Astroturfed,

I replay fallout 2 still occasionally. This could be fun.

Astroturfed,

All luxury goods are bombing right now. Walmart hitting record numbers… kinda tells you something about the state of people’s finances.

Astroturfed,

Blizzard is a shit company that exploits their customers, their employees and had a huge sexual harassment issue recently. Overall just a complete shit company making overpriced mediocre games. They used to be great, which is why they draw so much hate for now being awful.

Astroturfed,

I sold a wow account 15 years ago that was decked out for the time (guild broke up) for $1,000. Kept getting emails for years. Eventually I got sick of it and responded to one saying the account had changed hands and they banned it immediately. They only care about people selling/trading things outside of their system. They get a wiff of an account being sold and they’ll nuke it.

Astroturfed,

Please tell me you did something horrible on your way out, or plant to…

Astroturfed,

I waited for the reviews, and decided if I play it it will be a pirated copy…

Astroturfed,

Skyrim took a while, and a lot of mods to get there. That’s not really a selling point/positive for a full price AAA game though IMO.

Astroturfed,

Solid points. I’d of preferred they just made another decent fallout game. I think I tolerate some of their shortcomings in those games better because of nostalgia…

Astroturfed,

Yessssss, counterstrike is fucking counterstrike. It hasn’t changed in any drastic way in 20+ years. There’s plenty of new games that have all the realistic bullshit.

Astroturfed,

I used to be what was really good at the time 10 years ago. Going back and playing it now is soul crushing. People got so much better and I got worse… I can’t believe anyone new even keeps trying with how punishing it is now.

Astroturfed,

I bought a super base version when they finally released some shit thinking it’d actually come out. That was like 16 maybe? Check in every few years and am always amazed at how little they’ve got done since the last time. It’s obviously vaporware. I hope someone starts a nice class action lawsuit against them. It’s fraud at this point.

Astroturfed,

It’s an amazing game. I love murdering cuddly things with devil worship.

Stadia's death spiral, according to the Google employee in charge of mopping up after its murder (www.pcgamer.com) angielski

A statement from a Google employee, Dov Zimring, has been released as a part of the FTC vs Microsoft court case (via 9to5Google). Only minorly redacted, the statement gives us a run down of Google's position leading up to Stadia's closure and why, ultimately, Stadia was in a death spiral long before its actual demise....

Astroturfed,

I got one, was super disappointed with the functionality and didn’t like it at all. Returned it in less than a week. I got it after it’d already been steeply discounted and was so glad I hated it and got a refund when they killed it…

Astroturfed,

The thing was clearly designed to force you into paying a subscription fee. You can’t let people have something they could possibly easily use and play games that aren’t on your subscription if your entire purpose is to milk a monthly subscription from the users. Google, fuck you capitalism woohoo.

Astroturfed,

I couldn’t figure out how to do anything with one without paying the subscription. The interface was horrible and clearly designed to force you into subscribing before you could even use the thing.

Astroturfed, (edited )

Microsoft owns the game company. So unless you are pirating it…

$70 Mortal Kombat 1 Switch version called "robbery" as graphical comparisons flood the internet (www.eurogamer.net) angielski

Fans have taken to the likes of X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok to question NetherRealm's decision to market Mortal Kombat 1 as a $70 Switch release. It has been called "robbery" and "disrespectful" to users.

Astroturfed,

I own a ton of games on my switch that aren’t switch exclusives. I travel a lot and use it like a Gameboy on planes, in hotels etc. Anyone using a switch entirely as a home console experience, ya silly to not buy games on PC etc instead.

Astroturfed,

I’m amazed the amount of players those game still has. I bought it felt robbed and quit soon after release. Bungie is a shell of a what it once was.

Astroturfed,

Maybe now. They released a game with barely any content and sold the content to you.

Astroturfed,

I’m sorry, are you mocking me for replaying Chrono trigger? That shit is a masterpiece.

Astroturfed,

I remember I picked this game up to replay it for a few bucks on steam. I had no idea how bad the PC version was. I must of replayed it 3-5x back in the day on Xbox. I couldn’t believe how broken and unplayable it was on PC.

Astroturfed,

“Skeleton of a game released so we can sell you muscles and pieces to make the corpse move later.”

Astroturfed,

It’s on gamepass right? I wonder how these numbers would compare if it wasn’t…

Astroturfed, (edited )

People like to claim any big ticket game that doesn’t get like 8/10 or higher is being review bombed. Seems as if people have legit criticisms of the game and it’s pretty fairly reviewed.

Astroturfed,

Doesn’t metacritic aggregate reviews from other sources on their review scores as well? I havent really considered any of the big name review places a reasonable source for a long time anyway…

Everyone expects the next big game every game. How often can a studio really live up to the hype people create?

What do you think is a good required completion time for video games? What examples come to mind of games that felt just right? angielski

I used to like open world games that would take 50+ hours to beat but I feel like as I get older these games can be intimidating to even start and I often get sidetracked with other games frequently only getting half to three quarters of the way through....

Astroturfed,

Been really enjoying games like Hades for the same kind of reasons.

Astroturfed,

I mostly just read economics news articles, so I’ve read way too many stories on Turkey lately. It’s insane they reelected him. That man has pushed some economic policies that a middle schooler would be able to point out the holes in. The savings accounts that guaranteed the lira pegged to USD value? How in the fuck did he think that would be a solution. You’re literally agreeing to cause massive inflation by printing/handing out free money if inflation happens. So you created more inflation, to stop inflation… Some of the most horrific logic I’ve ever seen.

Astroturfed,

They get what they deserve for somehow electing him again…

Astroturfed,

All the blizzard leadership cut out and have started a few new studios with games in the works. Don’t expect anything but highly monetized low effort money printer sequel game from Blizzard anymore. Stop buying their shit.

Astroturfed,

The $80 pricetage made me not even consider it. Especially when you know they’re going to milk as much cash out of you as they can for expansions/DLC or anything else.

Astroturfed,

Yup, they just keep making the same game with a new map and skins. Everyone had such insane hopes for this game, but I always assumed it’d be at best like fallout 3, better graphics in space.

In its first week, Immortals of Aveum had a peak count of just 751 players on Steam. (steamdb.info) angielski

After 5 years in development and heavily pushing Unreal Engine 5 technologies, Immortals of Aveum was met with a whopping 751 player peak. For reference, Forspoken was considered a flop but still had over 12,000 players peak total. This may be the biggest flop of the year.

Astroturfed,

Right? Looks half interesting, probably could of sold well enough with any level of marketing.

Astroturfed,

The first two halo games were masterpieces in world building and suspense in gameplay. When the flood is first introduced your on the edge of your seat it’s on par with the best horror games ever made.

Astroturfed,

3 was definitely the last solid one. I still can’t believe they tried to turn it into a class based loadout cod game for multiplayer…

Astroturfed,

Lmao, EA making a good game that’s not a toxic half baked whale fishing expedition? You’d need a time machine to see that.

Astroturfed,

Not to mention all the same utility can be had with say a small TV or computer monitor and like a HDMI switcher for a little over $100. Maybe less if you find a good deal. I had a Wii U. The gimmick of the controller screen got old fast and it sucked pretty hard overall. Not looking to retry that failed concept.

Astroturfed,

My experience with steam link was… Really bad. I also tried the stadia, terrible. Unless things have changed very recently streaming game tech just isn’t there yet.

Astroturfed,

Did you somehow get a different game? Or maybe you somehow avoided all the bugs everyone else experienced. Still even if worked perfectly, game of the year seems a bit much.
