Treasure this moment. One of my best gaming memories was moving into a new place with a roommate after being homeless for two weeks. We didn’t have furniture, we just had a frozen pizza, a six pack, and his switch with smash ultimate on it. We played on the half all night. It was a candle in the darkness, knowing that even without much we had a roof over our heads and each other. Just pure relief and joy.
I never experienced homelessness but I was lonely growing up. I remember meeting a new kid at school and and we played Earthbound until 3am on his SNES and fell asleep feeling like I was floating because I found a friend and a cool game.
That said It was also the day I saw Starship Troopers in theaters and saw boobs for the first time so that may have been contributory. All in all though banner day.
Picks come with me when I get ready to leave the house! Otherwise they stay on the shelf next to the guitars while I’m here, otherwise they tend to get lost lol
I want some advice, I started a new playthrough, and the furthest I got before this one was going into caesar’s camp or something dressed as one of his legion, but when I returned to the friendly faction, I left the armour on by mistake and they turned on me, and I lost my save.
I haven’t got a companion yet, but I’m about to fix ED-E. What happens if I try something similar, and try to dress up like a normally enemy faction and go to their base with a companion (ED-E or other)? I’m trying to do a speech/int run , how should I manage my companions so they only shoot when I start to get into combat, or I am sneaking around or walking around in costume?
As far as I remember, your companions will only attack if the npcs are hostile with the exception of boon. Boon will always shoot legion on sight. You can have some decision over their actions though by talking to them.
As for the armor it does matter when and where you have it on. Again my memory may be foggy but factions can be peaceful or aggro depending on what you are wearing. You can even go into a camp with hostiles if you have their faction armor on.
Take all of this with a grain of salt though, it’s been a long time and I did play with and without mods.
I also just re-played through this, mgs1 is a fantastic game for so many reasons. It brought me back to when games were meant to be fun and not a grind fest.
I would also like to say maybe take the downtime you have now and play through the VR missions for 2, they add a lot in when it comes to functions of sneaking and playing those will really make you aware of the tools at your disposal, that’s currently what I’m doing when I feel like it.
