But users pushed back, noting among other things that the existence of queer people is not a political issue at all — their erasure, however, is.

Best line in the article.

Is there a link for more info on this?

TemplaerDude,

It’s going to look like a PS2 game and play like the almost 30 year old original.

WALLACE,

So a massive step forward from their recent games then

TemplaerDude,

🤣 too true

CosmoNova, do games w Massive Pokemon leak purportedly covers next-gen games, scrapped ideas, and more

Good. I have no empathy for huge corporate bullies. In fact if the leaks are true, they deserve it even more for their audacity. I mean a survival monster catcher game? Seriously?

ClassifiedPancake, do gaming w Valve apologizes for ruining a Steam game's launch

So they depended entirely on wishlists? I thought it’s the norm to buy ad spots on the homepage on launch.

Deyis,

That’s definitely not the norm for indie devs on Steam. They are heavily reliant on wishlists because it automatically notifies when the game is released and on sale; it’s why the call to action for indie games is to wishlist it.

RedFrank24, do games w Microsoft has never been good at running game studios, which is a problem when it owns them all

I wonder how much of it is mismanagement on behalf of Microsoft itself, and how much of it is small-time devs suddenly getting more budget than they’ve ever seen before and deciding to get super ambitious with their next project and then having to scale it back when they can’t actually handle the project?

It’s what happened with EA and Anthem. Bioware suddenly got a shitload of money, couldn’t hack it, had to scale back the project, and it all fell apart.

commander, do games w Are PC handhelds like Steam Deck really competitors for Switch 2?

No. They aren’t available widespread enough off the Internet, not marketed enough, too heavy. Maybe a hypothetical future Switch 2 and Switch Lite

It’s weird how little identity this has now, visually. The previous design was quite striking, now it looks easily confused for something else.

Maybe this works better with screen readers though since it’s just black text on white background in simple text blocks.

kate,

they’re owned by some company that owns a bunch of blogs, right? maybe this is testing a new look for all of them
