Kojima is talking about Death Stranding. Miyazaki is talking about one of the Dark Souls games. Itagaki is known for the early 2000s Ninja Gaidens and Dead or Alive, so I'm pretty sure this would have been in reference to Ninja Gaiden.

Well, you can thank Itagaki for that.

You don't see this kind of attitude as often in games these days. Maybe indies.

Life has been busy, and I've been taking my time with it too. I'm in act 2, but just barely.

You don't know how hard you're selling me on this game.

I think his biggest games were the early 2000s Ninja Gaidens and the Dead or Alive series.

Like Mario Maker level design rules.

Linux gamers on Steam finally cross over the 3% mark (www.gamingonlinux.com)

Free Windows 10 support ended for most people this past month, and the trend line of Linux usage has been quite clear leading up to this, as people prepared for the inevitable. An increase in Linux usage is also correlated to a drop in Chinese players, which did happen this month a little bit, but Linux usage is also trending up...

Some companies sell Linux prebuilts, like System76, but that's pretty niche for the average person to even know to search for.

Now, if stores like Best Buy had a section for Linux prebuilts, that would reach a lot of people.

Ooh, Lenovo is a much bigger deal.

The husband was one of her victims in the tournament too, so everyone in the house should be wary of crossing her.

Same. I played FPS games and caught up on my streaming backlog while my first slept on me. I didn't imagine that I'd be able to do stuff like that.

Huge congrats! Hang in there - everything gets easier soon.

Next week for sure.

It sadly happens in single player games too... People complain loudly that parts are too hard, then the devs put out nerfs in response.

A significant number of legendary bosses from the arcade and cartridge era are probably only famous because they were dialed up too hard and couldn't be tweaked after release, and I think it's more memorable that way.

I'm loving it, and the runbacks and difficulty just feel like standard metroidvania to me. Yeah, it takes time and caution, but that's just the genre.

Yeah, I can be pretty frugal with game purchases and will often wait for sales, but this one I didn't even have to think about. They're going to sell a bazillion copies at this price.

Link's uncle! From A Link to the Past.

The game starts with him leaving their house like this, then you find him later in the castle sewers:

Soulslikes are great if you're looking to scratch an itch for mechanical mastery, discovery, exploration, etc., but stories are not their strong suit. I'm not saying the stories are bad, just the delivery of them, unless you're the type of player who wants to play detective.

I think that's more than a fair point. AI is a tool, and I'm personally (tentatively) optimistic about what it will be capable of helping us with.

I think the distinction to be made in this case is when the use of a tool undermines the desired experience without us realizing it.

Like "I want to enjoy playing this game." > (uses cheats for a little bit) > "Now I don't enjoy playing it normally anymore."

Or "I want to be able to think critically." > (consults AI for everything) > "Now I have a hard time reasoning on my own."

I guess less of a walkthrough and more "here are the cheat codes".
