ryannathans,

Star citizen has been getting really good lately

ryannathans,

I’ll wait for the final release, Deadlock 2 /s

A personal argument for a benefit of gaming

I grew up hearing all the talking heads (media), religious groups and parents strongly criticizing video games. You’ve, probably, heard some of this. For example, video games involving any type of violence causing people to become more violent, etc. As far as I know, the academic community has failed to produce any negative...

ryannathans,

Elden Ring and Dark Souls games are not fun to play per se, but it’s very rewarding due to the difficulty and skill required. That sense of accomplishment is why a lot of people play, even if it’s not explicitly fun to keep dying and restarting. Not everyone’s cup of tea for sure but many good lessons and skills to be learned playing it

ryannathans,

NFT game licences turn digital game sales into used game trading like you’d find at gamestop - except still being equivalent/identical to brand new purchases

ryannathans,

NFT is a non-fungible-token. That’s all that’s required for a game licence. What part of that is unnecessary? Are you looking at existing media based NFTs and applying those systems verbatim?

ryannathans,

I don’t mind tradable game items too, it would be cool if valve didn’t have a monopoly on community trading. They could still even take an automated royalty cut with NFT trades

ryannathans,

What blockchain? There are many implementations, there’s no reason there has to be excessive “gas” costs. These are solved problems

ryannathans,

Direct trading of games between individuals. Not locked into one market that could shut down. EA and Steam sell the same game. EA wouldn’t let valve have a monopoly on used game trades

ryannathans,

One example already handling game item NFTs with super low fees loopring.org/#/Another example of super high scalability with extremely low fees ripple.com/xrp/

You’d obviously build a bespoke purpose built solution instead of shoehorning it into some random existing crypto network

ryannathans,

Last I checked there is still practice with bots, and community servers

ryannathans,

cyberpunk sucks

A few months later…

other games aren’t as good as cyberpunk

ryannathans,

Superstonk mods have been compromised for a long time, silencing discussion of various topics and derailing discourse. Not to mention thousands of bot accounts manipulating what gets seen. The original members have partially moved to other forums and lemmy

ryannathans,

He has 0 salary, he isn’t getting paid for any of this. Hence the end of the letter. You obviously didn’t even read it.

I expect everyone to roll up their sleeves and work hard. I’m not getting paid, so I’m either going down with the ship or turning the company around. I much prefer the latter.

ryannathans,

No shit, he’s an activist that bought in and turned the company around when it was being run into the ground by consultants working for short sellers. He owns about 15%

Now compare that to executives with no personal stake in their company, making millions in salary and not giving a fuck about anyone else

ryannathans, (edited )

Majority of the resources are going to squadron 42, star citizen has NOT been the main focus. Can “journalists” get anything right?

Sq42 has reached a pivotal development milestone and developers will shortly be moving focus to star citizen, integrating the modules built for sq42

600M for an mmo that pushes the boundaries of technology and a goregous singleplayer game is not insane.

ryannathans, (edited )

You can access the development blog, roadmap and newsletter on the site. Your refusal to read does not discount the effort that has gone into building it

ryannathans,

You can play the alpha if you please

Cyberpunk 2077's Biggest Mystery Unravels Further in Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0 (www.ign.com) angielski

Cyberpunk 2077's biggest mystery has unravelled even further in the Phantom Liberty expansion and Update 2.0, with some fans who got too close to the truth being (politely) silenced by developer CD Projekt Red.

ryannathans,

Tldr still no official solution/answer, yet

Elon Musk demanded a cameo in Cyberpunk 2077 while wielding a 200 year old gun: "I was armed but not dangerous" (www.pcgamer.com)

While Elon’s then-partner Grimes was recording her part in the game as cyborg popstar Lizzy Wizzy, the erratic tech billionaire turned up with an antique firearm to “insist” on being included in the game. “The studio guys were like sweating,” Grimes is quoted as saying. Musk adds “I told them that I was armed but not...

ryannathans,

Cunts are just fine here. All my mates are cunts and all the cunts are mates
