I watch this dude sometimes, he says he’s a fulltime game dev but all I see him do is play other games. The game he works on has seen very little progress.
Would be nice if he at least admits he’s a streamer and not a game dev.
I’ve also noticed this from watching his stream and the more I learn about the guy the less I like him. He seems to misrepresent and oversell himself quite a bit.
Btw did he tell you about the time he worked at Blizzard, for the millionth time?
Are Apple devs even contractually allowed to say that they’re Apple devs? I swear every employee from every other company won’t shut up about it on twitter but you never hear a thing from Apple people. Have I just been missing them completely?
I know a few people who used to work for Apple. The reason a lot don’t say it though is because if you do people automatically assume you had something to do with whatever feature they don’t personally like, and you get berated about it.
Ah, that’s completely understandable. Most people don’t realize that in a lot of companies, the decision to make the stupid feature/break your workflow comes from a suit 10 pay grades above your level and despite everyone involved trying to explain that it’s a bad idea.
Deltarune didn’t exist yet. It’s an undertale ripoff.
Which is very telling, tobyfox released a whole game on his own. While this " I worked at blizzard, BTW" tool hasn’t with an (allegedly) entire company around him. He’s a grifter, he scams people around him to profit off of other’s work. That’s all he does.
For tekken 7 if you bought the game through steam there shouldn’t be anything technical needed. Just hit install and launch it through steam should work. You might need to look up how to enable proton if its not enabled by default. I thought they were starting to do that. I’m not sure if you meet the minimum GPU requirements but you should be able to refund if not. For tekken 3 I don’t see a PC port, Your best bet would be setting up a PS1 emulator like duckstation.
Get the ps1 bios files, They can be found here psbios.gitlab.io/bios/ps1-bios/It will be in a .zip you will need to extract it afterwards you will have a lot of .bin files.
Get your tekken 3 ROM file, It will usually be in a .rar or .7z so you will need to extract the ISO.
Next you will need to launch duckstation, I’m not sure if your DE will prompt you to mark the appimage executable but if not open a terminal and run " cd Downloads ; chmod +x DuckStation-x64.AppImage " then it should open the installer when you double click it.
During installation you will be asked for a BIOS directory, Click on the PSX folder containing all those .bin files. After that it will ask for game directory, Choose the folder where you placed the .iso for tekken 3.
Beyond that you will need to setup your controller, Any USB controller should work. Graphics settings should be okay at the defaults. That should be the full setup process, Let me know if you got any questions or need more explanation.
Edit: Forgot about .bin/.cue files, These are the same as a .iso but split into multiple files. Make sure to keep them together but it should work the same in duckstation.
Enable offline mode. That’s the very least they can do. These game, like how EA famously claim that it’s not possible for SimCity to run in offline mode and then soon release an offline mode, should be playable offline.
Enable private server/p2p multiplayer. This would make sure playing with friends is still possible after the server went down.
It’s trivial in the grand scheme of things to release a localhost server to let games run offline. For the amount of work that goes into games already this is a drop in the bucket.
It’s also trivial if you know it’s a requirement at the start of the project.
So even if it does nothing for games out now, if it makes it a requirement going forward that alone would be a massive success all by it self.
I often defuse like this by referring to my age. “My reflexes were great when I first started playing video games in the 1970s—now I am just slower and not much I can do about it.”
I kinda hate the guy so it’s hard for me to keep the tone neutral but I’ll try my best.
Long story short: He’s a popular streamer that had a few controversies that caused many people labelled him as arrogant or egotistical.
The latest one is his take on the “stop killing games” initiative that he was against. He had a video a few months ago were he misrepresentated the movement and spread misinformation (whether or not this was intentional or misinformed is up for debate) and caused a significant drop in the momentum of the movement, refusing to accept any criticism and doubling down on things. That was until recently were the initiative was in the last month and a half before the big deadline at only around 50% of the required signatures, but then huge momentum sprung up with a lot of people marking him as the “villain” of the movement and because of his controversy before it wasn’t long before word spread.
This has obviously led to harassment of the guy(which I feel is too far personally) which he responded to by tripling down on his opinion causing further being labelled as the villain. Eventually the momentum carried it over the finish and people are happy that he didn’t get his way.
whether or not this was intentional or misinformed is up for debate
It’s not, in his response to the initial controversy he cut out the part of Ross’ video that directly contradicted his misrepresentation, he’s a lying piece of shit.
I blocked this guy from my YouTube suggestions last year after getting heaps of his videos recommended to me, and in every one he comes across as an insufferable know-it-all.
And if you know anything about what he’s talking about, you quickly realize that in fact he does not know it all.
Can I be a big time Twitch celebrity too if I doodle a series of completely nondescriptive boxes and link them with little lines in MS Paint as I talk?
He has literally said that the MS Paint doodles aren’t meant to be super descriptive or helpful. He started doing it in his meetings at Blizzard, because he found that any visual aid was good at keeping executives’ attention. Whenever he had to do a presentation, he’d use MS Paint every few minutes to keep them focused.
And now he does the same with his viewers. He busts out MS Paint every few minutes, just to refocus the viewers and keep them engaged. It’s not to help with whatever he’s describing; it’s just to keep the viewers engaged, so he keeps making money off of them.
To his credit, at least he admits this. It’s not like he’s hiding his strategy. He just does whatever will push him to the top of the algorithms and keep viewers engaged.

I’m sick of that excuse. The whole I’m dumb or I don’t know or it’s for the algorithm excuses people make to try and deflect criticism. Guess I’ve just seen to many people of prominence use that excuse one to many times over the years.
It’s playing the game by the rules as written. If the Game Master is upset at a player for using their own rules against them, that’s the GM’s fault. I can’t begrudge a guy manipulating a mega corporation (in this case, manipulating Google/YouTube’s algorithms) for profit. He needs viewer retention to stay at the top of the algorithm, so that’s what he’s doing.
I’ve just heard so many of the same excuses for even scummier people over the years of always shifting the blame to justify whatever is necessary to get the bag. The excuses seem ever less convincing.
I think you’re confusing ‘excuse’ for ‘reason’ here. no one is excusing his behavior, just pointing out that the reason he does it is because the system allows for this kind of behavior. we can see through the veil, but others are being hooked by it because it’s designed to keep you hooked.
it’s the same with other charismatic always online personalities. they’re really good at spinning their bs and people keep eating it up because it sounds good.
There’s people who will explain why it is done, and use it as an excuse why it is okay because that’s the rules of the game. Seen it way too many times from apologists. Heck the comment I responded to went about how they give this guy credit and can’t blame the guy for doing it.
That goes from explanation to excuses once they started providing an opinion on the behaviour. So that no one is making excuses isn’t right.
The viewers aren’t the game masters, though. I honestly wouldn’t want to participate in a game where I have to retain the attention of people without giving them anything of value. I think at some point those who participate also need to take some responsibility.
It’s possible it’s not an excuse. I’m in software eng. Doodles and on the fly flow charts are made all the time. It’s much easier to follow a complex topic if you have something to point to. Especially when trying to tie together concepts, like interplay between services, timing, DB, APIs, etc.
Iv always been confused over why he was ever in a meeting with executives when his official job position was QA tester. Not lead, not supervisor. He was a grunt worker.

Agree, the few videos of his that I appreciated were so rare and in every one he reminds me of that guy who is a pain to actually work with and any way other than their way is completely incorrect to them.
There are people with imposter syndrome, who you wish would say more and then there are people with overinflated self confidence, who just won’t shut up.
of course there is no way to definitely prove that, which was probably an intentional tactic, but certain puzzles he “solved” in “hours” took a whole community weeks to figure out (brute force was the only way) and there’s no way he’s just happened to guess the right answer
It’s funny because it’s not like he’s speed running or anything, he could literally just tell chat he was cheating because the puzzle was too hard and nobody would care.
But he has to keep up his insufferable smarter than everyone image by “solving” puzzles fast.
I don’t know man, I thought he was insufferable then, and after watching this rundown I stand by original opinion of him being an insufferable little gremlin.
Peace of life advice, don’t let other people tell you how to think, form your own opinions based on the things you value and experience.
Thor exist, and so do a lot of people that are a lot worse. He gets at more hate than he deserve when people like Jordan Peterson exist.
Also, you don’t have to watch his videos. You can just ignore him and move on with your life. There are better things to do with your time than to hate someone.
Apology exempted. Just please considered that the person you are correcting may not know English as their first language or by be struggling with dyslexia or some other issue you may know nothing about
That’s totally fair. I’m not a native English speaker myself, but some of the English I have learned has been through corrections from friendly souls around the internet so I wanted to pay it forward. I’m not judging or attacking you as I don’t expect anyone to be perfect in any language. Not even their own. Just wanted to help out 🤗
I wrote him off as a prick after he practically had a narcissistic meltdown during a stream with a psychiatrist when he was told that he comes off as an arrogant pedant and needs to learn to admit when he’s wrong.
I mean, he’s said before that shitty code doesn’t make for a good or bad game. He gave examples of lots of successful games that have “bad” code and that it doesn’t matter and people should just make games.
It’s one possible solution for one of the problems under the same umbrella. If you can’t or don’t want to run the servers for your online game (eg: Echo VR), just open source the server’s code and let the community keep the game running.
But even then it's astronomically unlikely to be retroactively enforced. Old games will be grandfathered in and it would apply only to future game releases.
