I’m both disappointed and relieved. I love KotOR and was intrigued by what they would come up with, but I’m also quite sure it would have missed the mark in the end. It would’ve been nigh-impossible to recapture the magic. Shame this killed the fan-remake, though. We ended up with the worst of both options.
More of the same! More of the same! Oh please Lord, let it be more of the exact same boring safe realistic dreck that has been the GTA series for the past 5 years
I’ll need to double check if it looks like this outside of conversations, but I certainly feel like I’ve been playing a much better looking game than this.
Looks to me like this was cranked to low. About as honest as using a Mortal Kombat 1 screenshot from the Switch, but I guess it’s their fault for allowing people to lower their graphics like this.
I’ve been playing on minimum graphics, and it looks much better than any previous Bethesda game. The performance isn’t too great, and the TAA is a bit blurry, but it’s tolerable.
The game is usually quite attractive, but skin in particular is pretty bad in a lot of lighting. Subsurface scattering would go a long way to making them not look like clay, but there are other methods to fix this as well.
Why discs instead of cartridges, which are currently the superior physical option? I personally try to buy physical whenever possible, because I don’t trust companies to not ban my account and flush hundreds of dollars of games down the toilet, and it generally feels better to have just that little extra bit more ownership over my own property.
Because cartridges cost more to produce and are limited in storage. Switch carts cap out at 64gb, Blu Rays are up to 100gb at this point and it’s much cheaper to chuck a few of them in a box if the game goes over that. Hence all the switch games with massive downloads required on top of the cart.
What don’t you like about it? The SNES controller was one of my favorites but maybe it’s just because that was my favorite generation of gaming. Is it too small and cramped? Not ergonomic enough? I personally find the Xbox controller too large, but maybe I just didn’t play with one enough.
I thought the same about the 8bitdo pro 2, until i bought one and actually held it. Its my favorite controller i have ever had. It fits so perfect in my hands and feels high quality.
I hope all the big scummy game development companies fuck off and go ruin other things. Indie games are often the only half decent games these days anyway.
