All the zombie dogs i had to kill🥲

lightnsfw, do gaming w I don't know if I have the strength to do it

Me just letting the bounty hunter dogs in RDR2 kill me if I wasn’t able to get away without shooting them.

kautau,

Now this makes me want a mod where you can hogtie the dog, bring it to camp, and slowly let it acclimate until it becomes a friendly and helpful companion

That’s really neatly made. What sort of stuff do you use it for?

fujiwood,

Thank you, I’m enjoying it.

I use a notebook to write down tasks, to-do’s, lists ie grocery, material or supplies for those tasks. I’ll also write ideas or crude sketches. The other day I was waiting for carry out with my niece and we played dots to pass the time.

Most of the time it isn’t anything special. I don’t journal(I’ve tried) or write down philosophical things(I haven’t tried). Just basic daily things.

@OmegaMouse@pawb.social avatar

That sounds really useful! Good to have a lightweight booklet for jotting things down at any time

PrecisePangolin, do edc w Passport Sized Notebook

Love the setup! What pen is that?

fujiwood,

Thanks! It’s the Everyman Grafton Mini Twist. I like it except for how slippery it is. They released a matte model that has a textured finish. I would recommend trying that one over the original.

It takes Parker style refills and I currently use Ohto PG-105NP.

PrecisePangolin,

Thank you so much!

MagnyusG, do gaming w I saved this meme ages ago and it's still relevant

is it? pretty sure the BR genre is still just dominated by the same big names that have been around for a while

Fortnite, Warzone, Apex, and maybe PUBG. Then you have the adjacent BRs like Naraka, Fall Guys and Rumbleverse (RIP). But again, none of those are new.

dustyData, do gaming w I saved this meme ages ago and it's still relevant

Yeah, that fad died. Now it’s extraction shooters.

Ah i remember those days

Stamets,
@Stamets@lemmy.world avatar

I had this in Warhammer 40k: Darktide the other day. I had VC, this guy didn’t and was on Xbox so typing was difficult. He was doing some really bizarre shit and I just said “Man what the hell are you doing?” And he just looked at me and crouched repeatedly, slowly, and stared and I just said “Okay” and followed him.

He knew of a shortcut on the map that none of us knew about that took us down some paths with a ton of items that were hella useful.

Aussiemandeus,
@Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone avatar

See that’s a great story, i worry things like that will have gone by the way side now.

I remember in halo accidentally shooting a team mate and crouching to apologise.

Weirdly in games that bought in waving etc, Day-Z etc if someone crouches i trust it if someoe waves i know they’re going to shoot my in the back

Stamets,
@Stamets@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah. Elden Ring applies to the waves too. Bows and crouches? Respect. Waves? They’re gonna be a toxic prick.

teft,
@teft@lemmy.world avatar

“Try jumping.”

That fucking message is either a long walk back or some good loot. God i love elden ring but i really hate the messages on the ground.

NakariLexfortaine,

Halo Crouching was really up in the air, though.

From an enemy, it could be a sign of trust. It could also be a taunt, telling you what to expect.

From a teammate, it could be “Wait, someones ahead”, or it could be “Imma kill him as he teabags you, and then Imma teabag both of you.”

You just never knew.

Grass,

This exact exchange in many games. What a nostalgia hit.

TaintPuncher,

Honestly, probably my favourite thing about the Titanfall 2 online community. Can be in a heated match but if you’re in a Titan and encounter an enemy pilot frantically crouching at you, you are honour-bound to start a crouching dance party.

It is the law.

IronicDeadPan,

Damnit, now I feel like an asshole…I would do this with people on opposing team when I played cod blops and mw2. I would get annoyed after a while and would drop my claymore or a grenade to get out of the situation. Always felt awkward, in a game to kill each other, but you want me to follow you around? Nah…

Swedneck,
@Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de avatar

this is like half the reason why DRG is so good, there’s so many rituals the community has developed and most of them have voice lines from mission control telling you to knock it off (which of course makes it that much funnier)

it’s kinda strange there’s no crouching though, i want to see my fellow dwarves crouching at light speed before doing something incredibly stupid

eldrichhydralisk, do games w The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion

I started up a new city in Cities Skylines 2. Trying to build a city mate up of little pit stops along the highway with no industrial zones at all. It’s been an interesting experiment so far! The game does track the jobs generated by retail and city services, so if you balance it just right you can have enough work to attract residents and use the highway connections to just barely generate enough sales for the commercial zones to stay profitable. And the city as a whole is getting closer and closer to a positive balance in the budget, so I might just pull this off…

Unless they do it on top of your corpse…

MotoAsh, do gaming w Oh trust me. I know your frustration better than you do.

Don’t call them gamers, that gives them credence and insults actual gamers. Call them what they are: insecure babies. There are many, many insecure babies with the exact same opinion that do not play games. They are worse than the gamer bros, because they’re out harassing people face to face.

The problem isn’t games or gamers or gamer culture. It’s ignorant bigots. (yes, I know it’s still fun to make fun of gamergate crap, that’s why I still upvoted the joke)

starman2112, (edited )
@starman2112@sh.itjust.works avatar

The meme is drawing a difference between lowercase g gamers, who are normal people who play video games, and capital G Gamers™, who are insecure manchildren who tend to make up a vocal majority among gaming communities. If you disagree, spend some time in a CoD lobby, or on /v/, or in real life with men who spend their time playing video games. There are a lot more Azs than you think.

ThirdWorldOrder,

I really don’t see it much and I’ve been online gaming since the 90s. I think drawing attention to it like this meme creates more problems than it fixes.

Just ignore any trolls you come across. Don’t engage. The silence is more painful to the bigots than whatever logic or empathy you try to throw at them.

TopRamenBinLaden,

Same here. It’s most definitely gotten much better nowadays. There has definitely been a culture shift to where those kind of people stick to their own private discord calls now. The fact that almost every game has a report button for that kind of behavior has definitely helped.

MotoAsh,

“… or in real life around men who play video games.”

Yea, that’s me and all my friends, and we’re not toxic bigots. Thank you for proving that this spreads prejudice and not awareness.

starman2112,
@starman2112@sh.itjust.works avatar

I shouldn’t have generalized it. Some groups are actually good. Many, many groups are not.
