Tried ghostrunner but ot was not for me. It was just not fun to play and felt way too difficult. Playing a bit of stardew valley and recently started tunic too.
After reading a book on Roman emperors I started playing Rome 2. Because of the problematic launch I never progressed far in the campaign. It seems the game was properly patched as I’m having a blast now.
I always enjoyed Rome TW, but it lacks some core game mechanics that Rome 2 does way better: political scheming, civil war, provinces, garrison, … I also loathed the anachronistic representation of certain cultures in Rome TW.
In short: even if it’s already 10 years old, I can’t recommend the game enough, certainly when you are a romanophile!
Started Spider-Man: Miles Morales and am loving it so far. It’s not as good as Spider-Man (in terms of making me invested in the storyline) but it’s good.

Playing through the Quake 2 Remaster with a nostalgic feeling. Now, having kids, I realize that I should not have had access to that at 13 yo. Distribution channels were different in 1997.
I’m playing through portal 2 with a friend who only played the single player. I didn’t realise how many amazing maps are out there in the workshop, I’d highly recommend revisiting if you’re looking for a great coop game!
Those developers trying to shit on Larian need to cry and seethe more. Terribly incompetent people who can’t create good games themselves, why not trying taking notes instead?
I’m not talking about Larian, I’m talking about the studios who want to keep cranking out suppisedly AAA games that are little more than creatively bankrupt, dressed up vending machines.
The picture in the OP is PR for a publishing company. There are many other accounts of people who work in the industry who are angry/jealous of Larian. You’re probably just not looking in the right places.
Try actually reading what the developers are saying. Most are saying that they can’t make good games because the suits won’t let them. They keep fucking over and chasing off the most experienced and visionary people, force teams to chase trends instead of concentrating on one type of game and never give them enough time.
From all that I’ve seen it’s more like they are trying to dismiss the success that Larian has found by saying that they are a special case which is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Larian did hard work and are being rewarded for it.
Not correct Larian reached out to WOTC coast first to try get the licence after Divinity Original Sin but were turned down because they felt that they were too new. Was only after DOS2 that they got the license.
I know and I fucking hate it. I was one of the fanboys defending them even through the first SwSh trailers, but the more they showed stuff the more it was clear it wasn’t the franchise I used to love anymore.
Man I hope the next great Pokémon (even if it’s not pokémon) doesn’t take until I have kids to come out. I heard good stuff about Coromon but I’m not sure if it’s genuinely great or “great for an indie”.
Capitalism works. There are markets who will pay for these and that’s why they are made. That’s what capitalism is.
If not for capitalism, these games wouldn’t even exist.
Now, the issue I think you’re worried about is that people begrudgingly pay for the game when they don’t really want to. Or pay more than they want to for it.
That’s not capitalism, that’s FOMO.
People make a ton of shit everyday that I don’t buy. But obviously someone is out there paying for this shit, or it wouldn’t be being made.
What do I care, or what do you care about it enough to even address?
If people don’t buy it, it either gets cheaper or it’s not made at all. So just don’t buy it. I haven’t bought a sports game in 20 years because of this. But they keep making them and people keep complaining about them.
Complain about yourselves, it’s not capitalism, it’s the consumers.
