Apparently, it’s not a completely new soundtrack. It’s a mix of the original soundtrack, completly new songs & artists, but also different tracks from returning artists featuring in the original, apparently those are changes suggested by Tony himself. Although some are probably licensing issues I would guess ?
And Jake Baldino who got to preview the game said he found them pretty good.
One thing that I hope they didn’t carry over from the first one is the ad-libbing of 90% of the NPC’s lines. The voice actor is not good at improv and constantly resorts to swearing and throwing insults out of no where for cheap shock value whenever he hits a block. At first it was funny because it was different to what you’re used to but it got old really quick.
Justin Roiland hasn’t been with Squanch Games since the abuse allegations and lawsuit regarding his sexual harassment of an employee. Roiland was not named specifically in the suit, but the suit was settled out of court and Roiland left Squanch at the same time, so we can all put 2 and 2 together and make “Roiland is a disgusting freak.”
He wasn’t even in the DLC from the first game, High on Knife.
Which is ironic, because Fallout 4 is the game that caused me to no longer be hyped for anything else that Bethesda had coming. Fallout 76 and Starfield didn’t disappoint, because I was expecting them to be shit from a company that had lost its way, and they delivered spectacularly.
With their more recent games they have gotten less bad with their dlc, the base games seem a lot more feature rich (I could easily play stellaris, vic 3 and ck3 without feeling like I am missing parts of the game. With eu4, the dlc seem necessary). They will definitely release too much dlc, but it probably (hopefully) won’t be required like in eu4
When I meant missing parts I meant stuff I would notice missing while playing the game with no dlc. This happens a lot in eu4 and almost never in ck3. Although I might try roads to power after hearing about it!
It’s bland as fuck and somehow people go and fucking play the same shitty mechanic game for hundreds of hours for 13 years, not even mentioning the fact that they buy it 3 fucking times.
It’s not even out and I already absolutely hate this game and how everyone is hyping it to be next coming of Jesus when it’s going to be EXACTLY the same as the other ones with crappy storyline and a basic af gameplay
You could’ve just said that it’s not your cup of tea. Seems like you have a grudge against it. Which is fine, but for people who enjoy the series, your comment can feel like an attack on their preference.
Pro tip, if your sentence ever begins with “am I the only one…” then just stop and completely reconsider how you want to present the point you want to make. Just make the point. Lose the fluff.
You aren’t the only one. Nobody is ever the only one.
Since IV they have been striping features from the games (also IV had huge performance issues). And V is completely bland to me. I didn’t enjoy it. And I don’t expect much from VI. I expect the same shallowness as V with a different background.
If I’m wrong good from everyone. But I won’t get disappointed if it’s as boring a V.
Same. But I WILL be disappointed. I like the series too much, despite it being shit for so long. I want to play good games, and I know what Rockstar is really capable of. So if another big release by a core gaming studio comes out and it’s trash, that’ll suck.
Like I see posts about Anime all the time and that isn’t my thing, so you know what I do… I just pass on by and let people enjoy what they enjoy without trying to come off as superior or enlightened.
I’m sorry, but gta FIVE was bland as fuck. Gta3 was groundbreaking for the time because it was 3d, gtavc was actually incredible, but now looks like hot dogshit (sounds great though, and that va cast was insanely talented and well cast and written, chefs kiss), and gtasa while a great game and expansion on basically everything, was the beginning of it getting bland and formulaic.
And gta5 was like… The right direction after gta4, but felt really half assed.
That being said, I love this franchise and want it to do better. I just know that they likely won’t.
So don’t hate it, just criticize it for what’s really wrong with it. As a person who’s played since gta2, it’s immensely frustrating to see it degrade. Your complaints are valid.
Yeah that’s my point like… It’s an ok game, the story has always been very bland to me, very predictable and simple, I’d at least forgive that if the gameplay was always fun an exciting, but people do everything in their power to ignore it’s flaws and just say it’s perfect and overhype it like there’s nothing to improve.
Rockstar knew how to make game mechanics that made cars feel amazing to drive in Midnight club 3 and LA, and the ones in GTAV are crap, they all feel like driving on ice, they knew how to make good gunplay like Max Payne 3,and in GTAV is bland as fuck. That’s what I mean. They clearly know how to do good stuff but in the last 13 years they really haven’t innovated at ALL, and why would they? People are STILL wasting money on GTA Online 13 years later, and the same people will still buy GTA6 3-4 times in the next 10 years
I love GTAV and play Online almost everyday. But this bullshit about delays and more delays every year is just annoying as hell. How many years have they had to get this right?
I'm reminded of the quote "Don't let perfect get in the way of good." and I'm beginning to wonder if that's what's going on here? Are they delaying a good game because it's not "perfect" or are they just so incompetent that they have to keep going back to "fix" things???
And watch, when it does come out it'll be buggy as hell. Everyone will be asking "You've had all of this time. Why are there so many bugs?" and Rockstar will just shrug their shoulders all of the way to the bank.
I’m happy to see that it looks good! The return to a more serious style is welcome after 3 games of perhaps taking it too far.
First impression is it seems a lot more Destiny-like: personal vehicles, quests you can pick up anywhere, dynamic events. I’m not complaining necessarily, but looks like they took some notes.
The movement options seem nice but not sure they add that much really. If they don’t solve a challenge that the enemies provide then it’s kinda pointless. I almost never used slide or ground pound in combat in previous games because I was better off just shooting the enemies.
And as much as I love my Jakobs weapons, I was hoping to see a manufacturer revamp. They even used the same companies in Tiny Tina’s with only minor tweaks. The heavy weapons sharing a slot with grenades looks to be a fantastic change though, very welcome.
Also, no lip-sync on NPCs? Looks weird having Amara speaking but her character do nothing.
Overall though looks like a solid but not ground-breaking entry. The guns look just as fun as before and the art design is a step up (those bosses!) from before which I love to see. I know people complained about the Vault Hunters being generic but I don’t have a huge issue with it. I don’t need my characters to be the blue-haired anime character sitting by the window.
Thanks for posting, I wouldn’t have seen this otherwise.
Playing through those old games now, I feel like they could use some kind of dodge move to get an escape from guaranteed damage, so if the movement does that, I’ll be happy. But those games are also littered with level designs that make you take the long way around due to a single ledge being too high, so hopefully it alleviates that problem a bit too. The Destiny personal vehicle seems like a departure from Catch a Ride, but maybe those already weren’t in 3 for all I know, and being able to spawn it out of nowhere probably is an improvement.
Movement techniques should always be optional and not necessity to do. Somebody wants to zip around and somebody wants to stay still and fire away. Some mechanics solve problems, but some just are there to give freedom.
Guns. They have spend three main games and four spinoffs building the companies. At this point the manufactorers are basically characters. Why chance it?
I think 2 can also be used as an argument for why they should switch it up. After all, we switch playable characters each game to keep things fresh, so why not do the same with guns? A new planet should bring some new gun modifiers, and they could still bring back some of the old manufacturers as rare loot or legendaries to get even more variety. After 13 years and 4 entries, I’m just a little tired of reloading Tediore’s and throwing away all Hyperion and Torgue guns I pick up (exaggerating!).
I somewhat agree with you on movement: it doesn’t have to be for combat or necessary. But you have to adjust the enemies to account for the extra player tools lest you make melee or slow projectiles trivial. That and I believe that the best games implement features that solve something, even if the devs create the problem the feature solves. Take Doom Eternal for example: I wouldn’t have used half the tools in that game if they hadn’t provided challenges that were best overcome by using them. On medium-high difficulties you end up using everything at hand to get through the levels because otherwise you die, and that’s fulfilling! If I had the same tools at hand but the enemies were all .5x speed then it wouldn’t be very engaging.
And im so freaking glad it does. It seemed like a passion project with an incredible art direction, but to learn its also a stellar game is so satisfying.
Nope, the old DLC is available in the base game. The Deluxe edition adds some new armor (and yes, new horse armor) but isn’t necessary to access the old DLC.
