Today’s game is Halo: Reach. I got my friends together to get the Par Time and Scores for the campaign. We did it without much hassle. We only had to redo New Alexandria and even then it wasn’t too bad. It was a fun experience to do. I also went through Solo to get all the Datapads, but that’s way less entertaining and...
Today’s game is some Mario Kart 64. I had a long day and wanted to take it easy, so i did a few races. It was easy up until Banshee boardwalk. Still, it was nice. I’ve always had a soft spot for DK Jungle Parkway especially (i have a soft spot for like all the tracks though) because of this bridge + waterfall. For some...
Spaghetti Kart (The Recompilation I play on) has a Track Maker i think and i believe you can share tracks between players, but i’m not sure how good any of the custom tracks are.
The newer ones are pretty but there’s too much going on in many of the tracks (and I’m really not fond of the flying/water thing they do either).
I do agree though about the newer ones, it has way too much going on in the courses. Furthermore, Me and My friends are in disagreement but i think the roster is too big and there’s too many tracks
I think Mario Kart 64 is honestly just very foundational of a Mario Kart. Besides the controls being iffy, it really just plays well, has solid all around courses, music, and a nice selection of characters. Plus it’s where we see a lot of the modern powerups i think
It’s the first I’m hearing of it but it sounds interesting. I usually take issue with my Mario Kart games having too many tracks (I find people usually pick 1 favorite and spam that when there’s too many plus just makes a decision hard and overwhelming), but i do think that’d be interesting to have all those tracks ported
Today’s game is some more Assassin’s Creed III Remastered. I went through New York and got some more collectibles. I need to really set down and get them because besides that i just have to grab the feathers and do the Story (and naval missions). The liberation missions are more annoying though in New York. It feels like...
Rogue is definitely a weak game, and i say that as someone who enjoyed Rogue. I tried to 100% it too and got stumped. It’s a shame, because the idea of making unique last gen games in series is something I think was a good idea for players who can’t get newer hardware, just the execution was kind of poor.
I recently bought a PS3 just for the first 3 Uncharted games (I always play 4 on PC). But yeah, the Steam Deck has been my first gaming PC for a long time so i totally get it’s reliability (i bought it on launch). I only recently built a Gaming PC, and the deck is getting a well earned retirement as a Visual Novel and Halo PvP machine.
Today’s game is some more Assassin’s Creed III. My 3 day Halo streak has been broken (Though, those are some of my favorite screenshots i’ve taken yet. I keep going back into theater to take more). Speaking of theater though, you know what i wish would become normalized in Remasters? Photo modes. I would love to have a...
Today’s game is some more Halo (Mostly Reach). More? Yeah, we had some friends who weren’t able too join last night so we did some more rounds today. It was fun. We got some friends who are new to Halo joining us too. I think though it may have been unbalanced (I’ve done all the campaigns on Legendary, they touched CE on...
i found it when i was trying to do my Sub 3 hours Halo 3 Legendary run with friends. It was super handy for tracking it. I’ve also found the MCC Achievement Tracker pretty handy. It’s made collecting my 477/700 achievements just a little bit easier.
Good luck with CE Laso by the way. I did the first 2 levels with a friend and got stumped on the third, i know how hard it can be
It’s a good time. A lot of the people in my group swear by CE, but i personally feel like Reach clicks for me (along with 3).
There’s not much better than Reach with the boys.
I completely get that. In a broader sense, It’s just chill to have a PvP game where everyone is just relaxed with eachother. None of us are really trying super hard to win and aren’t really metagaming. It makes for a unique experience. Reach i think was definitely where that made a peak though.
I remember my first run of Platinum. I was sitting in the car when i beat it. Congrats on the completion, idk about you but i struggled really with that last fight.
You did a lot better than I did building your team lol. I just built my team based off of what I thought looked cool. I think I had a Torterra, Chime-Cho, Gardevoir, Vaporeon, and a couple that I’d cycle in and out
Today’s game is some more Halo: Reach. I had a bunch more screenshots, but the game has been buggy lately under proton and I had to do some finagling to get it functional. Good news is the game runs perfectly on my rig at 5120 x 2880. Bad news is that the theater modes all decided to corrupt half of all the films. The only one...
Today’s game is Halo 3. I had this whole thing planned for today like i did with Reach, but the Cloud Flare outage stopped me from getting on (as of now pixelfed is still offline). I suppose i spent the time being productive at least. I wrote a few commands, one too upload pictures to Pixelfed from the terminal, one too sort...
I’d have to take a look. They’re nothing fancy, just some simple bash scripts that go through the folder and do some actions. The Pixelfed one though has an API key in it though so I’ll have to see if I can remove it (my codes a bit of a mess. In hindsight that was not A great practice)
Today’s game is some more Assassin’s Creed III. After yesterday’s post, i went back to this game. I’m going to try and 100% this one like i did with Black Flag. I think my younger self would be proud. It shouldn’t be too much work, this was before Ubisoft’s “Here’s 800 chests and 300 side quests with the...
Today’s game is Halo Reach. And when i say Halo Reach, i mean the entire campaign on Heroic in one night. It was a fun experience. I’ve already talked tons about Reach before, so instead i wanted to do today as a little montage reel of moments with my friends from it instead. We redid our spartans for this and even made our...
When we played CE i’d see how much of the wall i could paint with the enemies blood like some sadistic game of Splatoon. I was playing on MCC so i never ran into the Frame drop, but i recently got an OG copy of CE, so if i can find an OG xbox i might test this
If talking just general favorites, i’d have to say Reach is tied with 3 for me. 3 just feels like a general all around good experience. Reach is so fucking good though. Like you said, we come to care for the characters. It kind of does this tightrope act of Hope and Hopelessness, and at the very end it gives a little hope while making a sacrifice.
I love that Noble 6 is your multiplayer character too, it really serves to make it feel a lot more personal which helps to aid the themes. You’re not Master Chief with a history and Epic feats, you’re just… you (or a stand in of some sort). It’s not Noble 6 getting close to everyone, it’s you getting close. It’s not noble 6 making the sacrifice for the pillar of autumn to escape, it’s you. At least in a philosophical sense, or at least that’s how i always viewed it. Even my spartan is a reflection of myself in a way (For example the tiger themed paint job is because i think Tigers are the coolest big cat).
by the end of it, we’re more worried about fucking the other person over than whatever we originally wanted to do
Also, yeah. I agree with that. Halo does a good job making you and your buddy’s fuck eachother over and become the enemy. It’s admirable that it can juggle both that and the good story telling.
Today’s game is some more Assassin’s Creed III. I did the Brazil section today, and i noticed something. I’m sure like, everyone else noticed this before me but during Desmond’s segments there’s a lack of UI elements because he’s not in the Animus (except the notification indicators. It’d be cruel to not have...
AC4 always kind of struck me less as morality motivated and more just a story of Edward’s growth as a person. There is of course, some there, but not like with the other games.
Unity was where I feel it started to decline. I did enjoy the story but that ending definitely wasn’t very good. (speaking at least from a purely AC stand point. I’ve only played FC4, FC3, and part of 5)
True to that. Having worked in stadiums before at games, they usually don’t stay that neatly sorted. I was just impressed from a hardware perspective was all
When the game launched I did all the trading. Idk how I managed too because it’s trading is so confusing sometimes. I love that AC4 streamlined a lot of it
Some of them I wonder if they got burned trying to be good people once and then just let that sour all their opinions. I suppose that’s a bit of an edgy “all it takes is one bad day” take, but it is something I’ve wondered.
I do agree a lot with your take though. Shitty and horrible people have realized they can get away with being shitty and horrible. So they don’t hide it. Maybe it’s just the cost of me growing up but it’s disheartening to see it happening with so many people.
As you said, it at least makes it easier to root them out, even if we’re forced to interact with them
It’s a Ubisoft game so if you don’t have a copy anymore you can at least rest assured it will be dirt cheap during the next sale (or of course there’s always other options).
It always struck me as odd that they did that with their games. They’d go from a 60$ release to “here’s a 5$ price tag for a month” almost instantly.
I guess I’m not complaining as it lets me enjoy my guilty pleasure games affordably. But still. Doesn’t strike me as a smart business decision
Today’s game is some more Assassin’s Creed 3. After finishing up the modern segment (which was surprisingly short) I headed down to the basement to look at the new costumes the Remaster Provided. They had them on racks that were there in the first game. It made me wonder if they removed costumes for the racks or they added...
As far as I know. There’s the modern day bit in Black Flag/Rogue, but as much as I liked those I can’t really say they’re Gameplay Segments. More so walking Sims with a few collectibles.
I briefly remember getting to climb around in the modern day in AC Origins but it was really brief
I really like Black Flags, but I totally get why people don’t get it. After that it took a back seat (became relegated to cutscenes for Unity-Syndicate)
Just minutes before it was set to deliver its financial results for the first half of its 2025-26 fiscal year, Ubisoft mashed the brakes on the whole thing, postponing the release of its results to an unspecified future date. The company also requested that European exchange Euronext halt trading of the company’s shares and...
It’s disappointing. I’ve been going through some of their older catalog recently and it just has a lot more passion behind it i feel.
AC Shadows felt like when i write an essay, where i get really motivated at the start, completely drop off and try to stuff the middle with as much as possible to reach the page count, then get motivated again at the end just to finish the conclusion. They always had their bugs, but lately it’s felt soulless.
Today’s game is some more Assassin’s Creed III. I got to the first modern section. These sections make me wish we got more of them. I honestly wouldn’t mind a game fully in modern times. Though Watchdogs kind of felt like that....
When Valhalla released I got a copy because I hadn’t played an AC game since Syndicate and thought a Viking one would be fun. I decided to go in blind. I got maybe 30 hours in and checked how far along I was after stopping and going “no way the story is that long”, and nope. It is that long.
I was going to return it but never got around to it. Both my younger brothers ended up playing it through to completion though, so I suppose it found a home at least
The Skyscraper and Brazil ones are the most memorable ones too me. I briefly remember the final one too but only really a section where you’re climbing around in rafters.
That’s how I am with my grounded run of The Last of Us 2 and finishing Silent Hill f. I started a game of Stellaris and haven’t picked them back up in my free time.
The evolution was disappointing. I didn’t really care for origins but was happy others were enjoying it, and then the ball just got dropped
As big of a fan of the franchise as i am, i’m a bit embarrassed to admit the only game of the first 4 i had played is Revelations and the first half of 1, so i suppose i don’t have much to base it on
I completely forgot about those. I know they were a thing in Black Flag, and I remember them in Unity and I think syndicate. I’m not sure about Valhalla, but knowing Ubisoft…
I know I’m not really required to buy it, but idk. Something about it being there cheapened the experience for me when it was in a game.
Following on from the success of the Steam Deck, Valve is creating its very own ecosystem of products. The Steam Frame, Steam Machine, and Steam Controller are all set to launch in the new year. We’ve tried each of them and here’s what you need to know about each one....
I would love the Machine as a case for PCs. I’m not sure how feasible it is (knowing PCs probably not) but i’ve already got a gaming PC that’s far more powerful in terms of GPU and RAM. I’d love to be able to shove it in there and have the best of both. That light on the front has me especially interested despite just being a light
Today’s game is Max Payne 2. I did the fun house today. Made Mona shoot a flamingo. Surprisingly the game went by really fast tonight. It took me a total of 40 minutes to do the funhouse and then manor sections, which i think are a total of 3 levels. I forget how short these games can be once you kind of know what you’re...
I did actually do that for some posts, but people like to guess the game so i stopped doing that. The middle ground i reached was just putting the game in the first sentence (and if i remember bolding it too)
These last few years i think i’ve started to develop a love of Linear Shooters, or games in general. There’s something charming about them compared to Open World games. Not to say Open World games are bad. but i’ve definitely been burnt out on them with how many we have now
Today’s game is some Assassin’s Creed III. This was what i had lined up to play after Max Payne 2, and initially i was going to play some more of that. But i had decided to set this up ahead of time. Then… i decided to make sure it works… and i kind of lost track of time. These games are kind of my Guilty pleasure. I...
I do agree with you. There’s just too many games that don’t respect the players time. Though, i guess i don’t really have much room to speak while playing a Ubisoft game (they’re the worst about that, especially now).
Speaking of Ghost of Tsushima i’ve been wanting to get the PC version. I borrowed the PS4 version from my local library and played through the whole thing in like 2022 which was fun. Maybe with the next sale. Playing back to back with friends makes games more fun too. Occasionally i’ll go back and visit older Pokemon games with friends and we’ll get this whole little ecosystem setup for trading and stuff.
