Low demand product and are creating hype going into the holidays. I wish this was another PSP or Vita both of which I bought at release but this is not it. If I could play my PS5 games not streaming that would be amazing but it’s a streaming device that is needs WiFi connectivity. I am not expecting PS5 level of performance out of it based on the size and cost of this product. I really wonder who their target audience is and what market research they used for this one!
Bungie milked their audience with a hard drive occupying piece of shit. The design of Neomuna was crap. The characters were crap. The story was awful. The level design was amateurish at best.
It makes me mad that I have an addictive itch that needs scratching.
I tried Destiny 2 when it went free to play with some friends and none of us had a clue what was going on. Just go do these missions with minimal story reasons or explanation.
We got through the first area and to the main hub but it just seemed boring. Played a bit more after that but saw no improvements in the second area when it came to missions or story. I’m not sure why someone new would ever play this game?
Yeah it’s really weirdly paced for a new player. When I started playing, they threw me directly into a late story mission and I had no idea who people were or what was going on. To no one’s surprise, I experienced story events out of order and was spoiled by the game itself
I got a free Destiny 2 preorder code with my video card. I played til max level. Then again for the first and second expansion. I thought “it feels like they’re holding anything actually substantive and QoL stuff back for the first big paid DLC not included in the expansion pass. If so, I quit.
so
never played again fuck that game.
Quick edit: IT LAUNCHED ON THE COMPUTER WITH NO TEXT OR VOICE CHAT
WHAT THE FUCK, YOU STUPID CUNTS
THEN ADDED IN, BUT OPT-IN INSTEAD OF OPT-OUT? DUMBASS FUCKING WANK SHITTERS I HATE YOU
And remember, at any moment can delete any content you paid for and it’ll be gone forever. These two things (the one you mentioned and mine) are why I always say: “Fuck Bungie”.
Frostpunk was an amazing game, but I honestly don’t know that I ever want to play the sequel. The first one was so stressful. It was the game equivalent of Requiem for a Dream, ie the best game I never want to play again.
Worse (at least back then), the replayability plummeted a lot. Once the fear was gone, you played a couple times to see all the branches and min-max a bit. Once you did an extreme deathless run, it was as solved-problem as any puzzler (which in a way, it was).
I’m curious what a sequel would look like. If it’s a totally different puzzle to work out, it might be interesting.
From the images, though, it looks like it might be a bit more seamless an experience, where expanding beyond the initial burner is possible. That could change everything.
I understand he’s mad that he’s losing money of a thing he made but, I think he’s going about that the wrong way. I would see that as more of a challenge then a “wow I shouldn’t do this”, I expect any person doing stuff like this would look at it the same way, free cracks and exploits are rarely about the money, it’s generally about the challenge of doing something that isn’t supposed to be allowed. Adding “mines” to try and sabotage it I believe will just make someone more apt to try and crack it.
In Mirror’s Edge one of the jumps near the end of the game was programmed to be actually undoable. It slowed you down, just a little bit, so it was now impossible to complete the game.
Unfortunately considering how many of these gamers are willing to pay extra $30€ just to get 1 week earlier access to a game, I'm afraid you are wrong in this regard and we're going to see prices go up even more. Piracy is also dying, either because of groups disbanding or getting sued, or because of DRM getting better and more widespread, and once that is gone it's going to let publishers jack the price even higher up.
I'm pretty much resigned to just play indie and AA games at this point, there's no way I'm paying 60 or more for these broken, bloated and often overpriced products. There are few exceptions but even they will be driven to higher prices eventually.
I pretty much exclusively buy AA at this point, with the rare AAA nintendo 1st party title that I'm happy to pay $60 for. Most AAA games though just aren't worth it. Some of those games coming out you couldn't pay me to play.
There are so many tbh, really depends on what type of games you're interested in. I've really enjoyed remnant 1 and 2, owlcat pathfinder games, VRising, Riftbreaker, Timberborn, Against the Storm for example. All made by good dedicated studios that deserve your money more than EA, bioware, actiblizz or other corpos like that. Of the older titles, FTL, Into the Breach, Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight, Factorio, Project Zomboid etc are classics - polished games made with love that put pretty much every AAA title to shame in comparison.
Fortunately, Resident Evil 4 will support universal purchase. That means if you buy the game for your iPhone 15 Pro, but you also own an iPad and/or Mac that is equipped with an M1 chip or newer, you can play across all three of those devices without having to double dip.
I remain flabbergasted there’s no simpler way to get ten buttons of input and 240p of output on a generic 32-bit ARM device with a zillion official and unofficial add-ons. Especially when you look at the unholy chain of adapters necessary for input.
Especially once you swap the console playing the game for an early-model Wii, which has been hacked to hell and back, and has Gamecube, Bluetooth, and technically USB inputs.
You could probably do it way more simply with emulation, but it seems the point of this technical exercise was to do it all with original hardware (which is pretty cool)
Honestly, most of the time it’s not PvP heavy, instead it’s dead. I play with some cousins and we’ve had 3 hour sessions where we’ve only occasionally seen other people through the spyglass. When we do encounter other people about half the time they aren’t interested in PvP either.
Having said that, unwelcome PvP at the wrong time can spoil a gaming session. Like, you can be attacked when you’re at the end of a long quest chain and lose hundreds of thousands worth of gold in treasure.
Aww, you won’t be able to bully people who don’t feel like fighting back? You’re gonna be forced to play with other people that actually want to fight? I’m so sowwy 🥺
Please the game is already dead. Last time I hopped on (about a year ago?) I got into 3 back-to-back fights with unkillable ships and players due to cheats. Fuck that noise, PvE or nothing.
