If you goto Open Fodder, you can download an open source port of Cannon Fodder. It contains all the demo and special versions that were released. If you want to play Cannon Fodder the full game, you need to supply the PC or Amiga data files.
I wish devs would give us ps5 preset where you get the same exact settings as the console in every game. My biggest problem with consoles is just fps. Most of the time they have good enough visual quality
That would be a pretty cool option. Then you could buy a PC that you know will play coming PS5-to-PC games really well, or whatever console’s games you’re looking to play.
Great game, although I had to be content with the Atari ST version. I also remember a special edition for an Amiga cover disc which featured the Cannon Fodder guys invading a sensible soccer pitch.
Link to their actual site. Looks like a safe sandbox for running flash as well as an archive of old animations and games. Time to dig out some classics!
Ok the customization looks great. I am a bit of a Ultramarines hater so being able to kit mine out as a Blood Angels Death Company will feel awesome. You can catch me on the battlefield screaming about Horus while crushing bugs.
Weird but he is right, the visual overhaul is amazing and the game is fantastic, and one of the few scenarios where 30FPS doesn’t truly make a difference - except for those timing attacks.
Personally I’d go a step further and say that during some animations, 30FPS looks… better? Paper-style is inherently low-fi, the low framerate somehow fits that visually. At least to my eye.
As stated my someone else, it is a fairly mid-sized game. The map is rather small, albeit with various vertical level that stays inaccessible until you catch specific monsters. But all of them lacks variety. You either get grassy plains, scarce forest, automnal forest, forest or water. Oh, and a mountain too. But once you’ve got accustomed to the grass/forest part, it gets boring quite fast. I’d really like to get a desert/sand biome, a rocky one, and the likes. And they even have the lore excuse to be lazy with the placement, they don’t even have to make it logical.
Eh, I thought it was perfect. I hate how modern Pokemon games have become quasi-MMORPGs, in staleness of core design, lack of combat depth and also their desire to have you spend every waking hour doing absolutely mindless rote activities.
This was nice. Strictly superior oldschool Pokemon clone with fantastically punny names, really cute characters and a nice runtime that’s still longer than the old Pokemon games but not as bloated as modern ones.
Cassette Beasts is relatively short. You can beat the story in a couple of days. 100% and the DLC take longer, but it’s an absolute pleasure all the way through. Highly recommend you move it to the top of the backlog.
