elgordio, do games w Astarion's voice actor (Neil Newbon) is doing a let's play of Baldur's Gate 3

Somehow I see to have completely missed this guy on my play through!

fosforus, do games w Baldur's Gate 3 has ruined Starfield for me

Doesn’t BG3 have that “throw the dice” -gimmick? At least we can avoid that horrible joke of a game mechanic in Starfield.

fosforus, do games w Todd Howard asked on-air why Bethesda didn't optimise Starfield for PC: 'We did [...] you may need to upgrade your PC'

Everything time this dude opens his mouth, I get an urge to wear an eyepatch. But hey, if he’s as rich as he alludes here, that shouldn’t be a problem, right?

circuitfarmer, do gaming w Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose

This is getting a lot of flak, but I mostly agree. I have enjoyed the exploration of random planets as a pleasant aside to quests. Yes, they’re dull. It’s a lot of scanning flora and fauna, if they exist. Wandering slowly around.

But in that sense, it’s actually one of the most immersive activities in the whole damn game. If Starfield has an issue with anything, it’s immersion.

One thing I didn’t like about NMS, frankly, is that every planet seems to be teeming with life. It makes that life feel uninteresting when you find it, because there is no yin to the yang.

ShittyRedditWasBetter, do gaming w Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'

You people want to hate this game so bad 🤣

Oha, do games w The Talos Principle didn't need a sequel, but now that I've seen it in action I'm glad that it's getting one

I should really finish the first game

PenguinTD,

you should it’s really well made.

lemick24, do games w I've played the Star Trek game of my dreams, and it's a grand strategy game

I’m not sure the article convinces me this’ll be more than a reskin of stellaris, which is my most played game of all time, but given that this is my favourite IP of all time…? Can’t say I won’t buy it on launch day.

atlasraven31,

I always wait a few months for early patches.

lemick24,

You’re wise and I should follow your lead. Will I, though… sigh

atlasraven31,

You can play Star Trek Armada 2 while you wait…

Why are they selling it as a fantasy action adventure game when it was a moon simulator all along.

99nights, do gaming w Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'

But that’s real life, this is a video game. People will not share that same respect for it lol.

ROFL…

sugar_in_your_tea, do games w New mystery Valve hardware device certified in South Korea

The Deck’s AMD Van Gogh APU can’t be had in any other device and is substantially different to any other chip AMD produces.

Is it really that different? I thought it was basically Zen 2 CPU cores and RDNA 2 GPU cores. It’s not an off-the-shelf SOC, but it’s also not that custom. So this seems a little hyperbolic to me. I’d say it’s pretty similar to the XBox Series S SOC (and Series X and PS5), which uses the same cores, just a different amount of each.

I also think it’s kind of interesting that they’re jumping to a VR Headset. If it’s a standalone, it’s probably not “low power.” If it’s not standalone, I think they’ll have issues transferring data fast enough to be practical. So my money is on some kind of accessory, like maybe a Steam Link 2 or a controller. Those are low power, wireless, and seem to fit the bill a bit better.

Then again, maybe it is a VR headset. But I really don’t see them competing at the low end on VR.

csolisr, do games w Todd Howard asked on-air why Bethesda didn't optimise Starfield for PC: 'We did [...] you may need to upgrade your PC'

Their idea of optimization in console was to cap the frame rate to 30, even on the Series X. So you can wonder what that means for PC

xantoxis, do gaming w Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'

OK? We’re bored though. The astronauts had other shit to do.

PersnickityPenguin, do gaming w Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'

How is this any different than No Man’s Sky?

xantoxis,

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy fewer planets.

LaChaleurDeLaNuit,

I think they meant in terms of disappointment

Hello Games put a lot of effort into giving NMS a plethora of free updates over the course of years to make good on their promises.

We all know damn well Bethesda isn’t gonna do shit except a couple of over-priced half-baked DLCs.

justastranger,

HG just kept duct taping more crap to the game without adding any depth or integrating their crap together. It’s still an incredibly shallow game where you’ve seen all that there’s worth seeing on the first day of playing.

steakmeout,

That just isn’t true.
