crawl, rounds, ship of fools, pico park (better with a large group), risk of rain returns (2 would also be good except that it doesn't actually support local multiplayer, only online).
And the best part is that this game is good no matter what. Older straight white dude? No problem. Still fun and interesting. It shows how well done it was.
Agreed, I played it the first time when I was 26, and I’m a straight Swiss and German man. Freaking love playing as Max. I played it two more times after that, and also the Chloe focused prequel.
Before the Storm? Yea that one was really good too. I never played any of the other games though. They never looked as good. Also i heard the newest one was dogshit.
Yes same here. I did watch a bit of someone else playing the one with the two Mexican brothers running away, but never really had the motivation to play it myself. I guess I just found time power to be much more interesting.
I already knew the struggles that women have to endure that most men don’t. But playing this game really put that into perspective, with how immersed I became. By the end of the game, I felt emotionally wreck.
Very much a “girly” game, just in an entirely different sense.
A game where you play Silvia, a potion crafter who has taken over her uncle’s shop on an island full of adventurers. You get to meet many kinds of people, both adventurers and not, and have a chance at romancing pretty much all of them (at once, if you select the polyamory mode). The art style is adorable (please physically release the cards, devs) and the voice acting is so well done.
Monster Prom
Strictly a slice of life / dating sim about trying to get a date for prom. The cast of characters are very cute, as is the art style. It’s also multiplayer if you’re into that.
Emily is Away
I believe this one is free. It’s a nostalgia blast for those of us who grew up with instant messaging like MSN or AIM. It’s been a while since I played, but I remember it being cute and very interesting.
Fantastic story, voice acting and mechanics. It’s such an odd mix of deck building, crafting and VN romance. Yet it delivered on all fronts with a solid character writing that kept surprising me.
I stopped paying attention to Bethesda when they released that Creator's Club (or whatever it was called) bullshit for FO4. That shit broke all the fucking mods I had, then they had the audacity to request $20 for a mod that was already freely available. I lost any respect I had for then in that moment.
I'm not giving them another dime...doesn't mean I won't still play their games though.
My time at Portia and my time at Sand Rock are pretty chill. They’re kind of like Stardew but 3d, and I liked them more. It has some fighting but it’s very PG cartoon-ish. It has a major mechanic where you just hang out with the NPCs, or go on dates with them. The second game, sand rock, is better but they’re both good: store.steampowered.com/…/My_Time_at_Sandrock/
I have RetroDeck set up but I’m honestly not into emulation. I do own a Nintendo Switch and we’ve played a couple of those. They’re fun but I’m not looking into supporting Nintendo for the time being.
When making a potion the game crashed. After repeating it multiple times, I figured out that it only happened when mixing a stolen and non stollen ingredient. I have not retested since the last update.
Prior to the update, I could not create an enchanted item with a static effect at frostcrag spire. For example, a ring with nighteye. I could create one with detect life because it was a magnitude selector. This bug went away after the update.
You could try Animal Well. Dark yet pastel-oriented colorschemes. Minimal “combat” but more of a puzzle and exploration style of gameplay. More mysterious than scary. Mild peril. Not romantic in the slightest, but very original.
Started playing Clair Obscur Expedition 33. I’m about 6h in - feels pretty fun but can’t help but feel it’s severely overhyped. Music, story and characters are very immersive and the combat system is a bit hit or miss for me. I’ll see how it goes
I think it currently only works in third person funny enough. I’ve had the same issue so I’m just back to torches because I never liked third person view in these games.
It only begins correctly in 3rd person, but if you wait for the glowing mote to appear you can then zoom back into 1st person and it will continue to orbit you a provide light.
