine is still the same and there’s no DRM or anticheat, I’m pretty sure this one will run great as well.
I finished Control today. I have to say that i’m incredibly disappointed in myself for sleeping on it for so long. The game is awesome and i can’t conceive a reason why i had ever put it down. I love the amazing gameplay with all the OOP. They’re the kind of originality i love Remedy for. I started the foundation DLC today...
Control is such a gorgeous game. One of the few games that I 100%ed in recent years. The gameplay loop is insanely fun but it did get a bit repetitive towards the end.
I’m a huge OG Mafia fan as well (I even ran the “official” Subreddit). I thought the sequels and the remake were pretty good with the exception of Mafia 3. It was a solid game by itself but not really as part of this series IMO.
It looks like the inbred cousin of the Xbox “Duke” that ended up being surprisingly ergonomical. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely hope it’s something close to that. Most controllers are too small for me.
It’d be cool if controllers could just be adjustable size
True, especially in width. I remember being extremely disappointed when I bought a PS3 and could barely play it because the joysticks so close together that my thumbs were constantly touching. I think the total amount of hours played on this system was somewhere in the double digits. Biggest waste of money of my gaming career.
Yeah, that’s the one. The Original Xbox Duke and the X360 controller are the GOATs imo. The Xbox One controller is also fairly decent but it took a while to get used to it.
Fair enough, but the dpad on the 360 one was an improvement compared to the one from the Duke.
I was mostly ranking them in regards to general ergonomics. The Xbox One controller just feels more “slippery”, the 360 had a better feel to it, probably because the handles were more rounded.
Gamestar, the largest German gaming site, recently stated that they are very optimistic about the game and that the preview they got to play behind closed doors was excellent. Maybe it looks a bit outdated, but that was also the case for the previous titles when they came out.
I enjoyed the combat system overall but it got very tedious and unfair if you got attacked by more than two people at the same time. I suppose it’s realistic, but it wasn’t really fun when you had to “lock on” to multiple enemies.
It takes a bit to get used to. The first thing I do on a new playthrough is go to train with Bernard right away until my sword skill is high enough. You can forget using the sword before that, it’s a night-and-day difference. Once you get to the point where you’re running around with a set of full armor, you’re basically human tank. I actually killed the first boss in one hit once lol.
I was just wondering if we’re gonna get any news of the prequel during Gamescom. So glad to hear that it was not among the games 2K cancelled earlier this year. Hangar13 did great with the Mafia Remake so I am extremely hyped for this.
That and the fact that the whole studio packed up and moved to the Czech Republic in the middle of development. It’s been pretty rough but I’m positive that the game will turn out fine.
Check out Core Decay. It’s still in development but from what I’ve seen it follows the Deus Ex formula down to a T. Probably the game I’m most excited about at the moment.
