I don’t buy a lot of the big company games anyway, but if this becomes commonplace, what’ll happen is I’ll buy my big-company games second-hand so the benefit to the perpetrators is lessened.

Apparently in 2018 the devs stated publicly they’d never add paid content to the game. At least that’s what the fans state. I dunno.

I bought it a year ago, played it for ten hours. It’s a fun little game.

Yeah, feels like an overreaction to me, especially given the economic upheaval affecting the world since 2018.

Devs gotta eat and the game is not only good but fairly priced already.

My rule is I’m only willing to pay a dollar for every expected hour of play, so you can imagine I buy few things at full price.

The last two games I paid full price for were Elden Ring and Mandragora. I am far more likely to pay full price for an indie title that I’m excited about than anything else, because as an artist myself, I fully understand the impact of a pre-purchase on an indie studio.

Fuck 'em. I’m going to get a Steam Deck or a Lenovo handheld, and I’ll just enjoy the Nintendo products I already have. I’m not spending a small fortune on a console that they can brick remotely, or force me to buy a $50 proprietary charger for, or a “virtual game cartridge”.

DA:V was such a disappointment.

It was a Disneyfication of the world of Thedas, and none of us wanted a Dragon Age game with no meaningful choices and a G rating.

I think I’m going to get the Dead Space remake (90% off currently), Granny: Escape Together (I like horror), and Escape the Mad Empire to start.

Might pick up more later in the sale, but this will keep me busy.

The gameplay was ultimately just too annoying to me, which is a bummer because the ideas and aesthetic were exceedingly cool.

Mannequins scare the heck out of me.

Also, if you like mannequin horror, the game The Devil In Me is a must-play.

Demons Souls is so damn good.

The Tower of Latria is still one of my favorite dungeons ever made.

Nintendo’s single-minded determination to enshittify makes me want to wait to get the next Switch, TBH.

I know it won’t matter, as their core fan base will happily endure the bullshit changes they’re considering for another Zelda or Mario Kart, but it would be nice if enough people decide not to buy that it actually persuades the company to be a little more reasonable.

Jedi Fallen Order has no fast travel and the map sucks, do you often end up lost or backtracking.

Divinity Original Sin is also one that doesn’t guide the player particularly well.
