Jabbawacky,

Just use duckstation to emulate MGS1. You can have the original 320p image if you want, or use the wide-screen hack, perspective correction (no warping polys) and texture packs for a more modern experience. Why people pay for these half arsed shitty emulation collections is beyond me.

Jabbawacky,

Yeah, and with duckstation it doesn’t even need work if you use the controller/bigscreen UI. Press menu, video, and check the options you want. Done.

I’m the biggest Xenoblade geek around - what the fuck at your later part (not at you). If you mean Future Redeemed, that is absolutely 100% tying up the entire trilogy (and also tying in Gears/Saga/X as much as Takahashi could do), and yes - there are multiple monados (A’s, Alpha’s). Shulks is a replica, but the other two are literally split from Ontos’ original. Matthew’s gauntlets are also arguably a Monado too, powered by the Pneuma core, and I would also argue that N’s sword of the end is also a Monado, based on the Logos core.

I had enough with the Xenoblade community back when XB3 launched and the usual culprits who also run the wiki absolutely laughed anyone out of the room who suggested those statues in the city were of Shulk and Rex. I mean, the descriptions and look made it obvious to anyone with a brain (and FR proved yes, it was them) - but no, these things have to be spelled out in black and white and made 100% obvious apparently otherwise it can’t be true. It’s sad, frustrating, and goes against the entire philosophy of the series.

Jabbawacky,

I can’t stand listening to them. 99% of people doing these videos, any videos, on YouTube have no concept or idea of how to actually talk properly to an audience. I don’t want to have to skip through someone fucking mumbling in an indecipherable accent to find what I need.

Give me written instructions/guides. It’s faster, I can re-read easily at my own pace (fast!) and I don’t get annoyed by someone’s nasally voice. Yes I’m an older one too.

Jabbawacky,

As long as they don’t mess with his lines in the eventual RE5 remake.

complete global saturation!!!

Anyone else get burn-in playing F-Zero99? (lemmy.frozeninferno.xyz) angielski

To be perfectly clear, it took one (1) grand prix worth of play time on my monitor to make this happen. I’ve had my Acer Predator monitor for years with no burn-in from anything, and ~10 minutes with F-Zero caused this. Anyone else, or am I just unlucky?

Jabbawacky, (edited )

No - this is image retention, not burn in. Can happen with flashing objects such as the map in F Zero Advance if you emulate it on a display without adaptive blur.

It will fade in time.

Jabbawacky, (edited )

F Zero X remake please. original was already 60fps, so upgraded graphics and the original soundtrack in full stereo and full 30 player online. Sounds good to me.

Jabbawacky,

Yep. I’ve played many similar nonogram games where I’ve realised there are multiple solutions - which means it’s not been properly planned or tested. Broken, basically.

I’ve never had that issue with picross, a series I’ve been playing since the GB original in the 90s.

Jabbawacky,

Local co op games never left, as long as you have a Nintendo console or a pc to emulate up to and including Switch.

Jabbawacky, (edited )

I just use Yuzu rather than my switch. Can’t beat 4k60fps+

Jabbawacky,

? I buy all my games and rip them using my launch Switch. I then enjoy playing them in 4k60fps instead of using the dock, with the saves synced via wifi so I can go back to handheld after.

Emulation does NOT = piracy for fucks sake.

Jabbawacky,

Do it again and you’ll get the raspberry

Jabbawacky,

No, as that’s fully against their philosophy. They ship complete games, on time, with limited if any bugs and with no microtransactions and large DLC expansions for most games.

He is clearly talking about their expansion into film, theme parks and other entertainment avenues other than games consoles or anything really done prior (Pokémon movies are TPC, rather than Nintendo).

Jabbawacky,

??

Of course they are. Because - you can buy the fucking things second hand or lend them to people!

Not counting games that were unfun because of bugs, what’s the most unfun video game that you’ve played and what made it unfun? (kbin.cafe) angielski

Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.

Xenoblade 1 is over a decade old and launched on the Wii. While it is an important game, and was mind-blowing at launch, the sequels surpassed it imo.

Skip 2 and go straight to 3. The gameplay is a combination of both titles and the battle system is FUN. By the end, you’re changing classes, 7 team members at once in battle - switching between them at will, 12 arts available to each member at once, chain attacks and transformations into massive mech-like beings called Ouroboros where you can really fuck shit up. If you install the rebalance mod it’s even better, battles are fast and if you don’t keep up you can get fucked over quite bad. Or you can just go YOLO and just punch things with the fighter class loaded up with attack gems.

The story is very strong (endless war between two nations where the lifespan is only ten years (born at 10, die at 20), and your life is replenished by taking others) with some incredible voice acting from the UK cast, the world feels alive - full of warring factions and roaming armies, and the quests all actually mean something now (help any colony and you gain their leader as a computer played party member, as well as their class and weapon that you can assign to other team members and level up through use). The game runs a dream on a good Yuzu setup in 4k 60fps too.

The great thing about Xenoblade is that you can arguably play the main games in any order and still enjoy the full story. XB2 is super horny, has a fucking terrible menu system and has a lot of it’s own issues, despite it still being a very very good game. But there’s a reason Xenoblade 3 was nominated for Game of the Year at the game awards, you know.
