DOOM: Battle for Earth. A 4X strategy/survival game. Basically you try to save Earth with limited resources or prolong it’s death. Kinda like They Are Billions.
While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.
That was before they started diarrhea shitting themselves since the founders left. GTA Trilogy, GTA+, and removing cars people paid for in Online is just a taste of things to come.
I haven’t checked in on this game since around launch. Anyone want to bring me up to speed on what’s happening? I gather the latest expansion pack is priced differently than prior DLC?...
It's an incentive for devs to put their back catalogues to EGS, after they just laid off 800 employees because they spend too much money. Is it just me, or does everyone besides Epic know what the problem is with EGS?
I feel like EGS is a wash for anyone older than the elder Z generation. They might get the Fortnite kids to stick with em if said kids grow up and want to play anything else. Giving out free games is a way to solve the “all my games in one place” problem. If I started PC gaming 2 years ago on Fortnite and collected every free game I’d have about a hundred games in my library now., whereas I may not even have a Steam account.
The one true way to beat Steam would be to undercut them in price across the board but from what I hear Valve will ban your ass if you sell a game there for $70 but EGS at $50. (Full price, not on sale), so that’s not an option at all which leaves it to exclusives, which wouldn’t been as hated if Epic was publishing/funding them.
What’s sad is Epic used to consider Linux a top tier support. My copy of Unreal Tournament 2004 has a tux logo on it and the Linux installer is on Disc 1. I never even played that game on Windows. Valve was very anti-Linux back then too.
Solution for Linux: look into Heroic Game Launcher. It’ll solve all your EGS Linux issues by not even using EGS client. It’s great I use it for GOG as well.
If I become my save file, I’m gonna hop into my Star Eagle, fly to New Atlantis, and use my million creds to furnish my Class One citizen penthouse, and fucking retire.
Maybe go visit Neon once a month to trip out on Aurora and catch BorealUS’s next show.
Also I’m female now. I may ride this for a bit before going to Enhance and switching back to Male and getting the full Chad look. Might do this sooner to hide from Starborn assassins lol
CD Projekt Red reveals that all Cyberpunk 2077 mods have now been disabled with the release of both 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, leaving many split on the decision.
EGS gave that for free… after I bought it for $15 on Xbox 😡
Comes and goes. Cyberpunk was $10 physical for me which is cheaper than any digital sale but then I’ve had some AAA games just given away digitally too.
I went to work but apparently some of my friends are still struggling to get into games so it’s not fixed yet, we just have caught a downtime period I guess.
Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 3, which was so massive Larian held it back a day to test it properly, will release today, and it'll add an RPG feature many of us have been requesting since we stepped clear of the Nautiloid - the ability to change a character's appearance. Alas, it comes too late for the Wood Elf Druid I rolled during...
Most games do have limits on it after creation but I did remember just now that the Saints Row series did just this. I just have Starfield on my mind and forgot.
Outriders is better than people say once you realize it’s not a cover loot shooter despite the chest high walls but more of a run and gun magic shooter with loot. However it doesn’t have “staying power”. Kind of a One and Done with friends game.
It's common practice for PC games today to launch with Denuvo, a form of DRM designed to stop the spread of pirated copies of games, and it's also common practice for developers to remove Denuvo several months after launch as interest (and the risk of piracy) dwindles. Appreciated but strange. Did they look at the sub cost and went nah or something else? I mean could have just wanted it for the beta but idk seems overkill (heh heh).
