this is the first i’m hearing about SurrounDead. I just looked it up, i’ll have to pick it up at some point, especially with multiplayer coming at some point apparently
it’s a lot of fun. It has a really good formula that makes being repetitive work in it’s favor i feel like, because you’re constantly kept on edge to not break that pattern
i’m excited for Build 42. Having animals will be really nice for making the world feel fuller. Sometimes, at least in my opinion, it’s painfully obvious when it’s just you, a few other players, and the zombies
I continued with Episode 3 of Alan Wake today. I took quite a few photos, as the free cam mode i feel like really let me explore the game. The primary screenshot i picked was of the FBI helicopter, as with the freecam i felt like it allowed me to get an up close angle of the helicopter i wouldn’t normally see....
I did Episode 2 of Alan Wake today. The screenshot is of the sawmill in the park. My assumptions were right about it ramping up in difficulty on nightmare. I found myself dying a lot more in this episode, and enemies are bullet sponges I feel like. Rusty alone took up about 3 clips of headshots. I think it may have been a lot...
Nightmare though, at least for me, isn’t as difficult as I expected it to be. It’s a nice challenge up from Normal mode I’ve been making my way through and cleaning out my Backlog. I have over 250 games I need to play. So I try and stick with just one and work through it
I like to keep journals for my game which is (part of) what helps me keep track of all my games. Though, at your suggestion I might hold off, especially with how I forgot how short the first game is (I can probably clear an episode a day, unless nightmare mode suddenly ramps up in difficulty, which I wouldn’t be surprised if it does)
I found after the first episode it becomes much less horror and far more Thriller (if that makes sense). I don’t believe it ever relies on cheap tricks like in your face jump scares to scare you, so a lot of the thrill comes from the action. The atmosphere definitely adds to it though
The original. The Remaster looks impressive except everyone has bug eyes and it bothers me. Also I can only get it through Epic afaik, so I’d rather stick with the original where I know it’s guaranteed to work
Hi, I’m the original guy (or as far as i believe i am). Just to give confirmation to what you said, If ever people get tired of the posts or mods would just prefer i take them elsewhere, just let me know and I’ll move them without any argument
Today’s game is Alan Wake. Both in preparation for Halloween and my heart’s one desire to play Alan Wake II, I am replying through the first one again on nightmare difficulty....
I’ve played a bit of Alan Wake II (I had to drop it on launch because it ate through my battery and I couldn’t fit it in), so I’m aware how different the gunplay is. Though I have to say I think I much more prefer the Jank, it has character (though American Nightmare has my favorite controls by far. They feel like a refined version of Alan Wake I’s)
As for the ending of Alan Wake 1 spoiling AW2 this is actually my 4th play through (about. I lost count by this point) so I’m not too worried about spoiling anything because ive already seen the ending a bunch of times
Oh yeah. Now that I mention it I think I remember that. There’s an Alan Standee near it too I think. Interesting to think they were at least that far planned ahead with the DLCs. I always assumed they were a Post Release decision
Have fun with the replay btw! I may be biased but the series is one of the greatest imo
I’m considering it since I found out Alan Wake II is way longer than Alan Wake 1. It might be worth popping into for a day. Especially since it’s so quick
Today’s game is New Vegas, and it also marks the end of New Vegas for me. For the screenshot I originally considered doing my ending slideshow, but I thought that might 1) contain too many spoilers (though I doubt there’s many people that haven’t played it) and 2) make for too long of a post as I got almost all the slides....
It has a video cutscene that’s similar, But it is very disappointing and bare compared to New Vegas. You get either 1 of 3 video cutscenes depending on if you sided with the institute or someone else (and the players gender), then next 3 are always the same, then the final one changes based on your gender. Really simple. We don’t get any sort of cutscene telling us what happened after to companions, or summarizing quests. It’s really disappointing, at least to me.
I already want to do another play through lol. I’m going to hold off though because I know I’ll get burned out midway through and also because I want to move onto my next game
I try to avoid posting anything that’s a major spoiler (so a lot of my posts are “here’s X characters” or “here’s a landscape shot of Y location”) and I leave the spoilers too the text so if someone who will be spoiled sees it they can see it and go “oh. That’s a spoiler. I better stop reading”. I’d use the built in spoiler button by for whatever reason my client doesn’t like to register that I press it and typing out the text spoilers by hand is a lot to remember for me.
Today’s game is New Vegas. I’m cleaning up some things before beating completing the story. Namely achievements so I don’t have to do as many on my next round trip....
I considered it (I did the same for Dead Money for both of Elijah’s Achievements) but I’m planning on wrapping my way through again to get achievements for different damage types anyways. I figured doing a unarmed based build would be far easier than going around punching things with 25 in unarmed
Nope. Entirely Vanilla. I try to avoid modding until I fully beat the game at least once. Plus I had a headache with Modding Skyrim on my Steam Deck so I try to avoid it now unless I really want a mod
She’s got a lot of character which I like. Especially compared to Veronica (my previous favorite because of how her lore ties into Dead Money) I feel like there was a lot of depth to Cass, Especially in her quest.
Today’s game is Fallout New Vegas. I was stuck at home all day and laid in bed playing through the entirety of Lonesome Road (wouldn’t have been possible without the Steam Deck!). I got a ton of Screenshots, so I decided that I would just share multiple photos...
Honestly I really enjoyed it. It had a different tone than the base game or the other DLCs and I really enjoyed the linearity of it too. The story was really good too. I liked finding out what the courier did there and then talking to Ulysses in the final confrontation. I feel like being able to talk him down using multiple checks is a good showcase of the freedom of the games.
I also thought the elevator ride with the tunnelers was a fun change of pace too. It felt like a fun gauntlet and the explosions only made it more cinematic.
I loved how everything connected together in the DLCs and you can draw a path of where Ulysses had been (like his own road) and see who he affected
Performance wise I can get about 3.5 Hours out of it on Medium Settings, Refresh Rate 40hz, TDP set to 10, and clock speed at 1000.
Big wise I’ve had a few bugs, nothing too major and I suspect it was just New Vegas being New Vegas (except for one I had where VATS would crash the game. I had to repair the filesystem for that)
I enjoyed his conversations, but I can get why people may find it annoying. He jumps in so much. And a couple of times it was right before combat too so afterwards you were flung straight into combat.
I went back to Fallout New Vegas today. I’m hoping to wrap it up before I start to miss the game and so I can move onto either FF 7 Remake or Alan Wake II. Unfortunately I caught something last night and I wasn’t in the mood to start Lonesome Road, so I went back and grabbed an achievement I missed in Old World blues and...
I just sped through the entirety of Old World Blues today (I’m currently stuck at home). It was a lot of fun. I ended up sparing Ulysses but sacrificed ED-E to stop the bombs (I’m trying to be as morally good as possible for this play through, and though I didn’t side with the legion, idk if the fallout from the bomb would hit innocent people).
I played the first Alan Wake about 2012 when I was still in elementary school. Ever since then it’s been one of my favorite games of all time (Though, if given the choice between it and American Nightmare idk which I would choose). I currently have a save for control and enjoy it a lot, but I can’t find it in me to stick with it past maybe a few sessions lasting a week, so it has been a very slow burn game for me. I also have Quantum Break in my library from a Humble Bundle and I picked up Max Payne with the last Steam Sale, so those are lined up somewhere too.
4 was my first fallout. Got it passed down from a family member for the PS4, and played through the entire thing. Had maybe over 200 hours in it. Then I got a hand me down PS3 from the same family member with a copy of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. I’m disappointed though to say it took a few more years for it to stick to me as younger me was very stingy about the games he would play.
I think New Vegas being made by the remains of Black Isle allowed it to pick up some cool ideas and also grow the old ideas involving the west coast lore, while carrying what Bethesda constructed from scratch with 3, at least that’s my personal opinion.
Fanatical (if you are comfortable with going through external resellers for steam Keys) currently has a GOTY bundle with both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas’s GOTY. I got New Vegas GOTY for a friend and picked up Fallout 3 GOTY for myself somewhere down the line
I played a brief while after picking it up on Epic, but dropped it because it ate through my battery and I didn’t have time to figure out performance on launch. I did spoil myself on the connection of Control too Alan Wake (I’d rather sacrifice Control’s plot for the sake of my Alan Wake II experience), so I’m aware of a lot of the stuff, or can at least draw my own conclusions and fill in gaps.
Max Payne though I can’t say I know much about except I know the character Sam Lake plays in AWII is heavily inspired by Max Payne, that Max Payne takes pain killers to heal, and something about wife and kids I think?
Today’s game is the very First Lego Batman. I’m taking a break from Fallout New Vegas so I don’t speed through the whole thing and decided to relax after a 5 Hour Coding Marathon for a class with this....
The Game is Fallout New Vegas. I finally beat Dead Money. Just like how I started it I decided this would be an appropriate screenshot to end with. I ended up taking off with the gold after killing Elijah the first time for the achievement(Took him out using some C4 I planted and detonated on him). It took me a while but I...
Today’s game is Zomboid. I’m finding it hard to let go of Dead Money (fully intended). Me and my friend continued the story of Cable and Jerry tonight instead....
It’s way more fun with friends. I have a lot of fun by myself though trying to survive and see how far I can make it. Somewhere down the line they plan to (re)add NPCs so that should liven things up too
I’m so excited for Build 42. I’m a bit bummed that Multiplayer won’t be available from the start but I get that they want to focus on the base game before worrying about that avenue
