I think we need a Plank button, for those times when you need to sniper shot someone in the prone position whilst in midair. Think of the possibilities:

  • Jumping into a tunnel completely ready to snipe
  • Other examples

Presses jump button for no reason

Presses interact button to vault over obstacle

Exactly, because as we all know - all consumers are all experts in all the products that they use and so deserve no protection from scheming producers.

Get out of here

sorry, I did take a low approach there by lumping you with the “let the market sort it out” folks. Apologies.

Still, “clearly told” could mean anything from a cigarette style warning to a single overlooked “parental advisory” style sticker

If Amazon has shown us anything though, its that reviews can be bought and sold en masse. I’m not sure how Steam reviews are mitigating this, but I fear that it will be undermined soon

tetris11,
@tetris11@lemmy.ml avatar

The individual review don’t matter though, it’s the mean star score that people glance at and then scroll by on

tetris11,
@tetris11@lemmy.ml avatar

can’t multiple people share an account and post individual reviews from it?

I would just subtly add pressure to turn the main character into a necromancer, resurrecting the good people they killed and trying to make good on their wrongs, whilst slowly succumbing to the dark magic that will ultimately consume them and turn them into the worst bloodmage villain that teletubbyland has ever seen

It certainly is one of the most games of all time

Who, in your opinion, is the most annoying character in any game?

Personally, it’s Faith from Farcry 5 for me. Uninteresting dialog that can be summed up to “I was bullied once” and that’s it. Literally every other character is so much more interesting. Jacob gives you a sequence where you run through a gulag which he then uses against you, John tries to kill you and is openly hateful...

SHAAAUUUUUUN

It’s a pretty standard Turkish name, fyi

Mel from MGS. The flirting and hero worship of a guy she’d only read about, too much

It’s all part of a probe to gauge sympathy for an Alien race orbiting an unstable star system, hoping to relocate to Earth and build an army of sympathisers.

bear in mind that R* now distributes GTA V with Razor1911 cracked binaries because of how much better they are performance wise than R*'s own

For some, that game never truly died.

I think it was just the general Florida-man vibes that gave it away for me

The physics in 4 were the best in the series IMO. The car handling was perfect, and not MidnightClub-style arcadey (point and vroom).

Plowing through pedestrians at the park had real replay value in GTA IV, with very interesting reactions each time. In GTA V this became somewhat canned in terms of animation diversity.

GTA IV felt grimey and real to me. I loved it. Just wish they had planes and parachutes (albeit Ballad of Gay Tony brought the latter in)

Am I the only one who misses the heck out of Simpsons Wrestling?

This will get better as NN/AI chips become the norm in gaming. Compression gains, on the fly generation of textures, voice generation when needed, etc.

I envision a future dev using rough shitty textures to conceptualise a game, and then an NN to bring it to life during runtime.

You might even be able to load your own NN interpreter to make the world more cartoony, or change the intended setting entirely, or unlock the nsfw filter on the vanilla interpreter.

More of the same! More of the same! Oh please Lord, let it be more of the exact same boring safe realistic dreck that has been the GTA series for the past 5 years

tetris11,
@tetris11@lemmy.ml avatar

Yep, and the last 6 years of rehashing the same game via online has been a colossal underwhelming venture in complacency

I’ve never played Far Cry, but you’ve described the kill-spree momentum I used to enjoy in games - specifically the outcome of a previous action being the entry point for another, with no slowdown - making it feel fluid and dynamic.

The closest thing that matches that sheer freedom of gameplay, was the swing physics of Spiderman 2 on the PS2. No other spiderman game has come close to that, and I’ve played then all.
