Basically Activation and Blizzard with their sexual misconduct, harassment, and otherwise. Their CEO defending it. The allegations of toxic work environments, etc. It’s just not a company I support, despite the fact that I was a huge fan of their games. There’s a lot more information out there, but I don’t feel like going through it all. I’ll remove my post if you want.
Maybe I’m just being salty? I don’t think so though.
Edit: Sorry Chris, if I am out of line or didn’t provide enough info in my original post.
I hear you and understand where you are coming from. If I were to dig down into every single product, that I use in my day-to-day existence, then I’d probably find dirt everywhere. I’m not sure what I’d do at that point. Throw the baby out with the bathwater? It’s a tough position to be in.
No doubt. I agree. I try to stay out of things for that reason, but this was big news for a couple years and is still going on. As a gamer, it was unavoidable. The number of reports coming out of that company is concerning. But I do try to separate art from the artist when I can.
I keep forgetting I have X4. Loved X3. Hated Rebirth. Got X4 after joining a thread about it and thinking they were talking about Rebirth, and then proceeded to never actually play it lol
Disco Elysium definitely, as it’s probably one of if not the best written games available right now.
If you want something with more gameplay, you should definitely take a look at Pathologic 2. New content will be released relatively soon for it too (as in a different playable character and story), so it’s probably a good time to give it a shot.
Seconded, though particularly the Royal version. The extra semester (and related content) and quality of life upgrades are completely worth it, and the best way to experience the game.
I’ve been on Silverblue (well, Kinoite) for quite a while now, and the only issue I remember having was that I had to use flatseal once to give steam access to an external drive when adding a new library folder.
Everything seems to work fine. I’ve never been prevented from playing a game when I wanted to due to immutability or flatpak issues.
Portal reloaded adds time portals ontop of the normal portals.
Splitgate is an FPS that adds portals on top of Halo style combat. Very fun but may be hard to find a game these days its kinda dead.
Age of empires 3 is an RTS that adds shipments. These shipments increase the pace of the early game and allow for way more personalized play as well as allowing players to react to different things without shifting their entire build order.
GTFO is a horror fps where you and 3 other human players take on raids and these raids are changed each season. When the raids are retired they are gone. You must beat the lvl 1 raids to unlock lvl 2 and so on.
Radio Commander. Its an RTS where you sit in a tent in Vietnam and give and recieve orders via radio. You have a map that you can mark where things are based on the info you get.
Older gamer here, that has just dipped his toes in RPGs in a long time by buying Elden Ring. These days there’s no time to bash your head in the same bossfight two dozen times. Fun has to be a little less “long haul”.
Maybe Mass Effect? The 2nd and 3rd especially for the “a” in arpg, imo.
Also, I know you said Western but since you mentioned Elden Ring I’d also recommend Dragon’s Dogma and Monster Hunter. Maybe Devil May Cry, but that’s a bit more hack n slash.
God of War 2018 is a great one too if you’re on PlayStation or PC. Probably the easiest game I listed, while also having some optional crazy difficult fights in the side/postgame content. Valkyrie Queen was harder for me than most Souls bosses lol.
If you liked Witcher 3, grab Cyberpunk. Better gameplay and very similar approach (main story quests with decisions to make, side quests, tiny bit of exploring). And it’s a western game on top.
Of course this only works if you’re actually interested in the Cyberpunk Scenario and you don’t want to play mostly Fantasy games.
I know Baldurs Gate 3 is a turn based combat game, but i’ll shamelessly plug since it’s absolutely fantastic. Difficulty is easy to switch, a great game to explore!
It’s a private tracker. They want proof that you’re a good standing member of some other private tracker. So they’d want to see that you seed and have a good ratio.
They have an IRC chat. If you had skill cracking apps or something they might let you in that way.
Ultimate Chicken Horse might be one of the top party games for getting a laugh for me. It’s always fun to see someone hyperfocused to make a jump, only to get hit by an arrow, followed by a wrecking ball hitting them into a sawblade.
