I’m sure there’s going to be a big circle-jerk of hate because of GTA online, but I’m excited about a new GTA, finally. Despite being told by everyone that Starfield was a steaming pile of dog shit, I enjoyed that.
Rockstar can eat a dick for how they handle the mudding *modding community and they are definitely greedy bastards. But that’s not going to stop me from enjoying GTA Florida insanity. Must become Florida Man…
The layoffs and budget cuts are symptoms, not cause. They’ve been terribly mismanaged for years – on the studio side, not EA – pissing away resources doing essentially nothing.
Could be either. No matter what it’s mismanaged, somewhere it’s to blame there. Could be EA, could be Bioware.
All I know is they could be alternating Mass Effect and Dragon Age every couple of years and just be pumping out profit - if they were managed well and had good investment. The fact that they’re not just seems to me like EA/Bioware are just leaving money on the table
I have liked all the GTA’s except 4. I’m sure I’ll get this one too. I hope that the single player campaign brings back some of the niceties from San Andreas. I want to have a garage of cars, rare ones that I’ve found and customized, and I want to be able to wreck them and be able to get them back from garage (without having to buy them again). Same with planes/boats/etc.
I.E when I play through the game I should be able to permanently unlock things, not have to repurchase them with basically micro-transactions, even if the money is easy to get.
Man I loved 4. So many people seemed to dislike it but I thought it was a fantastic game and a MASSIVE step up from the previous gen titles (in graphics and physics etc.)
The physics in 4 were the best in the series IMO. The car handling was perfect, and not MidnightClub-style arcadey (point and vroom).
Plowing through pedestrians at the park had real replay value in GTA IV, with very interesting reactions each time. In GTA V this became somewhat canned in terms of animation diversity.
GTA IV felt grimey and real to me. I loved it. Just wish they had planes and parachutes (albeit Ballad of Gay Tony brought the latter in)
Absolutely unreal. 50 million views in 9 hours. The game looks amazing! First viewing I was a little underwhelmed, but watching the trailer again on a bigger screen and it does really look fucking great! This is going to be the biggest selling game in history, without a doubt.
If this isn’t coming out until 2025, I worry about how dated the graphics already look. It’s like they took the same old models/rigs and just brought them into higher definition? Idk, but something looks off about them to me. It definitely doesn’t help the $70-80 price tags that companies are trying to justify when graphics look mostly the same as they ever have.
I think we might have hit peak realism with graphics and need to lean harder into art direction.
I get that. I’m excited for it too. My point is 80k views but 2.1 m likes. How could 2.1 m people like it when it hasn’t even been viewed 100k times yet? As soon as you load the page it’s a view, so at least 2.1m people would have had to open the video to like it.
Exactly, thank you. I get what the massive appeal to the game is. I’ve played all the GTAs (yes I’m old), but something is fucky if it has that many updoots and not even 100k views (at the time).
Views don’t update in real time but likes do. Always happens with big videos like this. It’s something to do with YouTube reconciling the view counts across multiple servers, which gets very difficult with large numbers. It’s a bit easier for them to create a stable like count when each user can only like it once, so they’re essentially adding that user to a list and then counting the length of the list.
As a former Floridian, this is definitely triggering my PTSD as they seriously nailed the atmosphere of Vice City (Miami). Curious if the main characters will be as well written as V’s were
