“Historically, the console version comes first, so lets take things one at a time. Get the console version out the door, deal with any bugs that arise, maybe an expansion or two, then we’ll announce the PC port, not before.”
They will delay and delay the of port, then the new gen of consoles will be announced and they will port it for them first, then pc will get it like 6 months later. Pretty much what happened with 5 iirc.
It was not just 6 months later. Original GTA v was released on old gen consoles, 1 entire year later on new gen consoles, then again 1.5 years later (meaning 2.5 years later from original release) it got out for PC. But I expect it will come to PC much faster this time, as every day not releasing it is not earned money. They won’t wait until next generation. GTAv was release quite at the end of the last gen back then, this time around 6 will come out in the middle of the generation. Also the current consoles are closer to PC in hardware and software than before, so a port is easier than with v.
I hope they take their time to upgrade and optimize the PC version. This is a massive game that needs its time. Especially because PC player have higher standards than console players and a more variety in hardware that needs to be tested and ironed out as much as possible. Obviously I’m a user like you and don’t know how much truth to all of this is, but sounds plausible in my opinion.
Supposedly, there’s mods that really improve things. I don’t have the game, but if you own it, it might not be a lost cause thanks to community modders.
Shame. Shortly after it’s release Best Buy was selling it for like $10, which is such a potent indicator for the state of its reputation on release. Anyway, I couldn’t pass it up. I encountered tons of bugs, but they were all superficial and didn’t impact the gameplay or my progress.
I loved it. World building and atmosphere were grade A, and I even liked Johnny Silverhand and his relationship with V. Like I said in the post, I’ve been waiting for new game plus to replay, but I guess now I’ll just dive back in without.
I saw the picture and hoped they had finally added some depth, or at least some interesting interactions, to romantic relationships (once they’re established).
Then I saw the headline. Oh well. It’s still a fun game.
But seriously, I’d assume because so many “live-service” games paywall any new updates behind “battle passes” or whatever they’re calling their subscription model this week.
I too own a dumb tv, a non vendor locked phone, and play on PC.
Speaking of PC when was the last time you purchased a game? No I don’t mean on Steam, origin, Uplay, or epic. you are licensed the game from those digital stores as they can remove them from your inventory without refunding you because you don’t own the copy.
Turns out you don’t even need a LG tv to jailbreak a PS4, almost any computer that runs Linux and has an ethernet port would do. github.com/TheOfficialFloW/PPPwn
If they would make them backwards compatible I would be more likely to upgrade it still bugs me that they stopped doing that. I miss my old PS3. That thing was awesome I even installed Linux on it and had emulators working… the good old days.
Yeah my mistake. It is with ps3 games. My default is to think everything is terrible now. It wouldn’t be that hard to support back to ps1 I’d pay extra for the option.
