There is a rumor that Dying Light 2 will be given away by Epic in the next week or so. They are giving away a different game every day right now.

I didn’t fast travel except all the treks to and from High Hrothgar. That got old quickly.

There is one in my area called Skooma.

From what I remember if you did all the Greybeard stuff you were up and down there many times.

dan1101,
@dan1101@lemmy.world avatar

And there are so many games that never got finished or polished properly.

Agreed. There’s probably one big reason he doesn’t like this tag and that’s money. He probably realizes that people will visit the Steam page for a game to read reviews and discussions even if they might buy it on Epic.

Dude needs to mind his own business. He just wants his customers to be ignorant.

Origin Systems, they made Ultima Underworld and Wing Commander. EA turned Origin into a download client. I’m still salty.

Porta-potty company.

Kids are annoying and trying at times, but until you have your own kid it’s impossible to understand how rewarding they can be.

Being forced to parent siblings and parenting your own child are very different things. Even if you don’t choose to have a child, they are your own flesh and blood and that makes a big difference.

ROG Xbox Ally runs better on Linux than the Windows it ships with — new test shows up to 32% higher FPS, with more stable framerates and quicker sleep resume times (www.tomshardware.com)

In a not-so-scientific benchmark conducted by YouTuber Cyber Dopamine, the Rog Xbox Ally managed to perform better without Windows, the operating system it ships with out of the box. Cyber installed Bazzite, a popular Linux distro for handhelds built specifically to offer that console-esque, seamless experience. Visually,...

That’s awesome. I’m almost ready to switch to Linux, but I hop around to many different games and not all run on Linux.

I understand the single player campaigns are somewhat fun. I’ve had Black Ops on my Steam wishlist for years and it has never been on a decent sale.

Yeah I had some fun with Day-Z and Player Unknown’s Battle Royale, but the repetitive rounds in those sorts of mods got boring to me pretty quickly. Especially the scavenging for gear each time, I just wanted to battle but it feels like work.

I have the same sort of issue with RTS games where you are in a race to build your base and units, I don’t enjoy speed harvesting and building.

I was stoked for BF6 until it wanted me to enable Secure Boot and install rootkit anti-cheat. Now with the Saudis and Jared Kushner in charge installing a rootkit to play a game is an even worse idea. Maybe if I only used the computer for gaming.

Looks ok, but sorta just reminds me I need to play Deadlock more.

Never heard of this one, looks cool.

My current favorite is Tetris Plus, the versus mode with the little professor guy trying to get the treasure while a spiked ceiling keeps falling is fun. When one player fills 2 or more lines it adds random junk to the other player’s board.

dan1101,
@dan1101@lemmy.world avatar

That’s too bad, I would have played it. It was better than some of the shows.

The original Ghost Recon games in the 1990s and early 2000s were first person and more outdoor/wilderness oriented than Rainbow 6.

The latest 2, Wildlands and Breakpoint, are third person but still great games.

A lot of people like myself complained about the third person. So this is giving the OG hardcores what they want, could be a good thing in spite of Ubisoft.

Former Dead Island 2 Dev Addresses Delay: 'Boy, That Game Sucked' (insider-gaming.com)

Back in 2014, Wein revealed that Deep Silver was ‘mightily proud’ of the trailer, but it was the spark that ignited a major downfall, and within weeks, milestones were failing to be hit. The product being pieced together by Yager wasn’t reflective of the first games that had sold so well....

I just finished it coop. Really nice looking game with fun combat both melee and guns. The plot went off the rails, and the game was rather short but I really enjoyed the zombie fighting part and sightseeing in LA.

What is the collateral on a digital product purchase?

I’m gonna need all the loot boxes for that!

Day 332 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games l've been playing

Today’s game is some more Starfield. I neglected the Main quest for a bit to go off and join a faction along with decking out my Crew. I found the Adoring fan, immediately he was the first addition to my crew. Love the guy and i’m so happy to have him back. I also had Sarah join the crew just to fill out the slots....

dan1101,
@dan1101@lemmy.world avatar

The aesthetic of Starfield is excellent. The planets are beautiful but you can only access one small square of surface at a time. The ship flight and navigation is simplistic but the combat and boarding is fun. In fact I can’t really think of a better game for ship boarding.

But overall Starfield somehow is less than the sum of its parts.
