amazon has repeatedly let competitors use amazon cloud services; and amazon has repeatedly ripped off those competitors ideas stored in cloud services and then shut them down economically
I get the impression Amazon just rightly avoided overselling it and growing too far too fast. I see it advertised for a few specific cases where people don’t own consoles and might try it, but not overblown in showcases the way Google did.
I still buy their games… when they are like 80% off. I would’ve maybe bought Skull and Bones new given how much I liked Black Flag, but after the reviews… I’ll wait until a big sale or wait for it to be on GamePass.
I kinda figured those rumors were bullshit. They may be secretive, but Fromsoft still wouldn’t just quietly release a major dlc for one of the biggest titles they’ve ever made.
Shit must be massive for it to take this long, though, without much news other than a title, and two updates that they are still working on it.
I hope they truly stick with the Xbox brand, it will be bad for all of us to only have Sony with the cake… (I mean we have Nintendo, but they have always been on their own).
I’m fortunate enough to still have my full collection of RB4 instruments functional after all these years, and I frequently bust them out with my wife and my friends when the booze hits just right.
In the announcement they really emphasize that you’ll keep the songs you’ve already bought. What they haven’t clarified is whether you’ll still be able to continue downloading dlc tracks that are already released. Severing that from the playerbase would really suck.
Although they are releasing one final DLC pack before this ends, so who knows?
What they haven’t clarified is whether you’ll still be able to continue downloading dlc tracks that are already released.
They are just stopping their weekly DLC release schedule. No reason to think anything is going to happen to current DLC. Just nothing new going forward.
Is this game still playable on modern systems? Can you still buy the peripherals?
EDIT: I searched it myself and found the answer is Yes to modern systems, but No to peripherals. You have to buy overpriced adapters at retail and used equipment on ebay/craigslist.
Interesting read— basically all games boiled down to running at “720p with 50% internal resolution”; that’s 360p internal resolution, less than the GameCube from 2001.
But, that’s paired with Lumen GI, high resolution textures, FSR2 or Epic’s TSR upscaling and a huge shift in how we render games (deferred rendering, temporal effects, normal mapping, etc). And on a Linux handheld. We came full circle in a way, but what a time to be a gamer!
I think it is impossible to properly state how damaging his existence was to gaming as a whole.
I would gladly say good fucking riddance, as if it was a victory, if it weren’t for the fact that he is going away with a fuck ton of money. He didn’t lose anything, he just won. And the whole gaming industry, hell, the whlole world suffers because of it. Because this isn’t just about video gamse. The man is a vile piece of shit. And he just gets to walk away and get away with it. Because money is power. The whole thing is just sickening.
