Sony already owns Crunchyroll. Giving a corporation this much control over anime/manga would be disastrous.

Adored the game. It’s fun and I love the chill vibes. I wish the in-game map was a bit better to make navigation easier.

I’m all for cat games. Stray, Little Kitty Big City – gimme more!

A dumpster fire of a situation. 8 years of development, $400 million reported budget, game shut down after 2 weeks and now the studio closed.

AAA gaming is a hot mess right now.

Greatly appreciate the followup!

Random Screenshots of my Games #36 - Kona (lemmy.world)

Kona is a supernatural detective story, taking place in Northern Quebec in October 1970. You play as Carl Faubert, a private investigator from Montreal and a veteran from the Korean War. He’s hired by the wealthy industrialist, William Hamilton, to come to Atamipek Lake and investigate a simple vandalism issue. Most of...

The article undersells the amount that’s been leaked. Taking a look at the X/Twitter account the article linked to, there are beta sprites of gen 3/4/5 Pokemon being shared. Allegedly the source code for Black 2/White 2 is out there as well.

Random Screenshots of my Games #21 - Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (lemmy.world)

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an incredible game dealing with psychosis and mental trauma. It’s about a Celtic girl named Senua who is journeying to the Viking Hel to bargain with Hela for the life of her lost love. She literally carries his head in a cloth tied to her belt....

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Started Hellblade II during the weekend. Visually it’s the most impressive game I’ve played so far.

What I struggle with is keeping up with the story and all of the runestones and dialogue and everything. I enjoyed Hellblade I but had to go through the plot on Wikipedia after completing the game to understand what I had just played.

Random Screenshots of my Games #12 - POOLS (lemmy.world)

I’m jumping into psychological horror today, with a walking simulator called POOLS. This game has no jump scares, no monsters. It’s just dark (and sometimes bright), liminal spaces that give you an eerie, creeped-out vibe, themed around indoor pools with unnaturally dark waters. The longer you walk through this maze of...

Tried the demo for it a while ago. So eerie.

Definitely want to give it a try in the future.

Day 76 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (Bulk photo Post 2: Variety Hour) (lemmy.world)

Today’s game is Alan Wake. Both in preparation for Halloween and my heart’s one desire to play Alan Wake II, I am replying through the first one again on nightmare difficulty....

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Plan on playing Alan Wake’s American Nightmare?

I played it a few days ago. Been a while since I played AW and I enjoy Remedy’s games so it was worth checking out for me.

I thought it was alright. Aside from the main character, the voice acting is ridiculously goofy.

PS5 Homescreen Now Replaces Unique Video Game Art With Annoying Ads You Can’t Turn Off (www.ign.com)

Wow, this is awful. Some people reported that these ads are also very petty and not necessarily related to the game, like apparently Elden Ring shows an ad for a licensed mousepad when you hover over the game now…...

lazycouchpotato,

$80/yr subscription to play online

30% cut from all sales

Ads on homescreen

Lackluster game library, busy remastering perfectly good games

Single purpose device

PS5 will be my last ever console. I don’t see the value proposition in consoles anymore with the rise of PC handhelds.

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Geez. Awful use of resources remastering games that already look great.

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Surprised to see it 98% off. I thought Steam capped discounts to 90% a few years ago?

I had an F310 and I disliked it haha. Never found it to be ergonomic.

20 Small Mazes

If you’re looking to kill a couple hours and love puzzle games, give 20 Small Mazes a go. I really enjoyed the variety.

Best of all, it’s free.

Day 36 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (Jedi Fallen Order) (lemmy.world)

Took this relatively early on, but while in the At-At i noticed the Storm Troopers in the chairs looked a little off while i was messing with the camera mode. You can definitely tell i’m not supposed to look too long at them. I thought it was cool though. Slap a Parental advisory logo on there and you have Album Art

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Enjoyed Jedi Fallen Order. Definitely got my butt kicked towards the end in terms of game difficulty.

Can anyone suggest some good co-op games for two people?

Hello all! My buddy and I finally finished up Baldur’s Gate 3 this week and we are not left with a giant co-op game shaped whole in our hearts. It was such an incredible experience and it was truly even more fun running through it together. We are excited to hop into another game, but we have no idea what to play. We’ve...

I enjoyed playing Toodee and Topdee with my roommate. Fun puzzle game. Can be played singleplayer or multiplayer. store.steampowered.com/app/…/Toodee_and_Topdee/

Minecraft Dungeons is also quite fun for co-op. store.steampowered.com/app/…/Minecraft_Dungeons/

lazycouchpotato,

On the same boat.

I definitely want to go back and complete it some day.

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah it’s been wonky for me as well on the default Lemmy web UI.

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Xbox takes a 30% cut from devs, has ads on its console and wants to charge a subscription for online gaming (now raising its price by 25%). Can’t triple dip like this, Microsoft.

Haven’t renewed PS Plus either since its price hike. Just gonna play disc games on my PS5 till the end of its lifespan.

Greetings fay folk of the fediverse, It's the , to honor this celebration of the indie spirit, let's share our mutual experiences, and talk about the games that impressed you the most today

Both look great. Thanks for introducing me to them! Wishlisted them.

This would be a re-remaster (re-remake?) considering Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary released in 2011 was a remake of the original 2001 game.

Platypus Reclayed Steam page is up – remake of the 2002 game (store.steampowered.com)

22 years after its first appearance, the iconic Platypus is coming back, featuring updated gameplay, new weapons and additional content. Get ready to dive into the heart-pounding action of this fast, frantic, and incredibly fun arcade-style shoot-em-up!

Loved playing this game as a kid. Made a post about it 10 years ago on /r/Gaming.

Glad to see it get a remake.

Report: Warner Bros. Execs Thought Suicide Squad Would Make A Ton Of Money Despite Development Woes (kotaku.com)

Anyone who played Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League could probably guess that something went terribly wrong during development. Bloomberg now reports that the multiplayer bomb from a studio beloved for its single-player Batman: Arkham games was plagued by several issues leading up to its repeatedly delayed launch....

Last I checked, this was a singleplayer game. Why is Sony so adamant on an account?

Interesting! Didn’t realize you can tap on any letter anywhere. I thought it was like !nytstrands first where the letters have to be in a line.

Make a community for it! I’m sure people would happily join it.

How big is that backlog?

Mine crossed 1500 recently 😅

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah I collect all the free games that Epic gives out, plus other random freebies and game bundles.

Will I go through all 1500 in my lifetime? Absolutely not.

Which game(s) are you currently playing?

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Gift article I found online.

The part that interests me is this:

Jill Braff, head of ZeniMax studios, said in the town hall that she hoped the reorganization would allow the division, which also develops Fallout and Doom, to put more focus on fewer projects. “It’s hard to support nine studios all across the world with a lean central team with an ever-growing plate of things to do,”

Why gobble up so many studios to consolidate into a gaming megacorp, then get gobbled up yourself by Microsoft? What’s the purpose of acquiring so many studios and holding onto so much IP if you can’t handle them?

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

Java is quite popular online due to all the mods and the videos people upload to YouTube using those mods, but I believe in terms of number of users, Bedrock outscores it quite a bit. The barrier to entry is lower – $7 on iOS/Android and most people have phones.

lazycouchpotato,
@lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world avatar

This looks so good. I’m drawn to games with unique art styles.
