GammaGames,

These threat actors bypassed initial security screening from Valve which allowed the deployment of malicious patches and infected multiple users of the platform.

Good call! Considering the initial safety check they do before approval this seems like the easiest way for it to happen

I’ve been playing Easy Delivery Co! It’s a little delivery type game, it reminds me a bit of Snowrunner but smol and fast

I uploaded a few clips to youtube, if anyone is curious and doesn’t want to look it up: youtu.be/TS4v3AL_xG

GammaGames,

Have you played Dishonored? It’s an immersive sim with assassin magic, one of my favorite games!

GammaGames, (edited )

That’s surprisingly similar to my experience! I played the original a handful of times when it released but never beat 2 because it came out at a time when I was busy.

Somehow I did end up playing a bit of Death of the Outsider and really enjoyed what I saw, I should revisit the series to give them a fair chance

GammaGames,

The Walking Dead! That was the first episodic game I played as it released

GammaGames,

How do you play them? I don’t see any builds or even screenshots to see what they look like

GammaGames, (edited )

You’re 100% right, but it’s also a problem of devs underpricing themselves. They’ll work for 2 years on a game and then set its regular price at $5, which actually limits its reach (shoppers see the price and skip over it, thinking it’s low quality) and helps make a race to the bottom that’s already destroyed the mobile market.

Silksong isn’t going to upend the market, some of the quotes are silly, and it’s not underpriced since they were going to sell millions upon millions of copies anyway. But the wider discussion of pricing is important since lots of developers don’t seem to understand the larger picture.

GammaGames,

Consoles aren’t doing much better, Xbox apparently crashed and ps5 currently has a 404 for the game’s page

GammaGames,

Switch 2 was the fastest selling console of all time in the US and has sold roughly 75% more than s1 at this point in its life

GammaGames, (edited )

Steam mostly prioritizes what makes them money, and free to play games don’t on PC

GammaGames,

Panic has been doing those SASE with most of the games they publish, I think it’s fun!

GammaGames,

Put over 6 hours into the Baby Steps demo, we can’t get this fucking cup up the mountain!

GammaGames,

I remember that being fun!

GammaGames,

Been playing some Battlefield 3 after it went on sale, mostly multiplayer. It’s still fun! There are occasional hackers but they get vote kicked within a few minutes.

I’m impressed how well it stands up graphically, and aside from a few control quirks it plays great. The biggest problem is that everyone else on the servers has been playing for the past 15 years so I’m pretty outmatched 😆 though I can occasionally get a nice sniper kill with my recon loudout

GammaGames, (edited )

Agreed, FC5 was great until the point it got repetitive. I played the latter half in co-op, it was absurd fun with the little helicopters!

I also spent the first 2 hours at the arcade playing launch week user created maps. They were… rough.

The detail about the sounds is interesting, I hadn’t noticed it!

GammaGames,

Played so much mkds, the snaking was unreal in that game

GammaGames,

Same!

GammaGames, (edited )

lol, that’s you in the thumbnail

Edit: the thumbnail used to say “you will own nothing” with Cayde-6 giving a thumbs up

GammaGames,

Finished Expedition 33’s 2nd act last night and still processing it! Beautiful game, I adore the story and world they created

GammaGames,

I hope it does, it deserves it! The fact that most of my complaints are insignificant annoyances really says something to the quality of the game, everything works together so well!

GammaGames,

Yes! I would still like a failed animation when I miss a parry and ground clutter sometimes has annoying collision, but neither of those stop me from enjoying the experience that is there. Everything is at such a high standard that it’s hard for any single issue to overshadow it

GammaGames,

I mean, they did? I wonder how the AI voice things will fare if this goes poorly for roblox

GammaGames,

They host diddy and hitler characters

Also cnn.com/…/character-ai-ceo-chatbots-kids-safety

GammaGames,

I’m 15 hours in and constantly surprised, definitely my favorite game lately! Even though I suck at parrying

GammaGames,

They do! I’d appreciate any feedback on a failure too, sometimes it feels like the worst parts of dark souls without the half-rolls lol

GammaGames,

Thought this was an interesting read on academic research and the machine that is marketing

GammaGames, (edited )

A NSFW game apparently had the most played demo last NextFest

GammaGames,

One of our first games for the original xbox was NFSU2. On so many Saturday morning’s I’d wake up revving engines from the other room as a friend played through the campaign

GammaGames,

I played the Knights in Tight Spaces demo and it’s really good, they evolved the hand to hand brawl theme from the first to add multiple characters in a party. The first game (Fights in Tight Spaces) sometimes felt like there was only one good play for a given hand. I found it really satisfying but this sequel feels a lot more strategic

GammaGames,

A difficult update, but not unexpected after all this time. 10 years is a helluva timeline to release nothing 🥲

GammaGames,

Stop with your logic, I just came here to be mad!

GammaGames,

I am just about done with The Last of Us 1 and just picked up Expedition 33, both are amazing (even if I’m bad at parrying)

Also on playdate I’m playing bwirds, it’s a fun spelling game! Polished and has nice short play sessions

GammaGames,

The Titan sections in TF|2 confused me, half of them were basic arenas and the other half were basic arenas with bosses. I played a lot of Titanfall 1 and when I would play aggressively I’d go entire matches without losing my titan, it felt more like Gundam Doom. I think it’s because they actually balanced the sequel

Anyway the campaign is fantastic, so creative and always keeps it interesting. The mech sections aren’t even bad, some of their levels are beautiful and there are some good arenas, they just weren’t what I expected

[Solved] Trying to remember a game (military battle simulator)

I’m trying to remember a video game from about ten to twenty years ago. It was a tactical military battle simulator. It was played from a bird’s eye view. The player could move units like vehicles and infantry groups around a map and needed to defeat enemy troops. The simulation of the combat itself was very detailed. After...

GammaGames, (edited )

Also stuff like Advance Wars

GammaGames,

Discussing battery life:

In less demanding titles like Dead Cells the difference is absolutely insane jumping from 2 hours 47 minutes on Windows to 7 hours 8 minutes on SteamOS.

Considering how indie friendly the deck is, this is a huge loss for MS. All other things equal that difference would easily make me drop windows.

GammaGames,

I should try this again. The bending was super fun, but I couldn’t figure out how to move faster than a snail’s pace

Former PlayStation exec says "$70 or $80" games are a "steal": "As long as people choose carefully how they spend their money, I don't think they should be complaining" (tech.yahoo.com) angielski

It feels to me like the closer we get to the Nintendo Switch 2’s June launch and the, apparently, $80 games associated with it, the more people are fighting with themselves over what is and isn’t worth it. But at least Sony veteran and previous head of PlayStation Indies Shuhei Yoshida is free from inner turmoil – he...

GammaGames, (edited )

Games were $60 for so long everyone thinks it should be like that forever

GammaGames,

Did you mean “other than text?”

I just looked at the images in the article and I agree. I would hope they were placeholder, but that bridge especially has so many weird artifacts it almost looks like they used an older model to generate it

GTA 6's delay doesn't mean the games industry's in trouble - it's already dead (www.eurogamer.net) angielski

I saw someone, somewhere, saying something like this recently: it’s always easier to play the role of doomsayer than the optimist, because far fewer people seem to care if you’re wrong when you’re predicting something will fail....

GammaGames,

Nice! Did they have a release date before?

GammaGames,

RIP, though I’m not really surprised considering GTAV

GammaGames,

Fwiw I still found 4 a lot of fun, it has enough unique features and the loading screens were much shorter than previous games. But I also didn’t play with dlc, so that probably helped.

2 is my favorite but I do agree with others that 3 is better. It has so much customization built in and the more open world is more fun to play in

GammaGames,

How so? Looks like the general survival base building that’s been popular since Rust or Ark
