Zahille7,

What a wild thing to pull out of your ass

Zahille7,

I played the demo last night after seeing this post. Tbh the character design is what made me want to play, and it’s actually really fun. There are two levels you can play through, the tutorial and (what I assume might be) the first level. The tutorial is pretty short, but the level after actually has a lot, and I wasn’t expecting that. The multiplayer was actually really fun as well.

Imo the controls could be a little tighter (when you’re going around those curved tracks at top speed the guy always wants to ramp off), but that’s about my only complaint so far.

Seeking: Kid-friendly Adventure/Exploration Games (PC)

My daughter (4) is very into exploring cities, homes and villages in Skyrim, feeding aliens in No Man’s Sky, and cleaning houses in House Flipper. She gets annoyed in games like House Flipper because she can’t leave the property to explore all of the visible houses on the block. I’d like to find other PC games that are...

Zahille7,

Same here. In fact the hype is the reason why it didn’t do well imo. It’s a fine game, nothing too wrong or bad about it, but they hype definitely killed. IGN kept advertising it as “Fallout in space” and “the Bethesda Killer,” and look where we ended up.

Zahille7,

Damn seems like a good update. I’m still only playing the PC GamePass version, but I’m definitely thinking about getting the steam version soon

Zahille7, (edited )

It updated for me overnight. When it was fine I hoped back on to play some more, and it seemed to be this update. V to pick up and throw pals, which they added a reticle for. I also noticed that pals will reset themselves (respawn back by the box) if they get particularly stuck on something

ETA: still can’t rename pals though :(

Zahille7,

How the hell do you even get that far?

Zahille7,

That’s how I started. After a while I was just clicking random combos to see what I could get.

Can someone explain to me why Honkai: Star Rail is treated as something other than trash? I keep seeing posts about it, all over. angielski

It’s a free-to-play mobile gacha game. Therefore, it is trash. That point simply cannot be argued. It’s not up for debate. If you’re here to debate that point, please don’t even bother. All mobile games are trash. All free-to-play games are trash. All gacha games are trash. Again: there is no debate about that....

Zahille7,

Why even waste your time making this post if you don’t actually want anyone to debate you? In your post, and in a couple comments, you say you can’t/won’t be dissuaded from your opinion; so literally why waste your energy making this post (or any of your other bullshit ones, for that matter)?

Zahille7,

Or is it just an excuse for you to call out and talk shit on anyone you don’t like for whatever reason?

Zahille7,

Even still you can’t help but degrade the thing you don’t like. And you still haven’t given me a valid reason as to why, other than “WEEBS BAD”

What are some hidden indie gems nobody knows about? angielski

Which indies did you discover and would love more people to know about? I’ll start: The Pale Beyond. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem tbh, but it’s such a good story rich game. I laughed, I cried and felt the characters struggles. If you like story rich games/ choices matter, check it out.

Zahille7,

I bought that game a while back, but I couldn’t get into solving anything. Maybe I was just playing it wrong or something.

Zahille7,

I thought this was about the third movie and I got really bummed.

Zahille7,

Taste is subjective. If you don’t like it, that’s fine. I thought the first two were enjoyable, even though predictable.

There are other movies out there I’m sure you enjoy that I would find incredibly boring.

Zahille7,

Why is there such a hate-on for this movie? Like goddamn. Sure it wasn’t anything spectacular or groundbreaking (compared to the first one), but it’s a goddamn treat to look at and it’s fun to watch.

Zahille7,

Zero Dawn had too many side quests? Imo, it felt like there wasn’t enough sidestory content. Like one or two side quests for a couple towns outside the main city of the game, and that’s it.

I actually really liked the Frozen Wilds DLC because it was a mini distraction from the rest of the game, and explored more of the people that live in that new world.

Zahille7,

May I ask why you dislike the world? Is it LotR in general, or just what they did to the lore in those games?

Because I do enjoy those games, and I’m a fan of Tolkien as well, so I can definitely understand why someone wouldn’t care for the Shadow games due to what the devs/writers did with Shelob and Sauron

Zahille7,

Giving a hearty “Skal” with a mug of beer in your hand, while kicking barrels through the hoop is pretty fun, ngl.

Zahille7,

I felt the same way about the first Horizon game. I was playing on normal, barely making any progress because A) I couldn’t be assed to care about any of the characters, and B) the combat was really finicky.

I mean, I get it you’re fighting giant killer machines with a bow and arrow, but still. I had a way more enjoyable time when I turned the difficulty down and got a couple mods (just ammo and carry capacity upgrades so I didn’t have to stop to collect resources after every single fight).

Zahille7,

So you dislike fiction/fantasy in general?

Zahille7,

I mean I was real tempted to get a PS5 so I could play Soider-Man 2 and the new God of War.

But then I just watched a playthrough of each online.

Zahille7,

I just finished it last week myself. It felt a little clunky at times, but I started to get into it after a little while.

Zahille7,

Because that’s how these ports work? Same thing happened with God of War (2018) and Spider-Man/Miles Morales. Even with the first Horizon game.

Zahille7,

Well it is. I’m as disappointed as the next guy, but I can wait a while until it does finally come to PC. There are literally thousands of other games to play while you wait.

Zahille7,

That’s how I justified it to myself.

That, and there was an entire team of people working on this game for years, trying to make it the best vision of theirs as well as making it fit within the pre established world.

Zahille7,

I never finished the first Elex (the combat was way too unforgiving imo; it took me like 5 minutes just to kill one of those river raptor looking things) but I loved the trailer for Elex 2. I thought it went really hard.

Zahille7,

I haven’t finished it, but I’d say Vampyr makes you make some difficult choices

Zahille7,

I mainly remember totally fucking up helping that nurse save that homeless guy, and I tried to go back so I could do it right and the game specifically tells you to live with your choices.

Zahille7,

The only radiant quests I can think of in Oblivion were after you had finished the Dark Brotherhood or Arena quest lines. I don’t remember any other random quests from that one.

Zahille7, (edited )

It was not ignored because of Disco Elysium. In fact I had never even heard of DE myself until like last year.

The reason it was “ignored” (it really wasn’t though) is that it was a pretty mid game.

ETA: it was also hyped up to be the “Bethesda Killer.” IGN was literally posting articles and videos saying things like “Bethesda should probably start looking for a new job.”

Zahille7,

Well they made Grounded which is pretty awesome

Zahille7,

I’d hope this comes to PC. I only played through Chains of Olympus before GoW 2018

Zahille7,

I came here to comment Psychonauts (both of them), cause those are the games that popped into my mind when I was reading the post.

I’d say they’re good recommendations for this game type. I’d also argue that aside from punching, your main attack is your Psi Blast.

Zahille7,

It’s aged pretty well, especially with the HD remasters available on steam. My favorite is Ty 2.

Zahille7,

And if you’re really worried, you can look up a steam guide on how to get it running as smooth as possible on whatever OS you’re running.

Zahille7,

Honestly the new seasons and specials are great. If recommend watching season 18 onward, but the real meaty stuff comes around in about season 20 or so.

Zahille7,

Sounds like a you issue. If you wanted to use other weapons, you definitely could have. The game gives you ammo left and right, and it doesn’t take long to build up a small stockpile of a bunch of different kinds.

I’m a sucker for energy weapons. It’s a space game, and I wanna pew-pew some baddies. I got that double-barrel laser rifle and that’s been my primary weapon for like 75% of my playthrough.

Zahille7,

I’d say THQ Nordic could maybe do it justice. They remade the Destroy All Humans! games and those were great imo.

God of War Creator Is Unhappy With New Games and Kratos' Story (comicbook.com) angielski

Despite being nominated for numerous awards and even winning Game of the Year in 2018, the creator of God of War, David Jaffe, is not a huge fan of the new direction the series has gone in. Jaffe himself hasn't worked on these new God of War games, but thinks that they're not staying true to the spirit of the character and the...

Zahille7,

Instead of just “man literally too angry to die.”

Zahille7,

didn’t get the playerbase

So it wasn’t successful

Zahille7,

It’s fine if it actually worked perfectly for you, but “just working” isn’t exactly a measure of success.

They still needed the playerbase to actually use it, and devs to actually make games for it. Which they got very little of both. So it wasn’t successful.

Zahille7, (edited )

So what was Cuphead? I know, I know, it’s not an FPS, but it could use the exact same title format and nothing would be different.

This game is only using an art style. There’s literally no way this would cause any IP lawsuits even if it released today, unless you’re actually playing as Steamboat Willy and the whistling tune plays somewhere in the game. Which, to my knowledge, isn’t the case.

It’s an interesting art style to give an FPS, but that’s about all this is.

Edit: holy shit I just realized: this is an entire game based on GMod Nextbots. You’re just shooting at animated PNGs that shoot back. Holy fuck.

Zahille7, (edited )

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this “viral” marketing campaign(?). Like why is everyone jumping into this bandwagon when Cuphead had literally the same art style (except in color) and came out years ago?

Zahille7,

I mean we can thank Blade and even Raimi Spider-Man for the current state of superhero movies. Before then we had that crappy Captain America movie from the 90s.

Zahille7,

Right? I only played like a campaign and a half of 5e, but I specifically remember the 5’ spaced grids.
