The right decision due to how it runs. It’s basically two copies of the game going at once. None of this players not being able to stray too far from each other nonsense like other local co-op games.
I remember split-screen being real shaky for D:OS2 on the PS4. Not surprised that they struggled to get it working for this even-more-demanding game on a resource-limited console.
The dead silence when the Fallout title came on screen is pretty telling. Everyone was rolling through the possibilities in their heads about just how mediocre, unimaginative, and unmemorable this will be after it doesn't get renewed for a second season.
I don’t know, I’ve enjoyed Fallout ever since the first one and I’m looking forward to the show. It’s not like they have to follow a specific storyline from the games, just a new story in an established setting. Should be easy enough. If it’s good, more people will get into Fallout. If it’s bad, oh well, the games are still there.
I always, always hope that its good, but unfortunately 8/10 times, it tends to be a disservice to the franchise.
Could you imagine a Metal Gear TV / movie adaptation? I can't imagine anyone could ever make that a descent representation of not only the content, but the people who are invested in it too, but I would love more than anything to be proven wrong.
I wish the series well, but when we’ve just been told another game isn’t coming out for 10+ years you cant expect too much hype from fans. The best I can do is mild interest.
This is my biggest reason for not buying the latest gen consoles. They lean heavily towards digital downloads, and I want to be able to unpack the console in 20 years for nostalgia and play a game without worrying if the game store is still available to download it.
There are physical disc versions, but I get the feeling even there the games won’t work out of the box without and internet connection to the online server/store
in my experience the “physical” copy of a game now, only gives access to installing a game. But I dont really use consoles so maybe I am misunderstanding how it works.
UbiConnect would be FINE if it remembered my login info. Steam does. Galaxy does. But that checkbox “remember my login” must be Swahili for “forget everything you just typed in”
Look at the bright side, at least it doesn’t require you to be online to open offline mode, and then have offline mode throw a tantrum because it doesn’t have an Internet connection…
What the holy monopoly is this. Basically the three worst major game developing companies have now joined forces. Activision, Blizzard, and now Ubisoft. Holy shit. Yea guess who isn’t playing any more titles put out by them, big yikes.
I’m confused. Why would this be the thing that stops you playing games by these companies? Especially considering Activision Blizzard might stop being so shitty when the people at the top leave after the acquisition. I’m not saying you shouldn’t avoid games based on ethics, I just think this deal is a weird one to be the deal-breaker for you.
Never really liked titles from Activision or ubisoft to begin with and thats just my opinion, just enjoyed the odd blizzard game and that’s been a rocky road as of late. I’m just not a fan of monopolies really, and if I can avoid shoveling money into the beast then I will. But as time goes on it will be harder and harder to navigate this because I’m sure there I’ll be some games put out by companies owned by Microsoft because their reach is so big I’m starting to get more into indie games as well party because of this in part.
Fair enough. I do agree with you on the indie front. Hades and Hollow Knight are two of my favourite games of all time. Remnant 2 has knocked it out of the park. And there are so many interesting smaller games coming from indie studios these days.
