I’ve tried to get into Factorio but my research always progresses faster than I can build things inevitably leading me to get lost. Also, the factory ends up getting too messy so I quit the game.
It’s become a game that sits in my library taunting me.
If you pick it up again at some point, my recommendation would be to turn down enemies, increase resources, and just ignore most of the tech. It is there to give you flexibility, and many people’s first win had no trains, no nuclear power, low tier belts, no artillery.
The last time I played I turned the enemies completely off but between trains and the beginning of nuclear power, I got so confused I just quit.
I also turned the mountains off as well. I had enough problems trying to keep the conveyor belts straight without having to deal with building around elevation.
I apparently wasn’t ever paying attention bc I had never heard of gamescom before now, and now it’s been a flood of trailers coming out from there. Is gamescom the successor to E3? That was traditionally where I remember new releases coming out way back when before it dissolved/died/whatever.
Geoff Keighly has been trying to replace E3 with his Summer Games Fest. That’s where a lot of announcements come out. Iirc, Keighly said that this Gamescom wouldn’t be reveals for new games, but updates on ones we know are coming.
I’d say neither are really replacements for E3, since E3 had showcases from PS/Xbox/Nintendo. Nowadays all the major publishers and console makers have their own reveals.
Only gave Skyrim a try a few times, the combats a bit clunky and the game feels repetitive. It can look very good though, especially with mods. The world is interesting.
Your argument is just weird. Ok how about elden ring. Doom eternal. Cyberpunk 2077. The Witcher 3. Stardew valley. I dunno what you want from me but the combat in Skyrim is clunky.
I’m hella on your side, “compared to what” is a fucking stupid question. I love Skyrim and it’s clunkier than old style Monster Hunter games. Mods help but dang… it clunky. It’s only NOT clunky when doing archery the whole time, which is why everyone does that. The arching is good… also with mods… and in VR.
Even Fallout 4’s combat is less clunky and it’s CLUNK AS HELL
It’s the combat part of the game that made it hard to me to play Skyrim. I use some mod and play a mage to avoid playing with weapons, because I find the combat system slow and boring.
I’m replaying Dark Messiah. The game aged, but its combat style is still as dynamic as I remembered. Back then, It’s because I compared it to the Oblivion one that I didn’t played Oblivion more than a couple of minutes.
The combat is honestly my problem with most Bethesda games. I enjoy the environment and story, but the combat feels lackluster to me. Hits with any kind of weapon feel like they miss impact on the enemy. Other than that, great games.
I have a mod in here called Valhalla Combat irc. Idk if it fixes your issue with the combat but it adds things like a lock on to make it much easier to keep a flow
I’ll never forget the first time I played nfl 2k for the dreamcast. I literally thought I had accidentally changed the channel to real football. The last football game I played was 2d - madden on the genesis. This was such a leap forward I had trouble believing it.
The only house rules we had with Goldeneye was that we always had the “handicap” set such that you could only survive 1 or 2 hits to the body unless you had the body armor and got like 2 more before death.
But then we would just use remote mines and the quick detonation trick anyway 🤷🏻♂️
We played license to kill almost exclusively. Our go to was with the pistols. Feel like it set me up for great success in first person shooters later in life
