The map in GTA3. There was a mission towards the end of the game I kept failing; to deliver a corrupt FBI agent to the airport. Eventually I realised, after studying the map, I could bypass all the road blocks by taking the light rail system. I felt like an 11 year old Einstein.
Is that the timed mission where they posted up enemies everywhere with rocket launchers along the normal route? That mission ended my last attempt at a playthrough, still never finished GTA3
If anyone is old enough to remember Infocom games, they came with “feelies,” just random fun stuff related to the game they decided to include. It occasionally was needed to solve a game puzzle, but usually not.
When people talk about games having heart, this is it. Little unnecessary goodies just because you’re excited that people are buying your game and you want them to be into it.
Always loved that the second I was doing better than they were or just got to a further point than them they’d rip the controller away and say something like “I got it I got it, stop hogging the game!” Then would cry and scream if I beat it for them because inevitably 12 minutes later they’d ask for help again and no amount of showing them would help them figure it out.
Tell me what console or system or even game manufacturer that lets you buy their game, download it to a portable micro SD and then lets you play it from there.
Not even steam lets you do that and you don’t even have a direct way of knowing what’s on the micro SD card without making a label for it which good luck.
No steam is definitely not the bastion to use as they really aren’t gonna work. They like games tied to accounts.
You could say GOG games but it really still defeats the point of it not being even close to similar to a physical game you could resell and having a nicely labeled piece of physical media.
I know you aren’t the person originally with the really bad argument btw, but yeah the list is super small this would work for.
First, you can totally make a steam library on a portable device like a microsd or an external drive (I do and I play on different places with the same drive), and play it on any device running steam.
And don’t start the “oh but you need steam installed”, since with the proprietary sd, you gotta have the propriety device as well.
Second, sure I can just lavel it, a 3 seconds job. Don’t you need the proprietary sd to come labeled as well? Also, I don’t need to label anything, I have dozens of games there and select which one I want to play.
Your defense of OP’s comment is also weird but that’s okay, we all are always learning.
Each format of game has its own merits ans they are only better than another on an objective comparison, as for subjective, just use whatever you want.
Yes, because who wants to own their shit when they can just perpetually lease it with the unending dread of losing it all at any moment (digital platform of choice) shuts down or just says fuck you, we’re taking the games away and you cant do shit about it.
Mega Man (original NES version) - fast paced and better than I expected platformer
Lonely Mountains Downhill - calming and chill mountain biking game
Voices of the Void - silly and mildly aggravating at times but fun once you get into it simulator game
Sam & Max Hit the Road - funny point-and-click adventure game with puzzles that are fair and logical
Skies Of Arcadia - classic turn based RPG with an entertaining story can’t believe I never played it years ago
My game tips for each game
spoiler- Mega Man (original NES version) - keep shooting while jumping forward, keep distance from the bosses, time jumps based on audio cues - Lonely Mountains Downhill - take the shortcuts whenever possible - Voices of the Void - upgrade your server stability stat as soon as possible, use the toilet to restore stamina, buy shrimp packs - Sam & Max Hit the Road - read the game manual for minigame instructions, check each screen very carefully - Skies Of Arcadia - use gear grease in ship battles, use increm magic to increase attack, red and purple magic are strong against each other
Yes the random battles in SoA do get kinda repetitive especially since many of them seem so easy and the game has you going back and forth on the world map with the same enemies that don’t level scale at all with the characters.
You find out where that kid lives. Go to their town and tell them of how brave their father was and how he died next to you in battle fighting the enemy hordes. Tell him you made a promise to raise him and see to his education. Add child to raiding party. Raise him to be a merciless avenger in his father’s memory. Become the scourge of the continent. Eventually child finds out that you were the one who killed his father and turned him into a monster for your own profit. Meet child on the plains for a final battle. Refuse to lift your sword in defense because you’ve come to love him as your own. Oh no - the whole thing was a setup by the enemy: they leaked the truth to the kid and set up this meeting as an ambush for both of you, hoping you’d kill/weaken each other. Fight to your dying breath defending the kid and helping him escape. Last words your hear as he escapes and leaves you to your fate are about how much he’ll miss you and forgives you.
Alternate ending: Find kid, wait until kid is at birthday party, kill 5 kids, take loot, 4c, 5 poison vials. Letter from father says “I left because you were a bad son”. Wasn’t birthday party after all was suicide pact. Other 4 kids were half siblings with the same letters. As you walk away stunned but feeling slightly better you find a chest of weapons nearby and a manifesto. It was a murder suicide pact and these kids were in their way to slaughter the local happy families. You are a hero. Everyone claps. You leave the 4c.
In the distance you see he man you “killed”. It was all a setup to get you and those damn kids to weaken each other. He rides up laughing and says “welcome home son”.
If you’re implying that years of mindless consumerism and television have left my brain completely devoid of originality and creativity, leaving me unable to conjur up unique and never-before imagined stories not anything like those of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Lion King, Frailty, Thor, Batman Begins, Maleficent, Iron Man, and many, many others…well…that’d be a serious accusation friend. What kind of monster would do that? And on the internet?!
