I’m honestly asking why people are so furious about the psn account. Is it because you don’t want to give your data to Sony?

I’d clearly understand with something like facebook or google, but I don’t think giving my data to Sony is the end of the world.

I’m not a pc gamer and I wouldn’t want to have every company pushing for their own account, but I don’t see why Sony is getting so criticized when (I think) Ubisoft or Electronic Arts have been doing this for years on PC.

I guess every PlayStation game on pc is kind of belonging to the PlayStation universe and that’s why it’s an excuse to demand a psn account.

I’m addicted to trophies so I don’t mind the psn account.

I guess people who don’t want to get a psn account should just not play these games and not pirate them as some people are suggesting.

On PlayStation it ain’t a nuisance because the psn account is valid for every game, but on pc I agree with you.

Yeah and don’t forget that even with the inflated price, a ps5 is cheap compared to a pc as powerful.

Well I don’t see why you couldn’t emulate it on a ps5. People are doing it on pc so I guess it’s more that Sony doesn’t care and don’t want to invest in it.

It’s one side where Microsoft is better than Sony, retrocompatinility.

I’m still playing a lot of ps4 and ps3 games, so I hope my ps3 is gonna stay fit for purpose in the long term 🤞

I really don’t regret buying my ps5, but I could totally still be on ps4 as I’m mostly playing games from the previous generation or available on it.

But at one point, there’ll be quite a few games which wouldn’t be able to run on ps4. The question is when.

I also feel like we don’t need to have more beautiful games than Last of Us 2, so I hope one day we’ll stop focusing so much on better looking games.

On PlayStation you can still buy second hand games because of the disc drive. I don’t know if PC still have a blu-ray drive anymore.

You can still get a lot of new games on ps4 which is a cheap console.

I guess that for some people having a gaming pc is cheaper, but for me having a ps5 and a weak pc is cheaper.

It depends on the user…

Well I’m not against games becoming more impressive visually per se, but against the fact that because of this games are becoming way more expensive to produce and companies are now risk averse.

But yeah I might have said « this is it » in front of quite a few games 😅

Maybe if you see it that way. But just thinking about how much you need to upgrade your PC or tinker with it for everything to work is too much for me.

I already don’t like the fact that on ps5 you have to choose between performance and fidelity modes, so imagine if I had to choose settings on a pc.

Also on consoles, you just know a game is gonna work perfectly, which is not always the case on pc.

But PC is better for some players and console are better for some others.

I sometimes consider jumping to PC gaming, but I see too many inconveniences for now.

I’m fine with this as long as I’m still getting FFVII part.3 on PlayStation.

To be honest I don’t really care about exclusives and I think it should just be for first party developers.

Although I wouldn’t mind getting Gears of War on PlayStation.

I’ve played FFVII remake and I’ve played 45 hours of rebirth and I’m enjoying it so far.

Maybe less than the original but I guess I’ve changed in 25 years and I want more mature and less japanese dialogues.

Played it two times on ps5. Once on 1.50 and once on 2.0. I haven’t experienced crazy glitches…

I loved the world, enjoyed its story but didn’t like the combat as it felt a bit messy and I felt overpowered as a hacker.

After two playthroughs, I’ll probably do the expansion at one point but I don’t know if I should play it from one of my playthrough or from a new save.

Except getting more user information, I don’t really see the big advantage for Sony so it’d be interesting to know why they want to require a PSN account in countries where you can’t get one.

Also I’d want to know why you can’t get one in some countries.

Incredible game series until Kojima went crazy with its base management and soldier recruitment.

MGSV was such a disappointment that I’m trying to erase it from my memory.

I don’t remember this mission. In MGS V? Since I played the game around its launch, I just remember how disappointed I was.

I guess I really wasn’t into the game as I wasn’t emotionally involved at all. Not like in Last of Us 2 when Abby and Ellie are fighting. I was feeling their pain and anger and was really destabilized as if two of my close friends were fighting.

I had a lot of fun on this console, but I don’t think it would have been able to compete with Sony and Microsoft.

Maybe if it played the Nintendo way, deciding to be really different and not focus on power but on simple games.

GameCube was a beast when I bought it.

I ain’t so far into the game (around 10 hours and arriving in Junon), but I ain’t so fond of the story telling. The characters are clearly caricatures with the silent shy guy (cloud), the nice strong awkward guy (barret), the naive cute lady (aerith) and so on…

I guess the story is also difficult to reinvent and might be a bit stuck in the 90’s. I’m still clearly enjoying the game so far, but storytelling has moved on and it doesn’t come close to a masterpiece like Last Of Us 2 in that regard.

Still the world is enjoyable, the gameplay too (although I preferred the original combat system) and it’s good to play something naive from time to time too.

As long as it brings some focus on backward compatibility at Sony too, I’m all for it. But I don’t have too much hope sadly.

By the way, Sarah Bond looks great and I feel weak not hating her even if she works for Microsoft.

Personally I hate these as I’d just want to play the game the way the developers wanted me to play it. I hate that PC influence.

Personally, I was mostly thinking about these options for games developed mostly for consoles.

It’s true that I hadn’t taken into account that some games are developed for pc and downgraded for consoles.

Still, even for such a game I would want the developers to think about their perfect ratio between fidelity and performance.

These games are masterpieces and the series could end like this, but I think it’s also possible to bring more closure.

The problem would be if the third one isn’t as good as the other ones, or, worse, if it’s just bad.

I still remember MGS V damaging the idea of one of my favorite game series.

I was also disappointed by red dead redemption 2.

The universe is great but why would I feel bad about bandits not being able to be bandits anymore!? Still there is a lot of potential in that wild west universe.

GTA5. I loved the 4th one but not really liked the 5th one. I guess I can’t understand why you have to be a bad guy in these games and I’m getting too old for that.

Assassin’s Creed after the second one. The plot lost me and I don’t think there is a plot anymore.

MGSV. I loved the first 4 MGS and hated that one as it had no good story…

For instance I now feel bad if I try to kill an innocent pedestrian in cyberpunk 2077 when I didn’t mind killing them for fun when GTAIV was new.

The art direction was really great and it was a big change from AAA games.

It would still be money into their account even if a subscription model might be better for them. But since, I wouldn’t be subscribing to anything related to Microsoft they would gain less money from me that way…

I own a ps5, a switch and Surface Go 1 running Linux for administrative work. It’s my perfect combo.

For sure, I’m mostly playing Ps4 games on my ps5, but I wouldn’t be able to play demanding games on my ps4.

Newer games aren’t available on ps4 and I hope it’s gonna be a really long generation as I hope they’re not gonna try to make us upgrade to a ps6 in a few years. I don’t really care about crazy graphics anymore as I think we’ve reached a really nice point and AAA games are already so expensive to produce.

I kind of only play on the PlayStation 5 as the switch is for my kids.

A Steam Deck could also be a nice replacement for my Surface Go as it would allow me to play some PC strategy games.

As a console gamer who loves tinkering with my pc, I can’t agree. As much as I love tinkering on PC, when I want to game I don’t want to setup anything or wonder if my computer can run a game.

As long as PC gaming isn’t giving you that for every game, they’ll be some kind of console market.

Yeah I’m already annoyed because you have to choose between Fps and graphic fidelity on that generation, so I’d have a stroke in front of all the parameters you have on a pc😅

And yeah the price is a big plus on a console, especially if you only buy a few new games and buy second hand a lot.

I guess some people want a pc and a console like me and some people just want a big gaming pc. Both ideas are fine and no one should be looking badly at the other.

We’ve made our calculations and for me a « shitty PC » and an easy to setup gaming system like the ps5 is what I need.

But it’s perfectly fine for me if someone wants to go the other way. I’m not gonna say they are dumb and their way is shitty because it’s not mine…

I used to love coop games as a teenager. Now, as a family dad, it’d be more difficult, but I’m still playing a Way Out with my girlfriend.

I wonder if young people would still play coop now.
