I was about to say, “what do you mean ‘old days’, I’m still playing!”

This game will outlive DOOM being run on things.

Or more likely, someone will figure out a way to play one in the other.

My favorite repeatable mission, as intended by the devs: we need you to roll this barrel as far as you can by walking into it

My solution: looks at barrellooks at C4… (20 seconds later) clickBOOM

Honestly if they teamed up with the Just Cause team, they could make something quite interesting. Maybe not good, but certainly interesting!

The title/headline is purely for engagement, right? It has to be.

I haven’t seen it yet but I haven’t heard a single negative thing about the show yet. Only praise and lots of “it’s way better than I expected”

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

I fully expect to be utterly whelmed by it.

Honestly as long as it’s entertaining me, it doesn’t need to be the best show to ever exist. I don’t love The Fift Element because it’s high cinema. I love it because it’s fun.

Taking a look at my installed games list, my dream is self-sustainable communities, building an off-grid homestead, and a world where everyone’s basic needs are provided for.

It’s all building games and I like ones where you can build a small settlement with multiple people assisting in various aspects.

My only gripe with city builders is they focus too heavily on forcing US views instead of real-world examples (walkable cities aren’t viable, lack of dedicating 90% of areas to cars is penalized, zoning bs, etc)

I like mucking about in Cities Skylines with mods, that’s basically my goto when I don’t feel like playing anything else.

Right now since I got a new pc and it’s on sale, I’ve been playing fallout 4 with a bunch of settlement building mods installed. Probably not gonna be on this much longer.

Next I think I’ll give Ixion a try.

Here’s a few I spent some time on in no particular order, ranging from top-down style city management to first person settler type:

Banished

Factorio & Satisfactory

Caesar 3/Pharoah

Frostpunk

Surviving Mars

Subnautica

Medieval Dynasty

Against the storm (never could get into it, might have to give it another try)

Timberborn (didn’t get to play much, it’s on my list)

Dyson Sphere Program <— keep coming back to this one too especially now that my computer can go above 10fps

I love fallout’s settlement system, and specifically the mod Sim Settlements. I also like the idea of making a homestead for many people to live in and work together. Not many games that allow both group survival and independent building. Most that I’ve tried are like State of Decay, which is fun, but I don’t like the buildings being on rails. I like getting creative even if that means things get sloppy and disorganized.

My factory builders tend to utilize a lot of point-point logistics if available, otherwise it’s a spaghettified mess of conveyor belts and pipes. The kind that make experienced players cry and flee in terror. But they’re mine.

I’m also looking forward to seeing how good Manor Lords will be. If it looks good after a few days it’ll make a nice birthday present to myself.

Outside.

Or dark souls.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

You know, I was thinking just that as I typed. “outside is kind of turning into dark souls but MORE depressing” but figured that might be pushing it. Glad to know I’m not alone.

In modern society, EVERY day is like you’re in Blighttown.

If it’s not single player content, I still have no reason to reinstall.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

you don’t need to know what the problematic content is

You seem like the kind of person who would become a moderator, start banning people and when they ask why they were banned you would block them after replying “lol get fucked”

In what way is acquiring more knowledge a bad thing? If I don’t recognize any possible problematic content, but other people say it’s there, why shouldn’t I be a Le to ask what’s problematic about it? Have I been going around being casually racist without knowing?

Like damn my dude you’re getting pissed at people for wanting to better themselves.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

start game

go from A to B

press button/scan object

go from B to C

solve 3rd grade puzzle

go from C to D

scan object and defend while npc does things

optionally sneak from D to E

repeat until the game is over

And the best part is, I’m sure nobody even knows what game I’m talking about, but they think they might have it narrowed to 3 or 4.

Some of my favorite games on the planet are literally “wander around opening doors” and “go to a place to solve simple puzzles, press some buttons, and don’t die”

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

Literally the only thing I know about it is “pokemon with guns” and “it’s SOOOOOOOO popular! You should try it because it’s popular! READ HOW POPULAR THIS IS!”

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

Wellinaturally assume any game is shit on release in regards to bugs and stuff so I try to avoid games for a few weeks minimum. I’m more of the Patient Gamer type. I can wait a few years until the game is more or less in final form before getting it.

It sounds like that’s exactly what I should do here. I might toss gamepass a few bucks this month to try it out. it sounds like as is, I would stop playing when I go to build. I absolutely love building things, I used to crash fallout 4 all the time because my cities were so filled with things. Then there’s starfield where I got to s point and realized the entire cargo system was broken, and stopped playing the game entirely. Not like I was playing it for it’s gripping story

This game might be perfect for others as is, but imma wait a bit and try it Soonish.

I guess someone doesn’t feel like a hero yet and got butt hurt that genocide isn’t as fun as call of duty made it seem.

We did it guys, we found the source of corporate greed!

Transporter_Room_3,

The developers that come out and tell people “pirate our game and if you like it consider buying when you can” will always get my money.

Developers who tell us we own nothing and should be pleased about it can get my steel and cannonballs, cause this ship is ready to set sail.

Transporter_Room_3,

B.bbbb-but if I see it then I might catch The Gay! We all know that the moment you see or hear anything even remotely related to lgbtq+, you checks flash cards immediately burst into dance while singing Queen and waving a pride flag.

I play a woman named Vala (Mal Doran) or Adria in 99% of the games that let me customize. Because every other game I’ve played is always a generic male character doing generic action things.

“I’ve seen that movie played that game before” - Jordan Peele, if he were a gamer.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

I grew up with plenty, I still know a few through mutual friends. Every opportunity to complain about how “woke” games are these days is taken. If an lgbtq+ character is in any way involved, they immediately change any reviews to 1 star, start massively shittalking the game, and continue to play it while bitching to everyone and anyone about it the whole time, and for weeks after they finish.

In games that let me choose, I play a woman most of the time. Been mocked for it. Cool Bro, you play your way I play mine. Only I don’t spend my time thinking of ways to try and make you feel bad for it.

When you can play as a mining ship captain in the year 3300 , a green plumber turned Ghost-buster in a world with kidnapping turtles , and a dinosaur all on the same day, like you said, who gives a fuck

We all know what will really happen

A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON!

I can also use sharpie to put a big dot on my regular white toaster.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

Sure, there are other transporter rooms.

But we all know which one is the best. Just ask the most important person in starfleet history.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

From my understanding, there’s more risk involved in site-to-site than actually stepping on the pad.

Way less if you’re going from pad to pad.

When my atoms are being scattered across space, you bet I’d rather walk to the transporter room. I’d prefer a shuttle though.

something something bones

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

Always a good idea to make things efficient, but “the transporters take too much power” is a sentence you will never hear on a galaxy class at least. Those monsters had insane power generation capability.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

I can’t bring myself to finish dragon age inquisition.

Which sucks, it was a fantastic game I enjoyed nearly every minute of, and I wish I had gotten into the series when I had more free time than a hibernating bear.

No idea what it is, I just stopped playing one day and never started it back up, and now I just don’t have any interest in it.

Transporter_Room_3,
@Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website avatar

Depends on what mood I’m in.

Currently I’d like to chill, I’m pretty tired, maybe eat an edible if I had one.

So right now I’d have to say the Mass Effect 1 menu music: youtu.be/3GXVXYl3_8c?feature=shared

There used to be a mix I would fall asleep to several years ago. It was the engine humming mixed with the occasional beeping and status tones like a computer on the bridge, and the main menu music would play very softly every few minutes. Can’t find it anymore, although there are several of those each individually in hour long mixes.

If I want to get pumped though, doom 3 is a good one:youtu.be/rs0cSUIKKew?feature=shared although for actual main menu looping music, I’m going to have to agree with GONADS125, battlefield 1942 never fails to get me up and moving. It’s a very driving song.
