This director doesn't have many directing credits but seems that worked out well for The Super Mario Movie. His current catalog is averaging around 7 on IMDb, which is a far better indicator of quality than RT, so that's promising.
So... do you think we'll get "silent" Link (as in the games; the version of Link who doesn't have much to say -- besides his iconic mouth noises, of course), a return to "Well, EXCUUUUSE me Princess!", or something different?
I get they're just shopping it right now, but we are seriously getting like Japan and anime with these fucking streaming live action shows. If you've got an IP that seems like it has a pulse go for it. I don't dislike the game, but the writing doesn't justify it.
Edit: Not to say that I think relying on proven showrunners and creators as a system is any better, mind you. I don't really have a solution to how these multimillion dollar productions should be put together, it just seems really vapid.
playstation started declining with ps3 which released in 2006. PS4 released in 2013, a decade ago. PS4 wasn't worth buying. That's a decade of garbage from sony.
I've been ripping PS3 games for a little while now. I've recently bought some Dynasty Warriors Gundam games from Japan which I'm dumping at the moment.
Armoured Core has especially been in a thorn in my side. I've got 4 and 5 but still trying to acquire For Answer and Verdict Day. They're extremely hard to come across. I haven't looked at the PS2 games but I'm sure I could find those for cheap. Super easy to rip with a standard Disk Drive.
That's very kind of you. I prefer physical CDs that I can redump if anything gets messed up. Haven't seen what I need to dump 360 games but I can give it a go.
Yeah you can get drives that can rip them with third party firmware installed, (I have drives with custom firmware for other things) but the cheapest way is to just use an actual Xbox 360. Doesn’t need to be modded, Xenia can just use an installed game, so you just install the game to a flash drive then you can move it to your PC and run it from there.
I’m curious, can a standard Blu-ray drive on a PC rip PS3 games? Or do you need special hardware? I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to rip PS1 games.
I've read that you can use a Blue-Ray drive. The RPCS3 website has a proper guide on it though I haven't tried it. I jailbroke my PS3 (not fully because it's one of the 320GB models) and use that with FileZilla to dump games over the internet onto my PC.
I don’t think his position is reasonable. JRPG does describe an RPG subgenre, just like CRPG or ARPG do. They have specific formats, structures and tropes that they all adhere to religiously.
He also omits the fact that not all RPGs coming out of Japan are called that. Once they stray enough from the trope of the genres, they are no longer included in it. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck…
Finally, acting as if people have a racist or discriminatory slight against those games because of the term… I don’t think I’ve ever seen people do that, other than disliking the general style and anime aesthetic which is entirely fair?
