They should just release a new game with the graphical fidelity of Fallout 4, but with better performance and animations. They could probably cut their dev budget in half if they made a game with Skyrim’s scope and FO4’s graphics.

No one plays Bethesda games for their graphical fidelity so they really need to stop wasting time there.

Skyrim is almost three times as old now. I’m going to be honest, I’d rather just have another Skyrim expansion than a modern Bethesda game.

You’re good. I’d have thought the same thing had I not been following the development story.

Their game pass numbers also seem to be going up, which is harder to dev for as well. I know my steam friends got sick of it after putting in 100 hours in three weeks though

Yeah it reminds me of the Elden Ring “where’d the players go?” articles. They beat the game. I’ll be back with the next content drop

I burnt out on Factorio after I had fifty ion cannons in orbit and a few battalions of remote controlled mammoth tanks. It got boring after I had finished everything. And restarting was too daunting.

I’ll definitely be back for the big update though. The new trains look incredible.

Personally I do think palworld will survive though. The core loop of capturing pals, leveling, and attribute hunting, is very fun.

The electric Pokemon were forced to work at the power plant in the first season of the anime. Pokemon have always been slaves. I totally get not liking the presentation, though. It’s far more grotesque and not abstracted away.

Yes they do. And they’d need to look at your source code to prove you copied theirs. It’d be basically impossible to prove unless you were stupid enough to have the GTA V source code on your work machine.

Peep the code on a website, and they’ll have no evidence and the case will get dismissed for being frivolous. Do you think Rockstar is omniscient? People look at the source code, then leave the company for a competitor every week.

Code can’t even be patented, so unless you copy some propriety process for computing physics or something, that they have a patent on, then they really have no legal standing.

This meme of “don’t look at it” is very ignorant to the reality of professional software development. Our memories aren’t wiped when we switch jobs and they’d have to prove you didn’t pick that idea up from another job, a forum, a colleague, or even a dream.

Sure if you copy the whole thing. But if you treat it like another resource like Stack Overflow then the only way to get caught is if you put the code on your work machine.

People quit their job and move to a company every week and the knowledge of rockstars engine doesn’t leave their brain.

Yeah I love it. It makes some gameplay changes though. Regardless, I can’t wait until the RA2 mod is done. If someone gets Mental Omega running in it then I’ll lose my marbles

Yeah there’s no chance anyone would even know unless you straight up copied enough code that the same bugs and weird physics behaviors show up in your game.

You can get in trouble for having it on your hard drive because it’s copyright infringement, but not for looking at it on a website.

Red Alert 2 because I want the world to play it.

Ace Combat because it’s hype and plays well with a controller.

Mod as in install mods that modify the game. My favorite is the map and waypoint mod that adds basically Google maps to Minecraft.

Or the Create mod.

I’d also install the automatic world backup mod so if someone ever griefs the server you can just roll it back

Not really. It will feel like programming if you already know how to program, but I don’t think it will teach you programming anymore than any other problem solving activity.

I’m so worried about what will happen to Steam when Gabe dies. I really hope he has a successor picked out who is as ideologically stringent. Otherwise I’m going to lose a huge library.

Yes but I’ll still take a Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 remake.

I hope remasters continue for games that are from the era where they relied on specific OS library hacks to get the game running. Those games are hard to run on modern OSs.

I wish developers would learn that just because they’re well paid doesn’t mean they’re getting the full value of their work. Your CEO didn’t become a billionaire by paying you the full value of your labor.

There’s always room for more and unions can get that.

I am forever grateful that halopedia rolled their own wiki and was spared from the fandom plague.

To help your point. Halopedia is still extremely active and will have info from new books within a week. The site has their own software and it’s community run, so people still feel engaged.

Anime Sky Knights is my favorite way to describe the series. It plays almost how someone would describe a knight in a song.
