Today’s game is Sea of Thieves. Me and a friend did the final Monkey Island story line after nearly a year of putting it off. This screenshot i took at the start of our voyage....
From Crowbar Collective, the people behind Black Mesa, comes a single player and co-op roguelite blatantly channeling old Rainbow Six vibes, and I personally couldn’t be happier, given the state of Rainbow Six now. Also, it’s got LAN and split-screen....
The Borderlands 1 GOTY Enhanced edition has cross play I believe, and so does Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, which imo is actually incredibly fun to play. Halo has cross play now, MCC and Infinite.
I believe Sea of Thieves has cross play, but I’m not entirely sure how much mileage they’ll get out of it.
Tonight was Zomboid night. We inducted a Friend into our Zomboid Group, and have a possible 4th on the way. We started a new world with the group, and decided to take on the prison for fun (something none of us have ever done, at least on the preset difficulty). Me and my Friend who played Cable decided to make a new character...
I’m replaying Arkham Asylum for the first time since close to when it first came out! It’s old for sure but it doesn’t take long to get used to it again....
This is probably one of the best game series ever made. Probably the best Batman game series ever, too.
Each sequel adds new things without changing the core formula too much, each sequel is a bit bigger than the last game, and each sequel is just “more of what you love” about the Arkham games. Imo it’s everything a game and its sequels should be.
I know, but I was being impatient before. Ragnarok is already on PC and I kinda forgot about it. I’ll look into it once a sale hits, but even then it’ll be a debate with myself over the psn stuff.
And we’re saying it’s always looked that way. It’s always looked like a cartoon, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s helped it stay relevant for 20+ years.
I went into Call of Cthulhu blind, not knowing anything except that it’s somehow connected to the Cthulhu mythos. Not only was it another period piece supernatural detective story like yesterday’s game, Kona, but it also stars a private investigator who was a former veteran. This time, though, it takes place in 1924 and our...
Same. I played it on Game Pass a couple years ago and actually got really into it. I had to make myself hunker down for the first encounter with the other, though.
Conarium is an interesting one. It’s a bit more walking sim than RPG, but there are different endings. I went through a Lovecraft video game kick a couple years ago too, lol.
I do want to try Old Gods Rising, but I just haven’t yet for whatever reason.
“The current obsession with nostalgia and remake culture is easy to understand when you realize that it’s a symptom of a culture that isn’t allowed to imagine a future.”
Ya, like wtf? I got what they were saying based on context clues, but I swear I’ve been seeing more and more profiles that are trying to do a “thing.”
Like this person with the typed characters, I’ve seen another user in comment threads who posts in the third person and refers to themselves as their fursona (scale-sona?), and of course the trolls.
Amazing how this cash grab of a game has been in early access alpha development for about 8 years now, finally releases, and this is the best they can do
I was gonna come here to comment that PZ has been in early access for damn near 13 years. Hundreds of thousands of people already have hundreds to thousands of hours played on it. There are thousands of mods to change the way the game plays.
That’s how I feel about games like Borderlands. They’re incredibly fun games with simple yet fun gameplay with decent stories and cool maps.
I can’t get into the whole min/maxing, “proper” builds, or gear loadouts. I just wanna run through a wasteland blasting dudes in the face with cool guns and abilities.
Careful, if you play Morrowind and the other Elder Scrolls games, a lot of other RPGs won’t feel nearly as satisfying to play.
There aren’t many games where you can see a thing and just walk to it, or go into a random house and see (and interact with) all the shit they have from forks and plates to baskets and books. Speaking of books, how many other games are there that have actual books you can read in-game, that explain lore and have poems and plays like we have IRL?
And that’s not even getting into builds and play styles. You can be a tanky heavy weapons expert who just steamrolls everything in a couple hits, or you can be a glass cannon archmage blasting dudes left and right; you can also be an entire mix of all the things if you want. Be a magic tanky stealth archer that takes what they want when they want. Also you can kill essential NPCs in Morrowind (in the later games they just get knocked out).
I love the Elder Scrolls games, jank and all. They’re absolutely fantastic at putting you in an atmospheric world that feels lived in.
Today’s game is Just Cause 4. I wanted to take it easy after an exhausting week of work. At this point i doubt i’ll make much of a dent in Alan Wake II by Halloween, but it’s better than burning myself out and not having fun....
I need some suggestions on what to play. Single Player games only. Most of the games make me feel lonely and alone. In most of the games, the protagonist has to deal with the problems on their own, like Control, Crysis, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War (I liked the original 6 more than the new ones, even though the new ones had...
I like a lot of singleplayer games, but I also play games that can be played multiplayer (open world survival crafting games).
Borderlands is pretty good imo. You can play alone, but you never really feel alone with all the characters constantly asking you to do stuff for them.
Someone else said Kenshi, which is strictly singleplayer but you can build up your party and have multiple squads running around, taking care of things. And there are generated conversations between them. And there’s tons of mods that can change or add things to the game; personally I’ve added a couple new subraces to the vanilla ones, a couple new whole races of characters to play with, new building and weapon types and such.
Edit: Untitled Goose Game and Thank Goodness You’re Here, or even any cozy game really.
The new Star Wars: Jedi games like Fallen Order and Survivor are great singleplayer games without making you feel alone. Mostly cause of BD-1.
Today’s game is Slime Rancher. I just came home from a concert, and i was wiped. So i decided to take things easy and just play around in my Slime Rancher Save....
If I remember correctly, there’s an upgrade you can put on the pens for like a music box or something to “calm” them down.
Otherwise, I think I just merged the quantum’s with saber slimes and put them in their own pen and area off to the side with chicken coops so they wouldn’t wander too far when they got hungry. Just make sure to keep their food stocked and they’ll be fine.
I want to play an easy shooter where you feel like you’re in a flow state aiming at targets, the only time I’ve ever felt like that was in the PS2 Medal of Honour, kneecap, helmet shot, head shot or up till MW4 original....
I’ve been replaying Borderlands 3, so honestly I’d recommend any of those games for a cozy shooter. The stories don’t take themselves too seriously, if you die you can just respawn immediately in the vicinity, and it can be pretty relaxing to just mow down waves of bandits or whatever other enemies.
You know what I liked? That Guy Ritchie King Arthur movie with Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law, where Arthur is raised as a street orphan thug who kind of creates his own little criminal empire.
I’m really frustrated with how almost every new game these days is being forced into this “live service” model. It seems like no matter what type of game you want to play—whether it’s an RPG, shooter, or even something traditionally single-player—you’re stuck with always-online requirements. And for what? It adds...
I love Zomboid. I probably have too many mods, though. I played for a while just the other night and added a couple more mods, then I had invisible cars all over the place.
At least Starfield has pretty screenshots to look at during the loading screens. And if you use photo mode, it’ll shuffle your pictures in with the default ones.
Sea of Thieves is honestly great. There have been many times where I’ve been on the way to an objective and I’ll find random loot floating in the water, or something skinny catches my eyes on a passing beach, or I’ll get attacked by a pirate ship or even a megalodon.
Wow, this is awful. Some people reported that these ads are also very petty and not necessarily related to the game, like apparently Elden Ring shows an ad for a licensed mousepad when you hover over the game now…...
