Now I’m just curious about you, after seeing your posts. I’ve seen a couple of games come up more than once, but a pretty wide variety of games that usually take a lot of time to get through. Have you been hopping back and forth between some “new to you” games while you come back to Skyrim every now and again? I’ve seen a fair amount of RPGs of some variety, are those your mainstay for games?
Part of it is that I was trying to keep a good diversity of games, but also I’m a college student so i basically have a lot of free time this summer. I have a collection of about 30 “currently playing” games I usually go through. I’ll play one game for maybe half the day and then I’ll switch to another game. By this point though I’m probably going to be doing a lot of repeat games because those are the handful I’m going through rn
Only gave Skyrim a try a few times, the combats a bit clunky and the game feels repetitive. It can look very good though, especially with mods. The world is interesting.
Your argument is just weird. Ok how about elden ring. Doom eternal. Cyberpunk 2077. The Witcher 3. Stardew valley. I dunno what you want from me but the combat in Skyrim is clunky.
I’m hella on your side, “compared to what” is a fucking stupid question. I love Skyrim and it’s clunkier than old style Monster Hunter games. Mods help but dang… it clunky. It’s only NOT clunky when doing archery the whole time, which is why everyone does that. The arching is good… also with mods… and in VR.
Even Fallout 4’s combat is less clunky and it’s CLUNK AS HELL
It’s the combat part of the game that made it hard to me to play Skyrim. I use some mod and play a mage to avoid playing with weapons, because I find the combat system slow and boring.
I’m replaying Dark Messiah. The game aged, but its combat style is still as dynamic as I remembered. Back then, It’s because I compared it to the Oblivion one that I didn’t played Oblivion more than a couple of minutes.
The combat is honestly my problem with most Bethesda games. I enjoy the environment and story, but the combat feels lackluster to me. Hits with any kind of weapon feel like they miss impact on the enemy. Other than that, great games.
I have a mod in here called Valhalla Combat irc. Idk if it fixes your issue with the combat but it adds things like a lock on to make it much easier to keep a flow
The only house rules we had with Goldeneye was that we always had the “handicap” set such that you could only survive 1 or 2 hits to the body unless you had the body armor and got like 2 more before death.
But then we would just use remote mines and the quick detonation trick anyway 🤷🏻♂️
We played license to kill almost exclusively. Our go to was with the pistols. Feel like it set me up for great success in first person shooters later in life
It looks like particle board with a veneer. Probably a cheap remodel job that got a larger piece than they needed and didn’t have the chops to cut it down themselves, so they just said fuck it and had 2 foot of overhang with no support.
I had thought about this today. When I was young, I would endlessly draw pictures for my future games. My parents pushed me into a different career path. Now I’m 34, have a child and coding my first game as a hobby. Video games are the media of my generation.
It’s a hobby, honestly I would have never tries but my friend convinced me to just try it. I used the free Gscript starter app and KidsCanCode. Both are excellent resources that are designed to teach basics. Both are free as well and many months later im figuring it out as I go.
