Look at Hellish Quart on Steam, if you haven’t. Really cool and fun, like a spiritual successor to Bushido Blade based in Eastern Europe. Updated with impressive regularity.
Even though it might not be that important, I just wanted to say that I was wrong and that the first “Long Dark” is not finished. A DLC came out on the 2nd of December, but it’s not the last Episode of the Wintermute campaign. Just found out after starting the game again to finish it.
We aren’t saying too much more about BLACKFROST at this point, as we are focused on completing our obligations around THE LONG DARK 1.
Appreciate the clarification. I am not getting time to play for a few weeks yet but was trying to get something for my brother as he was deeply into the game a few years back but didn’t want to come back till it “was done”.
I had an Index, and after many years one of my lighthouses died (was actually from the Vive I had before that). But I wasn’t playing it enough to justify buying a new one.
Now the kids are getting older I might get back into it at some point.
That’s actually what I hope they’re fixing with the remake.
Early puzzles were clever, later puzzles just have so many parts it feels like a laborious chore to get every laser and box and replay exactly where it needs to be. I’m sorry to say I didn’t even finish the game.
Never used kickstarter again after being scamed by Pebble watch, when Fibbit bought Peeble all Pebble v2 watch pre-orders were canceled without refund. Lesson learned
After this, they might. But it will be nice to have one of these games that focuses on the exploration and puzzle-solving stuff without resorting to body counts measured in the hundreds.
Mortismal has a terrifyingly high tolerance for jank. But if they are excited then I am excited. Both because we tend to have very similar tastes in CRPGs but also because they are one of the bigger PoE fans on the internet.
Both Pillars and Tyranny are nowhere near on the same level as a New Vegas or a KOTOR 2 but, trust me, Obsidian continued to launch games REAL hot well after they made a south park game.
They haven’t done a “This is 75% of one of the greatest games ever” since Mask of the Betrayer. But they are still Obsidian.
I saw this title a couple of times during conferences in the past years and I liked the general atmosphere and style, but I had absolutely no clue what kind of gameplay to expect.
Now that I seen it, it reminds me of The Division in a different theme. Was expecting a whole different kind of game for some reason. Can’t say the gameplay looks very interesting though, seems quite basic and bland, especially comparing to the Division games. Might still check it out since I like the style and theme.
You’re not mistaken actually, this game changed a lot and was apparently supposed to release in 2022 as a looter shooter. They delayed it, changed it to be a slower paced extraction shooter instead.
I thought I was going crazy, because I definitely felt like the impressions I got a couple of years ago definitely seemed more like a Destiny type of game.
Could still be fun but it seemed like a weird shift. But these kind of changes during development barely ever mean anything good for the final product.
